What's in your "long term speculation" box?
BoogieWoogie replied to BoogieWoogie's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Since I already made my orders... I think the Wonder Girl 1 Grampa spot foil variant is going to be big but reminder: I know nothing -
Well, with as limited as these print runs are you don't need a ton of interested buyers you just need a handful after that particular variant. If 75 people want that 10/10 variant in 20 years you're cooking with gas. Or maybe flint and sticks but you should be able to get your money back The Pooh books I could see actually becoming something if the Pooh franchise ever has a successful run of films or cartoons that reference any of the parody material at all. There is a 100% chance that there are going to be multiple Pooh adaptions over the next ten years. Whether any pop or not is a tougher proposition. Hardlee Thinn I have a harder time with but a small audience of pervs can keep those back issues alive. Provided they don't move on to perving elsewhere as pervs are wont to do. Remember Dawn back in the late 90s? Think that was the perv approved book at the time. But then again Vampirella is what 50 or 60 years strong now? Who knows!

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

Same with Department of Truth #1 IMO. I prefer Frison's cover B but collectors have chosen cover A so far -

Miles Morales 8 is going for $40+ right now. Hopefully Miles Morales 10 is right behind it, caught maybe 10 or 12 copies of that in the dollar bin a few months back and grabbed em all. They have to start really establishing some of these new villains as Miles villains specifically, right? Right? -
How do you feel about restored SA Keys?
BoogieWoogie replied to piper's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
If it's a big enough book I'd consider it but for 95% of my SA collection I'd prefer a lower grade, unrestored copy over a nicer restored one. Basically if it's AF15, ASM 1-9, or ASM 14 maybe. Otherwise probably no. -
I will defend them here... signature authentication is a science. There's a reason why it can be used to identify someone. Yes, talented forgers exist and some are so good that they can food experts but that is vanishingly rare. Signature authentication has been a thing in the collectibles world for decades, especially for sports and celebrity memorabilia, and it's trustworthy.

That's what he's referring to too. That red label no longer exists.

I'm hoping there is a lull that lets me grab a 2nd for under $50. I had no idea what they were going to price this at when I ordered it, I was shocked when they said $10. They actually said $10 if I was okay with it, like I could've argued them down to cover but I'm not trying to steal the dang thing. I hope you're right that this will have legs but you never know. She already has the Ramos 1:10 of ASM4 as the big Silk book to get and I don't see that changing anytime soon but maybe this could be a distant third behind her first appearance one day. Plus I like the book. I got Cover A to read and this isssue wasn't as good as #1 but it had some funny spots and I'm enjoying the story so far. Cindy really seems like a young, inexperienced hero. Miles #25 was pretty okay too. Oh and Miles Morales #8 from last year is on its way up right now -

And how. Nothing like hitting up a new shop and cleaning them out! I have been looking for a nice copy of that ASM 121 reprint for a while. I didn't dig into the back issues too much today, did grab two UXM 283's but didn't feel like digging today. Did get the Silk 1:25 as I was the first one to ask my LCS about it. They sold it to me for $10, will likely prescreen it eventually. IMO, I love everything Silk right now. I usually don't do ratio variants besides this one place in town that will randomly throw them into the stacks at cover price but I'm glad I tried for this one ahead of release. Asked about the Wonder Girl 1:25 but that one has been claimed already oh well can't win em all -

Will those also be first prints? Or is it unlimited 2nd prints like Bad Idea is doing? -

Not sure if I'd trust currency that passed through your hands but I know it's safe to sanitize gold bullion if you have any of that? I keep hearing about this doge stuff too, I'm pretty hip and will accept "doges" as well -
4.0 after c/p nice copy

Does anyone else have shops in their area that sell incentive variants at cover price? I have a shop near me that does this pretty much at random. They'll just mix in the incentive variants with the other issues, usually a week or more after it has been released. I got a bunch of the Batman 1:25 variants at cover price this way and today I got a few of the BRZRKR ratio variants. The Barmejo 1:25 and 2 of the Grampa 1:25 brown smoke variant. They had a copy of Unikorn too, makes me wish I would've checked them out after NCBD last week I probably could've snagged more than one copy $20 well spent IMO They actually had two more of the brown smoke variants sitting out but they had dinged corners so I didn't grab them. Might go back for them -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???

Do you mean 328 or 361 or 362 or is there something I don't know about 326? E: And I've seen the same thing you have with 238. I watch that one too. -
