  1. Venom 27 error 1:100 double cover https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=venom+27+error&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=10&_osacat=0&_odkw=venom+27
  2. As stated above the refund is done and over with - shipping cost. I refunded him, not a return so I would have had to pay for the return label too. Blocked him as well. His ebay name is below for any that care to block him or not buy from him: jorge1713
  3. I miss so many Omnibus/HC etc. I get around to getting the funds to buy something and then it is gone. All these publishers just put out so much stuff it hard to keep up. Been wanting to get the Savage Sword Conan Omni's. Got vol.2, vol. 1 is gonzo, and vol. 3 is getting short already it seems...ugh. Wanted that 4th world omni myself.
  4. Yea, so I just refunded him -shipping as this was clearly a "I'm an insufficiently_thoughtful_person and now I want you to fix my stupidity for me" case. His comments in the refund/return cue were even better-"damage was worse than in pictures" and reason for return "I don't like it" wahhhhhh . I copied and pasted the grade/description and attached the pics from the original listing and asked him what was unclear about them. I have also promptly blocked him. Crazy thing is he has a store himself selling comics and sports cards, and bids an item up well past the logical price. Most of the bidders jumped ship at $4-6 (the rational stopping point). This guy and two or three other bid this up to $22.50....wtf???!!!
  5. I've contemplated just refunding him and then blocking him as this kind of stupidity is just beyond me.
  6. And that is exactly how I was raised in a military setting to just be blunt, and not beat around the bush, with clowns. That is one of my fathers favorite lines!!
  7. So I put up a copy of Venom #25 2nd print wrap cover that I go on pre-order that had damage, and was clearly shown in the pictures, grade and description. I got the book site unseen and was refunded myself for the book to be transparent on this. The book in NM is/was going for $30-35 in NM so I just started a .99 auction thinking it would maybe get cover price. Well, lo and behold the bidders bid the book up to $22.50 which is plain crazy, and makes no sense, when there were plenty of other nice copies to be had in way better condition for the same price. Now the buyer gets the book and is asking for a refund/return because "I was disappointed, it's more damaged than I pictured". Huh????? Clearly buyers remorse because of lack of common sense. Here is the pics of the book and the description I gave. 6.0-production tear FC and BC that travels in to 1st page also resulting in wavy indents radiating from it What would you all do in this case? I really don't even know how to respond to this politely without being direct about not using common sense and bidding something up way past where it should have landed. I accept returns, and even pay for return shipping, to get the little bit more of a discount on ebay but this is not a misleading description or ship damage etc. This kind of behavior just baffles me.
  8. So do I but I'm not caught up with this Vader run yet. I looked through a copy and the only thing I can tell is that the female on cover is one of Padme's lookalikes I believe, and she is moving forward in the story similar to Aphra teaming with Vader in vol. 1. I'm still confused on the price increase on this one but it is what it is.
  9. Venom #27 already $10+ hasn't even hit the shelf. I'll tell ya, if this is not on your pull or your not pre-ordering multiples of this book and Thor moving forward you don't like to make $$$ on moderns. I tried to watch that show, I really did but.....
  10. Apparently his 1st app. in HOS has always been a scarce book according to sources in Overstreet Market reports. I was looking in to buying some copies a few years back and all I ever found on most sites was beaters if they had it at all. What is going on with him?
  11. Batman Adventures Continue 2 1st Sunny (deathstroke side kick?) https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=batman+adventures+continue+2&_sacat=63&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=13&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
  12. Can't be her I don't think as she was killed in that explosion in episode 2 or 3 right? Must be a different handmaiden. This Vader story takes place during ESB.
  13. ended $22.50. Others have the book BIN for $18+, what gives?lol. I have a few copies myself from pre-order so I guess I'll give a quick flip through one to see if there is anything special going on. Okay took a quick look through a copy. Seems female on the cover who I guess we all assume is Padme, is not? The book has flashback of Padme and Anakin on Geonosis going in to that gladiator pit with the beasts etc. This female was one of her handmaidens/lookalikes I think? If that is her on the cover and 1st app. in book could be the cause of spike as she looks to be moving forward in the story. Might this be a Doctor Aphra type character? That is all I can garner at this point
  14. Something going on with Darth Vader vol. 3 #1 and 2 both blowing up a bit. I guess #1 is a 1st app. of Zed something, but #2 no real reasoning why it is climbing to my knowledge. Anyone current on reading this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-MARVEL-COMICS-STAR-WARS-DARTH-VADER-2-NM-UNREAD-COPY-FLAT-RATE-SHIPPING/402348244686?hash=item5dadd2fece%3Ag%3A61EAAOSwG7JfJeZr&LH_Auction=1 p.s. 3000th post after 14 years.....
  15. oh hell yea snag them now, not when there is a sale. Someone else will get them before that probably. The big winner is #301 3rd print. I am still that I didn't preorder more than I did.
  16. Just slide your hand from the bottom of the bag up to the top to get all the air out of the bags before you tape them. I started doing this a long time ago when I noticed bags trapping air inside of them.
  17. I eats what feeds it #1-Scout Comics Gi Joe Complete Silence #1 IDW- Reprints #21/21.5
  18. For moderns I wear gloves as I tend to fingerprint/smudge books easily. I think it has to do with the fact that the inks are so fresh, and they haven't cured totally? On older books from the CA and before I have way less problem just handling them with freshly washed hands and tend to not see any type of fingerprinting happen.
  19. Obviously, E. Gerber Mylar is the ultimate in storage solutions but the cost is crazy if you are re-bagging an entire collection. If you are just starting, and buying only moderns off the shelf, then bagging everything in Mylar right off the bat would be the way to go. Buying direct from Gerber is only warranted IMO if you are buying in decent bulk as the shipping is a major factor. Call them and ask about the shipping as I believe the shipping quotes is a bit misleading in how they do it. Buying from someone else is actually easier, and in most cases cheaper, as those online sellers are buying in mass quantities and shouldering all that major cost themselves. But of course selling at a profit as they are a business. I buy my Mylites off ebay myself. I prefer Standard size over Current but that is personal preference as they give your books more corner protection. Some just like the cleaner look of Current bags as you see less backing board, but of course, that means less protection of those corners. I have accidentally wacked books against a table or something turning around with a book(s) in my hand and hit the corner. If the comics were in a current bag/board the book would have been damaged for sure. Fullbacks are amazing, but as someone else said, get very heavy very quickly especially if paired with a Mylite 2 or 4. If you are just storing these, and not moving around a lot like to shows to sell, this should not be an issue. Half backs are pretty flimsy but made from the virgin wood which is why you are buying them in the first place. You could couple a halfback with another regular board behind it for added rigidity, but at that point you might as well just use a fullback. As far as changing bags every 5 years that is not needed on moderns IMO. The paper is of much higher quality than the newsprint of old. In the case of old books, changing the bags and boards regularly would be optimal as the off-gassing of the paper and inks, and the acids leeching out of the paper, break down regular poly bags pretty quick sometimes. If the bags are wrinkling and changing color and the board is turning, I change the setup.
  20. I have a couple partial blue to solid blue holo's for some of these, but off the top of my head not sure which ones. I see a bunch of greens. These were supposed to be green or amber?
  21. I asked the same thing in another thread. I know I have a few of that issue and a couple newsies to boot, just never got that far in my reading of the HC's, or I did and just don't remember her. Anyhow yea, that book is climbing due to some Tynion news he's gonna use her in the Joker War storyline somehow.
  22. This is interesting. I wait to see what the final outcome is here, sheesh. Two times, and still not noted properly as an error or whatnot=ridiculous! 3rd time????
  23. I have to say, I don't like any of those "comic shipper" boxes. The design is good, but they are too narrow. The only benefit of that is they will fit into a USPS Priority legal flat rate envelope so you can pack them full and get that discount rate. With that being said, the huge downside is that the comics (bag/board will literally be touching the inside of those flaps that fold inward). I have had more comics come to me damaged in Gemini mailers than any other method of packaging I think. All these sellers tout them in their listings on ebay like they are the end-all of good packaging, but if no other care is taken in using a cardboard sandwich technique and securing books down somehow, they suck. I think I have gotten comics shipped in them and I believe they are a bit better than Gemini boxes IMO. If I was going to use them I would probably get the magazine size shippers. Below is what I've been using for years and they are above and beyond any Gemini box, or the like. https://www.ebay.com/itm/50-12-1-8-x-9-1-8-x-2-White-Multi-Depth-Bookfold-Mailer-Book-Box-Bookfolds/380917849548?hash=item58b0791dcc:g:PzsAAOxyx0JTi0nk Also I attached the pics of how I pack a book(s) to ship in them. The books never come close to touching the insides of the box if done right.
