  1. CLASSIC!!! I once had a nice double cover this baby, but sold it. How foolish of me!
  2. Yeah, the problem with virgins like this is that the cover art was create to accommodate the trade dress, so they look out of whack without it due to the large empty spaces in the layout.
  3. My favorite is the regular colour one with the title on it. The virgin looks empty on top, and I just don't care for b&w versions of colourized books. Which is your favourite?
  4. I come across #75 much more often than #1 in my neck of the woods for what it's worth.
  5. And for that very same reason I would NEVER buy a PGX book of that value. Better to bite the bullet and get it graded by CGC.
  6. What about the 1st appearance of Red Hulk? Is it not officially issue #1, even though he's not inside the issue, just the cover? I happened to flip through a copy earlier today and I did not see a Red Hulk anywhere... Or did I miss the panel he's in?
  7. The last issue is Schomburg too (I think that's the issue I have...). Good for you!!! It's a cool book. I much prefer his good girl art than his superhero stuff.
  8. GREAT books! I can't believe the Wonder Comics #13 is worth that much incomplete . I have an incomplete copy of the last issue of the series, so this makes me happy to learn! GLWTS!!!
  9. I never had the urge to purchase a single one of them. I thought they were eyesores. And tacky gimmicks. At least the DC ones didn't give me vertigo when I looked at them.
  10. One of my favorite all time comics. And one of the few series I actually own in floppy (I'm not a "collector." I buy, read and sell most comics.) It's amazing how I can find back issues of this series all over town under cover... Quite sad to see quality books linger, unloved in bins. If they can adapt The Terror into a TV series, they can do the same with Manifest Destiny. All they need is the budget (and talent) for the creature effects.
  11. Same here. But one must sell'em if they've got'em when the iron is hot!
  12. Really? Good to know. I think I have about 5-6 copies kicking around. Thanks!
  13. Serious question. Does anyone really care? Didn't Spidey have 3-4 different costumes during that time period? I seem to recall a white one and another metallic-looking one (not the Iron Spidey).
  14. ROM is a GREAT series. The Marvel series, that is. Buy them all and enjoy!!! It's one of the few runs I'd be willing to purchase one day.
  15. I hate it simply because many of us work hard selling our books while other folks conduct raffles (gambling)--specifically those who do so to raise more money than the book is worth. And it's become rampant. Just not a fan of it.
  16. I cannot stand those IG raffles. Isn't it illegal? It's gambling. I run an actual business and I ask folks who tag me on IG to participate in raffles to please not do so. Grrr.... I hope FB/IG cracks down on this. And I think they will eventually. I wouldn't sell to this buyer if I were in your shoes. I've come close to banning a few buyers who are repeatedly rude and disrespectful. The type who takes up literally 15 minutes of your time haggling over a $50 slab during a show, while being rude. That's time I could spend helping others find things in my bins.
  17. It's relative, right? Those books are wall books for smaller vendors. It's the kind of stuff I can sell all day at the cons I attend! It takes dealers of all sorts and sizes to be able to please every kind of collector/reader. Not everyone is interested in 4 figure books and/or pre-80's books. That's why I love this hobby. Something for everyone!
  18. It would be a VERY NICE added value for them to do so, given the cost of their services.
  19. Ah, I see. Ebay is messed up. It led me to a listing where the guy selling 9.4 or 9.6s for $40-50 USD each and it said he had already sold 115 of them. The link now takes me to the 9.9 listing.
  20. Are you talking about the Raimi Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire or The Amazing Spider-Man movies with Andrew Garfield? I for one could not stomach the latter series.
  21. Doomsday looked topnotch compared to what I saw last night in Venom. Right off the bat, the opening scene with the [NO SPOILER] falling from [NO SPOILER] looked like it was straight out of an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation.
  22. It WAS entertaining, but ultimately forgettable in my opinion. And a wise-cracking Venom just seemed wrong to me, but the last Venom book I ever read was Deathtrap: The Vault. So clearly I have no clue how the character has evolved since in the comics... Regardless, I find it lazy to make ALL characters 'funny', but it seems to be a winning formula. Just look at Guardians of the Galaxy. Those characters sure weren't funny in the comics back in the day.
  23. It was better than expected. I wasn't expecting much, and I'm not a fan of the Venom/symbiote characters, so I really cannot tell if it's at all faithful to the comic book version. But as a movie, it offers nothing new. I can say that the special effects seemed rather cheap in comparison to other Marvel movies. I did enjoy the interactions between Eddie and Venom, but other than that I was indifferent most of the time. Long car chases and busy fight scenes are not my cup of coffee. Could have been better. Could have been worse.
