  1. Bingo. If I'm really looking for raw books, the dealers have no problem sliding the book out of the "trick" Mylar. I also bring a very small flash light as the con lights are not very good. I can look at the staples better, and up and down the inside cover for color touch.
  2. suppose to hit 99 here today, and you could cut the humidity with a knife.
  3. this guy is a collector, and does not take a high priced book out of the Mylar to inspect it? LOL. drop 5K and leave the con and go home? then all of a sudden the light bulb goes off and "lets pull it out of the bag, and see if it's all there"? whoever this dealer was should not be off the hook either, selling Key books, and not going over them page by page to determine a price.
  4. Bingo. If these books are removed under security camera's it should not be difficult to track down who damaged this book, and boot his a zz out the door. And as for the original poster saying this was only an $80.00 book and no big deal. It is a big deal if it's a personal book. What if this was your AF #15? Then it's a big deal? I don't care what the value of the book is, there is no excuse for this garbage that continues at on and on.
  5. so they tear a corner off this book. slab it anyway. maybe the customer won't notice? are there camera's in this place to monitor what's being done? WTF
  6. I didn't know they used Bernie Sanders for that page.
  7. I made it to about the 4:00 mark, and couldn't take it anymore. What a Doosh.
  8. who reads digital books? that would be like going on a digital date. I want to touch it, and hold it in my hands.
  9. Found it. This should do the trick. Amazon has them too. https://yoebooks.com/
  10. hang on. I think I stuck a business card of his inside the book.
  11. +1 I turned it off after he said, one of the tricks dealers use is putting books in Mylar. I didn't know that was a trick. Here's a news flash for this Einstein. I always have the dealer remove the book I'm looking at. I guess he don't look at the inside for tears, marks, staple attachement, and on and on. You just fall for the Mylar trick, and never take the book out. How dare those dealers use Mylar. Second, it almost sounds like he says EPA instead of GPA. I didn't know the Environmental Protection Agency, prices comics. He's been to a "few" cons, so he knows his stuff about wheeling and dealing.
  12. I had a 6 pack of Stroh's on ice in the car in case you showed up.
  13. Thank you. I had wanted to go to this show last year, but never made it. I took Regina, and her two grandaughters as they had never been to a con. This show sure did change from the last time I was there. No Bedrock City, Metropolis, New Force Comics, but I still had a good time, just not enough time to sift through anything in one day. I just wanted to make sure those girls had a great time and they did. They wore me out but it was a blast.
  14. Oh, and I forgot I stopped by and said hey to Jeff, from Hot Flips.
  15. And that my friends is all there is to tell. Thanks for looking.
  16. My neighbors 2 young girls came over to hang out on the porch. Regina's grand daughters were happy to share the loot with them. Great kids all the way around.
  17. Sunday we headed to the candy factory to finish off the weekend. This place is enormous. Looks like an Amazon warehouse. They have tours running all day. Retro candy, you name it. Some day I'll stop in and go through this place.
