  5. Target Comics Vol 6 - No.9 1945-1946 - 5.0 Bought this book as a 6.5 from Metro, and of course it had a problem. There is stain/water mark on the front cover with a bit of rippling. If you look to the right of the Target side bar by the letters G & E you can see it. Barely noticeable from the inside and no bleed to the pages. Pages are very supple, white, and clean. Center fold well attached. BP = $130.00 Now = $100.00
  6. Animal Comics #28 - Aug-Sept 1947 BP = Free to First Purchase. This would be a really nice book, but.......................it has a problem. First of all it was manufactured with only one staple, at the top. Second, the last five inner wraps are detached. Looks like really bad staple job, and they were pulled off. You can see in the scans what I'm talking about. Pages are very clean and the book is complete.

  11. Try and get a small thread running this evening between 6/7 Central. Some golden age Comics & Stories, Giant Size Fantastic Fours, DD #158 & a few odds and ends.
  12. I'd have to be sauced to sit through an interview with him I would probably go to critical mass in about 5 minutes and just tell him to STFU.
  13. I use to do some sketch's, many years ago. This is the only survivor. I had some nice ones in storage at my X's mothers house as we were moving, and her dope head brother took them. Some nice Silver Surfer and F.F. ones. Probably in a land fill somewhere.
  14. Yes, the tape has to go. What is this, the Dark Ages? Easy on, easy off.
  15. Another one of my books purchased at least 35 years ago. This book would be a great candidate for slabbing, but it looks like it got dropped and dinged the bottom corner, and has a 3/4" tear on the cover. WTF. Book has nice edges, color, and has the feel of a new copy.
  16. thanks. I must have set something on top of it or who knows.
  17. Purchased this copy off a boardie in 2010 as a 9.2 and I thought it was in the ball park. I don't think I ever even read it. Its changed boxes a few times and now it has a ding/dent spot on the front cover and a light scratch as seen in the pic. I think a good press could solve the problem. Thoughts on grade drop. Book is very clean with nice pages.
  18. UPDATE: So, while we were at the Fan Expo a few weeks ago, artist John Ritchey signed this sketch he did for Kandyce, and took a pic. Problem was we took the pic with his camera, so we didn't have it. He said he would post it on his website, and it was like..................Ehhhhhhhhhhhh.' Well, he was a man of his word and got around to posting it last night. She has braggin rights in Muncie now.
  19. Sad to say those were the good old days. CGC had their sh eet together. I could send books down to Joey for pressing, he would run them over to CGC, and I'd have them back in about 6/7 weeks, not months. Slabs looked fine, no nose hairs, shards, Newton rings, gum wrappers, etc, etc.
  20. Bingo. If I'm really looking for raw books, the dealers have no problem sliding the book out of the "trick" Mylar. I also bring a very small flash light as the con lights are not very good. I can look at the staples better, and up and down the inside cover for color touch.
  21. suppose to hit 99 here today, and you could cut the humidity with a knife.
  22. this guy is a collector, and does not take a high priced book out of the Mylar to inspect it? LOL. drop 5K and leave the con and go home? then all of a sudden the light bulb goes off and "lets pull it out of the bag, and see if it's all there"? whoever this dealer was should not be off the hook either, selling Key books, and not going over them page by page to determine a price.
