  1. "A narrative disaster?" I'm not surprised. My first reaction after viewing the first trailer was:" What the?!? How are they going to adequately deal with all that stuff? It took a decade of comics to cover all those characters and plot elements!" There just seems to be waaaaaay too much mythos and too many characters in this movie to be able to do it all justice. Amazing Spider-man #3 anyone???
  2. I for one think he's the most interesting new Marvel character from the last 25+ years.
  3. Understood. We don't have such stores in my neck of the woods.
  4. Yeah, but the last 2 issues of Immortal Hulk are included. Sounds like theft or something. I find it hard to believe that someone buys these at $3 or so a pop ad then immediately dumps them off at a used bookstore for almost 100% loss. Makes no sense to me. Something is surely amiss... And @bellrules. How are you? Do you have another 80 boxes to sell me?
  5. My questions is: how do brand new books end up in $1 bins???
  6. I wish I had kept the photos of the Golden Age Caps I found in a $2 bin about 8 years ago. BEST $2 bin find EVER.
  7. Hey all, The 2nd edition of the Capital Comic Book Convention is coming up soon. I highly recommend it for comic book fans. Why? Because it's just comics. Nothing else. No guests (as far as I know). No toy dealers. No Costco and/or military recruiter booths. No Cosplayers. JUST comics!!! The 1st edition was really fun, despite being organized at the last moment. This time the organizers have had more time to prepare and advertise, so I'm expecting a larger turnout. And I believe there will be even more vendors than last time. You really should check it out if you're nearby. Facebook Business Page Facebook Event Page
  8. A real shame, because it truly is one the best comic book series of all time.
  9. I'm indifferent towards crime stories, so I haven't read any of his crime-related titles, which are most likely his bread and butter. The only work of his I've read is Captain America (not the full run yet) and his Shi'ar/lost Summer brother X-Men arc. Both of which I really enjoyed.
  10. In all fairness, there are multiple CGC-graded copies that have sold on Ebay and as you can see, some still exhibit traces the red foil. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Venom-Lethal-Protector-1-CGC-9-6-SS-MCFARLANE-Black-Cover-Printing-Error-Variant/303053200813?hash=item468f60ddad:g:GosAAOSwUjVcWy-6 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Venom-Lethal-Protector-1-CGC-9-8-Black-Cover-Printing-Error-Key-Movie-Rare/123667630064?hash=item1ccb2a47f0:g:IW0AAOSwrhNcdtGW https://www.ebay.com/itm/Venom-Lethal-Protector-1-CGC-9-6-Black-Error-Cover-Super-Rare/113689477570?hash=item1a786bc1c2:g:2eQAAOSw8adcjZJ0 So what makes you think that the one you've presented above is a fake? It looks much like the CGC copies. What distinguishing marks am I missing? Because I'm about to submit one that has plenty of foil left around the typography and edges of items. It looks like the printer was offset. Thanks!
  11. Yeah, no surprise. That sure was a big speculation book. My LCS has a stack that they had squirrelled away/over ordered. Good luck selling them now...
  12. I'm a white guy and I can say that Jackson AND Cruise almost always play the 'same' character. Pitt has proven to be more versatile. I'd also put Denzel Washington into the Tom Cruise category for the most part.
  13. I was thinking something along the lines of hearing a deep, powerful voice coming from the shadows saying: "I hunger." Followed by a brief glimpse of the Surfer stepping into the light.
  14. Well, it looks like this thread is closed. Thanks for everyone who expressed interest.
  15. Thanks Robert! And now Robert is a much more active member of these forums than I ever was. He's addicted!
