  1. Scarlet Witch DOES look great on that cover. When it's a $3 book again I might buy a copy or three
  2. TOD in general is taking off, even common issues. I don't think that's all spec, I think Marvel's horror stuff is generating fan interest for some reason. I am trying to complete a WWBN run and even the issues that have nothing to do with Moon Knight or Dracula seem to be ticking up. I'd kill to get TOD 10 alone for $400 in good shape. I really do think Blade is going to be huge in the MCU. I think he'll be one of the biggest characters in their R-rated space.
  3. Doesn't stop people from speculating on stock. And people really lose their shirt there. Hasn't closed casinos yet either. People love to gamble. The high of a win will keep people chasing as they lose 10x the value of that win. Can't forget that there are big winners too. I have an AM16 that I feel positive will grade at 9.4+. I'm sure it'll be back in my hands before Captain Marvel 2. And anyone else that snapped up copies of AM16 when they saw Rambeau in the trailer should have a shot to win too. But yeah some of these WandaVision books are surefire stinkers in 2 or 3 months if that
  4. I have sold several copies of my first appearance of Spot... I have been working on a Werewolf by Night run but I'm going to let go of my Spotlight 4 for now too. No way the first Darkhold continues to be a major key. I honestly never thought about the book as being the first Darkhold it's just the 3rd app of WWBN to me Hopefully it really sinks and I can get a NM copy in a few months
  5. It's lower now than it will be in a year or two years I think. I think Blade is going to be the big star of Marvel's horror stuff. He will have a huge role in the movies and the films in that part of the MCU. Got a huge actor for the role for a reason I should track down a copy myself
  6. I don't know if you would say that Venom #25 blew up but it was fairly hot for a few months until it was revealed who Virus was. A better example is probably when people thought that Luke Fox was going to be The Next Batman but it turned out to be Tim Fox
  7. Do you have to claim this? If so, can I ?
  8. Marvel is going to be getting into the horror subgenre as well through Hulu and film. I think Blade could be the centerpiece of all of that
  9. I guess I get to play contrarian today I don't think the Rambeau hype will be stable but I'm trying to get my minty ASM Annual 16 graded and out of my hands before that happens. Which I don't think will be for a while. I just sold a copy of Giant Size Captain Marvel #1 for $50 and that book was literally a free throw in with an order I made years ago. As for Harley I think the book was just undervalued before. Harley has a great character design and is super popular. Margot's adaption has been popular despite the films themselves being stinkers so why wouldn't her first appearance be in high demand? And as popular as Harley is among even people that barely know about comics why would it ever substantially recede? Harley is one of the very most popular new characters out of the 90s. As someone that grew up in the 90s... we're just entering our early 30s and having expendable income. I don't think that book is going anywhere. If anything it has a lot of room to grow, IMO. Madame Web was huge in the Spider-Man animated series and Hydro-Man is just a cool character that some fans like. I'm one of them, honestly. I always liked Sandman so of course I dig Hydro-Man. And I think his everyman character design to cement the Sandman parallel is great. I am actually trying to find a NM+ copy of 212 at a good price and have been for a while. All of these Z-list characters have fans, even absent of movie hype. I have like 5 copies of ASM #110 because I actually like the Gibbon. I think the Grizzley is lame but I am sure some people are drawn to him. Or Mindworm. Or Mirage. Or Will O' Wisp. The Hydro-Man is just because people like Hydro-Man and Spider-Man is super popular so between the run collectors, the key collectors and the Hydro-Man fans of course the issue will spike a bit. I think the durability of Hydro-Man's first appearance after his weak "appearance" in Far From Home proves that the spike is more based on people being reminded of a character they always liked rather than people thinking he's got some role to play in the MCU going forward. I don't think it counts as spec anymore but just my opinion As far as strange spec... the prices on Spectacular Spider-Man #98, the first appearance of the Spot, have blown up because of speculation that he'll be the main villain in the next Enter the Spiderverse movie. I have moved almost 10 copies of that book for $30 - $80 depending on condition in the last 10 days or so. I had a bunch of copies because I always thought Spot was a cool character with a cool character design even though he became a joke character eventually. I actually used to give away copies to friends that weren't really fans of comics because it was a $1 first appearance so I always scooped multiple copies out of bargain bins... I'm keeping my nicest copy for myself because I still think the Spot is a cool character but... There is no stinkin' way the Spot will ever be the MAIN villain of Enter the Spiderverse 2. I think he would be a brilliant character to include because he is really visually compelling but this sounds like a setup for Kingpin to return early in the film, the Spot to be his new henchman, and some other villain being the main villain. The first Enter the Spiderverse had a ton of villains. This one will have a bunch too. I would love to see the Spot in the movie and I hope that's true but there's no damn way he's the main villain. Spectacular Spider-Man #98 will be a .25-$3 book again in another 12 to 18 months. I'll buy up another stockpile of copies when it craters but I couldn't pass on moving those last week
  10. I avoid most of the variant cover craze but I do like most of the variants for ASM600/700/800. Not touching the 850 stuff but if I had seen this a week or two ago I would've scooped the whole lot. Oh well.
  11. I just picked up most of the #800 variants and I paid around $6-9 each like a sucker! This is a sweet deal!
  12. Does anyone think there may be a market for keeping books like UF4 polybagged, like there are for some 90's books and some of the comics sold in multi-packs in stores? I have a really nice copy that I think could score a 9.8 but it's still sealed and eventually there will be very few sealed copies out there since everyone is getting theirs graded... ... am I just talking myself into buying another UF4?
  13. ASM 26 - 3.5 CROW $53 Next time I'll try therapy instead
  14. Red Sonja 12 - 9.0 OW $5 , to make me feel better
  15. I was thinking hard about 168, knew it would go fast! Nice buy!
  16. Untold Legend of Batman 2 - 8.5 $3 If I had noticed that it was an Instant Collector's Item before I would've grabbed this sooner!
