  1. I think you picked another good time. There are no other 35 cent variants to be found, and the Spider-Man books always do well. It is a shame those two guys that fought over your X-men 105 do not like spidey! Best of luck.
  2. Surprised I lost with a $200 snipe for 2 FN books To a (1) feedback bidder.....who woke up one day and decided to collect Cat 5 variants, and snipes, and brings the pain. It is probably just me, but something is fishy, probably a good thing you did not win Carl. Anyhow, "moneymaker" will make no money on those.
  3. They are NOT hard to get--they are hard to afford! You have guys hitting BINS for crazy prices, making the comic community think their John Carter 1 variant is now a $80 - $150 book. Well, it isn't so, as witnessed by the earlshaw and the KDK99 auctions. I ask all the time: rare--yes, but who wants them besides a couple of us chasing the run? You still have some I need. Hook me up.
  4. There is no real explanation for the prices of the 105 & the 106. I was shocked at your 106 auction. If I was guessing, I would say the BIN was hit on your auction, because the person may have been tired of what a couple of hoarders/speculators have been doing to the price. Again, congratulations to the prices realized by Stephen and you, Kevin. I honestly hope a couple of these still have money left when I am selling a dupe or two......
  5. Ok--I am confused.... Norrin posts about the SW 1-4 auction that had the 3rd flip of the 9.4 and the other three graded---for a huge price.... Then Dr Neff loses me...I think he was talking about the other SW1 variant that ended with no bids once the seller split the auctions... And I have no idea what you are refering to, Robert. What am I missing? Can I get a translator?
  6. Does anyone know the deal with this book? It's a 35-cent variant, but over $1K right now - must be tax refund season. is right
  7. Like I was getting at in the other thread--congratulations to Stephen (forum member) and to the buyer:
  8. In case you guys do not already know it, both Comichunters & Cosmic Spider Man are the most proficient hidden variant scroungers I have ever run across.. Cheers!
  9. I cannot speak for too high, but I may have hit a $200 BIN. That is on my list of books to find that are "hidden" because of the SW fanatics... I was wrong about your WWT and I pity the person who finds the next one. Maybe the same guy needs a SW3??? If so, perhaps your BIN is too low.
  10. Where are you at James? Is this list still correct?
  11. Arrrrrrrrrgh I wish I would have seen that one first!
  12. way to go fastballspecial!----- serious question though--is that book worth $1.00 + shipping?
  13. careful--the next thing you know Marvel will have a new title out next month called "x-variant" and it will be your fault
  14. Minding that Paul was way out in front of this, I don't think any of the superhero books should be 5s. Only the westerns and the reprint books. I agree Dan, and the only thing 5'ish about the X-men variants are the price!
  15. No offense, Frank, but I bet there will be no snipes. Truthfully, I am surprised that the reserve was met. Bonas bid on two of the 35 cent variant westerns that were up last month, and neither got that high. This book is similar to westerns. It is rare, and it is a reprint book of a dead title. The difference with this one though, is that I have had two of them, so has Darthdiesel. I thought at one time that 4Gemworks had a duplicate in hand. Everyone I know that is trying to complete the run has one with the exception of Bonas. (he needs four others too, but I am not telling ) I got hammered before saying that I would buy a western variant before buying an Iron Fist variant........ This book falls into the same category. Though very rare, there is not the demand for it like for an ASM or Iron Fist 14.
  16. So the seller in Florida who found 150 35 centers did not/does not have any Hulks.
  17. everyone wants their books to be these mysterious high priced variants
  18. ---hits the reserve at $450 -- then puts a cushion on top of that???
  19. Just one more book guys. Any idea's? I am heading into Balto again this weekend.
  20. Hey Frank-- I see you listed it on Ebay. It will be a fun one to watch. I bid, but did not hit your reserve, nor did I think I would. I think you will do fine....... Speaking of WWT 15's--I just upgraded my first copy that I got from Carl (Darth) to a really sharp copy thanks to my buddy Roger (metarog).
  21. The only rare part of that one is the 9.8 part..... If you have $1k to waste on a variant, pick the western. Chances are that we will see several more "common" 9.8's long before another western variant in 9.0 or better. Still a nice looking book though!
