    Do you have a link to the auction? Could also be the bidders misidentifying the copy, thinking it's something it's not.

    This was a live auction which I believe ebay just rolled out that works exactly like Whatnot where the sellers are talking and moving around grabbing books, etc.  I do not think that there is a sold listing to find as I just looked at ended/sold listings and there is no option to search for live auction results.  I went into the room, saw the book at like $30, and bids kept coming in as the clock ran down.  At like 2 seconds left on the clock a bidder would bid again, and the clock would reset to 8 seconds, I believe.  Saw the bids hit $60, then $80 something and finally ending about a minute after I entered the room for $108.  I assure you it was the regular Ramos trade dress variant, not the 1:25 virgin.  I was looking right at the book for over a minute.  That is why I brought it up here.  Live auctions bring out the crazy bidders with more dollars than sense as they say.  Now, was there a shill bidder or two in the room?  Did the winning bidder actually pay?  No one knows except the seller.

  2. I'm confused on the Doctor Aphra #33 Marquez Variant with Aayla Secura on the cover.  I was keen to the 4-6X cover price sales before Key Collector listed it on this weeks trending 20 as I always look at books I'm expecting from my FOC preorders.  Not Aayla's 1st app., and it is surely not a 1st cover or anything.

  3. I just so happened to stumble upon a Ebay live sale yesterday as I got quite a few notifications on my phone from from the site.  I clicked on one to just check it out (something I don't often do, because I hate watching videos on cellphones.).  Anyhow, the 1st book up for the live auction I caught was a Spider-Man #7 Ramos variant raw.  I missed where they may have suggested a grade, but it was in a bag/board so not much could be seen on the book grade-wise.  I couldn't believe my eyes when the hammer landed at $108...for a raw!  I cannot wrap my head around how some people get so caught up in an auction to bid items up like that, especially since they could have just grabbed an already slabbed 9.8 for the same price, correct?

    to my knowledge the only reprint of Black Panther #1 is the "True Believers" version.

    I was going to say myself, there is no Facsimile reprint of Black Panther #1...yet.  Only the True Believers reprint which is blatantly not the original with the banner on top and does not contain original ads, etc.

    Sounds horrible. At least shops should stay away slapping comics that are not grails (raw over 1000$) or keys that are 9.8.
    Like that Adam Blue Marvel why would someone pay extra for slabbed 9.4 than a raw high grade comic? There is zero change of restoration on those kinda books.
    and that comic book is still much better candidate for slapping than 95% of slabbed comics :/

    Agreed, shops should not be slapping their comics, especially grails....:kidaround:

    I still finally see some higher sales again for power girl 27.

    I think it is because there seems to be a Warren lowe artist issue currently out, that may have made past books come up under a search to get results.

    It could be that the latest FOC had the zombie homage to issue 1 of JLA Classified this past week bringing attention to the sought after covers for Power girl.

  7. Here is an odd one that I've never seen- ITW - In The Works 2.  I guess it is a preview book for the Haunted Mansion series from SLG that predates the Marvel run.  The mini from SLG is pretty scarce, and copies of the last few issues are really low print and can go for good coin.  This preview is probably a unicorn in the wild.

  8. Silver Surfer Ghost Light #1 Planet of the Apes variant.  I sold one less than a day after listing for $12.  I had to press it to get it to a 9.4.  Was about 8.5 beforehand due to a long indent on FC from dist. shipping and a NCD fold at the top corner that was pretty large.  There are some sales for up to $15-20, but I decided to price that copy a bit lower to see if it would move quick, and it did.

    There are a few OOP TPBs like that. Definitely not to this extreme, and I’m not sure why it’s the case, but I’ll keep selling.

    For sure, I sold a Werewolf by Night complete collection tpb vol. 1 about a year ago for $125 shipped, maybe?  These can still be found in the wild I'm sure at an old skool type store with tons of unorganized backstock.  Just one example off the top of my head.

    I was not sure how to play Skull & Bones 1 so it was a small order. It is based on a new video game so if that takes off it may have some legs.

    I ordered 4 myself from Dark Dominion but have yet to receive them.  I had 3 more ordered from DCBS, but they were cancelled as the book supposedly was cancelled by DH and resolicited.  I did not re-order the 3 from DCBS when they resolicited them.:(

    Actual sales are at about cover price though

    Only took a few days after release.  I'm sure not many ordered big on a video game comic wherein the game hasn't even been released yet.  That said, I'm sure that the people who don't have distributor accounts that are waiting on pre-orders from regular pre-order spots will bring some more to the table in the next couple of weeks, and start a race to the bottom price-wise.  We will see.

    I actually own the Ice Cream Man 24 and HaHa 6 connecting covers, and yet, it's the only moderns that I have with similarity for that kind of optioned stuff. I'm not sure the need to sell, but have only heard the going prices over the years. I mention because I got them in a Holiday raffle from a good friend. So Sentimental! There are just so many variants to those books, it is hard to believe they can retain the value, no matter how good? I guess that is why I'm contemplating selling eventually lol

    Looking now, HaHa #6 is the pricier. It used to be the Ice Cream man, I assumed I'd sell both at the same time since they are connecting covers, but idk. I guess I'm asking if there is hope? Or if this has turned to hording? lol keep for keepsake? lol I don't need to think that I have it all together, and must work at something to sharpen skills. I know the stories are good, I'm just not sure about "variants?"

    What is this Haha/Ice Cream Man connecting variant ya'll are talking about?  I have the whole Haha series with some of the cover B's and am not seeing anything that falls into that category.  I also have a few of the Ice Cream Man #24 covers.  Were these connecting variants store exclusives?

  13. I found my copies of those issues 8-13 of Superman/Batman.  I knew quite a few were not even close to the NM range.  I do have a duplicate set of 8-12 plus some triples/quadruples.  Will keep the nicer ones for my PC for now and sell the undercopies.  Some are as low as 7.5 unfortunately, but I'm sure I found them in $1 bins so I'd be happy to get $25-30 for the set if that is even possible.

    To calculate the final temperature after thermal equilibrium is reached, we need to consider the heat exchange between the two pieces of bismuth. We can start by using the heat equation:

    ΔQ = mcΔT

    where ΔQ is the heat exchange, m is the mass, c is the heat capacity, and ΔT is the change in temperature.

    We can first calculate the heat absorbed by the solid bismuth, which is given by:

    ΔQ1 = mc1ΔT1 = (27.7 g)(26.3 J K–1 mol–1)(253 °C - Tf)

    where Tf is the final temperature.

    Next, we can calculate the heat released by the liquid bismuth, which is given by:

    ΔQ2 = -mc2ΔT2 = -(277 g)(31.6 J K–1 mol–1)(Tf - 333 °C)

    Since the two pieces of bismuth are in thermal equilibrium, the heat absorbed by the solid must be equal to the heat released by the liquid, so we can set ΔQ1 = ΔQ2:

    (27.7 g)(26.3 J K–1 mol–1)(253 °C - Tf) = -(277 g)(31.6 J K–1 mol–1)(Tf - 333 °C)

    Solving for Tf, we find:

    Tf = (253 °C - 333 °C)(27.7 g)(26.3 J K–1 mol–1) / [(277 g)(31.6 J K–1 mol–1)] + 333 °C

    Tf = 324.4 °C

    So the final temperature after thermal equilibrium is reached is 324.4 °C.
