Nice to see everyone is still going along merrily :hi:

:hi: What's new from down under?

Nadda mate, just surviving as best we can down here.

Trying to slowly fill in those last gaps of the run, before i sit down and decide on th next great task...upgrading  am down to about 15 left for the complete run (non cgc and cgc'd).

How goes it in the land below Canada? :baiting:

  2. Danny,

You are right. The 59 isn't a black cover but it is a toughie above 9.6. I have the 9.6 Oakland copy and it's as close to 9.8 as possible. The 42 is really hard above 9.6 (I have the Northland). I have the 52 Pac Coast.

The 41 9.9 is either a double or triple cover. Pretty insane book. I'll email you a scan of it.

    Doug

C'mon, Doug. Post it on the boards so all of us can drool over it. :baiting::kidaround: I think these guys are tired of seeing my 9.4's and want to see some real x-books.

    Casey

(tsk) They are all real x-books...some are just more well loved than others :luhv:

  3. A common scene repeated often amongst many a collector...

We all have our mini-grails, our guilty pleasure grails and of course our ultimate grails.

For me a chance to pick up my ultimate grail arose and i gladly took it up. The hard part is the waiting knowing that it is on its way, wining it's way from CGC to the land down under.

And walking through the front door to find a box waiting there and you start wondering "is it finally here"..and the funny aspect that hits you is that...you've been waiting sp patiently for it, and yet you patiently, cautiously open the box, pull back the bubble wrap... and there it lays

It's not Tec 27 nor an Action 1. It's not any number of landmark titles that populate the golden age and many times it is a point of some derision.

But for me it is the start of a title that i remember as being the first comic i ever read that stayed with me. The first title that i ever started collected and looked forward to each month (albeit a little behind those in that states) to read the stories of my favorite band of marvelous, merry mutants.

So at this moment, i be a very happy aussie and my greatest appreciation to Brent from Quality Comix!!

  4. Congratulations Aussie! You got a sweet book and you got a good deal if I remember right. That is the copy that Mr. Highgrade hooked you up with a while back, right?

Nope missed out on that one, this was from Quality comics...so i be quite happy with that

I'd be happy too. He hooked you up with a sweet one :applause:

    Thanks mate (thumbs u

Next i'll think about submitting my Amazing Adventures to see how well they stack up against your brilliant, blinding bodacious Beast books!!

(i think just killed the alliteration :busy: with that one)

  5. Well I've gone and done it....

  6. 6 down 31 to go

(thumbs u A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Or in this case, continues with another step.

At your age, with your drive and a bit of patience, I have no doubt that you will put together one of the top silver runs over the next 5 years or so.

    Congrats, Danny!

Not if we stop him...

  7.

Thank you, guys. It was a lot of wampum (as Jim calls it), but a voice in my head said "this is a once in a lifetime opportunity." Who am I to argue with the voices in my head? It worked out for Joan of Arc.... or did it? hm
