  1. IMO an undervalued book, great buy, I have a few of these...
  2. Never seen the top right character before... Joker ripoff?
  3. Venom Spider-Man Doctor Octopus Vulture Electro Black Panther Black Widow Batman Superman could keep going... most legacy characters, truthfully. Not too many characters go 30+ years without a costume overhaul. Lots of modern villains like Lobo have already had major redesigns. Carnage I think is one who will be very resistant to a redesign, maybe one of the more successful character designs of the last 30 or so years...
  4. One of my all-time favorite covers in any series, very tempting But with what's coming?
  5. I was totally messing around, didn't mean to be a jerk sorry!
  6. 10 minutes late! I was told not to come back until 7 Nice buy!
  7. What time zone? FEED THE WOLVES But seriously
  8. I spoke with the seller again. He said he has owned the book for at least 50 years and says he has never altered it. Between that and what you fine folks have shared my anxiety has been eased. I just dropped this off at my presser. He thinks he'll be able to remove the sticker. The seller sold this as a 4.0... I think this grades out much higher like most of you seem to. Must be a tough grader! In any case this is being sent in for grading after a C&P. I'll eventually update this thread with the grade... eventually...
  9. No one took this emissaries of evil appearance?! Y'all will be sorry when they hit the MCU*! *Applies if and only if the MCU is still and thing that needs content 30 years from now
  10. Never read much 616 FF but WOW these covers are gorgeous And such nice copies
  11. Can't afford to start another SA run... ...but will I do it? That's the real question...
  12. Good idea. I don't even know how to check for this type of stuff. I just measured now and the bottom edge is 6 and 7/8ths of an inch while to top edge is 6 and 6/8ths of an inch. However there does seem to be a little spine roll up top so when I also measure the bit of the back cover that isn't flush it matches up 6 and 7/8ths of an inch. Not sure if that makes sense. I just put my copy of ASM 26 on top of it and it lines up pretty well. The edges of the pages on the ASM 26 are rougher but it's a lower grade copy... If some pictures might help
  13. I am not sure what I'm dealing with here. I was excited that this book was sold at the grade it was listed as but now that it's in hand I wonder if it has been trimmed or altered. Would I be looking at a green label if I got this bad boy graded? Now the controversy... tell it to me straight here, gents... As you can see the pages are absolutely even and the panels run all the way to the cut line on some of these pages. We see the same thing on the opposite page in some, but not all, locations. I've got a fair number of silver age books but I can't recall one where the panels ran into the cut line like this. The pages do look very even but I have other issues like that. Maybe that has more to do with this one having a nice spine? Supposedly from a single-owner collection, bought by the seller himself as a kid off of a newsstand(!!!). Thoughts? Has this issue been trimmed? Would it be destined for a dreaded green label? Should I just return the damn thing? And of course what grade would you give it? I'm lost, crew
  14. The TMNT at that grade is the better investment so if it was for my 2nd best copy of AF15... sure, in a heartbeat. But ASM is my grail run and Spider-Man is the character that got me into collecting comics. I don't have a copy of AF15 yet but when I do I won't be obsessing over its appreciation OR depreciation. Not what that one is going to be about for me. I like TMNT but to be honest I've never explored the comics. Maybe I'd love em. But I KNOW I love Spidey
  15. Oh y'all thought I was done? Y'all thought I was finished?! This is my other copy of ASM 121. Basically I'm going to keep one and sell one, don't plan on grading either. Yesterday I said I would probably get both of these pressed but I think yesterday's could use a C&P while this one has clearly already had a pretty solid C&P done upon closer inspection. For the color breaks it has it lays very, very flat so there's really no doubt. No other way to get that. Still curious to see where you guys think this one sits. I wont spoil what I think though it's tempting You can also mention which one YOU'D keep if you want. I think I have made up my mind but I wonder how other people see things out of curiosity Got another maybe more interesting one tomorrow, from about 100 issues prior Thanks gang
  16. Nothing like an exclusive preview! Don't worry I won't tell anyone else, they'd be jealous about the inside info
  17. I'm especially curious how the cover tear impacts the score. Otherwise I think it would look pretty good after a press. I have two copies of this book and I'm trying to decide which to keep. Neither is worth grading but if this ends up being the one I sell I may have my LCS press it... I think It'd get the $15 back for sure in a stronger auction but maybe not. Enough blathering by me... Thanks gang
  18. Reminds me I should grab a Tick 1 before they try and revive that again. Loved that show as a kid
  19. Yes, for the film starring Blade but I feel like he'll show up in the Hulu horror stuff which is where they want to do R-level content I think. Blade fits in with the horror universe and Mahershala is a star... I think they'll use him outside of his own movies but total guess on my part ofc
