  1. I was splashing around the wrong book.
  2. Okay, I haven't been to this show in years, but plan on going next Saturday. Who's going? Maybe we can have a meet up somewhere at the con. I was looking through the guest list and the prices for photos & pics. I remember way back when, when Shatner or Adam West were asking $90.00 or more for a photo or sig, people were going ballistic over the price. Looking at the pricing, most of the big stars are asking that now, so it seems par for the course. I have been whittling my personal collection way down over the last few years, as I realize I can't go to the grave with it, but I still have some books I still like to collect, and may pick up a few things anyway. And if I see Greggy running loose, there might be a showdown. I hope to stop by and see Dale, Storms, Bedrock, Reece, and anyone else I can irritate. LOL.
  3. I hear ya, but do you actually think Nelson gives a rat's a## about anything in this thread?
  4. That's is the very tiny corner crease on the edge that breaks color. I was referring to the way the tip of the corner seems raised or curled up. Maybe it's just the way the book is laying.
  5. Maybe it's the way this copy is laying, but whats going on at the top right corner?
  6. I think 5.0/5.5 as is. That spine has some problems, and whoever presses it better know what they are doing?
  7. I think 6.5 is about right. If not for the scratching in the red W on the back cover, maybe a bit higher.
  8. +1. This guy is a real pile of feces, and a fricking liar. He's almost done with a book he's had for nine years, and now he's going to shoot people? LOL.
  9. After nine months of waiting, maybe a year, I would have been making a road trip.
  10. 100%. I could add to that but I'd get a vacation.
  11. I asked before, how long you had his books? You mean the POS books? If they were that bad, why even take them in?
  12. not that I've seen. I always clean the residue off after I'm done.
  13. Exactly so. It's not "right", but can almost certainly be easier. I've gotten slabs from auction houses before with a few light scratches that weren't mentioned. It sucks, and it's annoying, but it's also much faster for me to just buff it out than have to deal with emailing, waiting on a response, mailing the book back, etc. It's all a matter of how much you value your time over being "in the right." Exactly, I've bought slabs from all over the place, on these boards, and otherwise that came with a scratch or a scuff not mentioned. Unless it was hit with a #16 nail, I just buff it out.
  14. With all due respect, should we (the customer) have to now polish both sides of a brand, new case before adding to our PC our putting up for sale? That's like buying a new care off of the lot, and then getting it detailed. Of course not, but scratches and scuffs happen. I can't count the times I've had to use this stuff to buff out a slab. Just passing on some info. I'd rather spend 20 minutes getting a scratch out, that wait 20 months to send it back and get it reholdered.
