  1. Hell, that's not pajamas. That's a onesie.

I didn't want to speculate on what the rest of that outfit looked like...but the thought crossed my mind.

What are the odds they were "footie pajamas"?

  5. I just escalated my case against cap. I really wanted to give him a chance, but after reading his comments to those he wronged & his complete lack of humility or sense of right & wrong- no dice. I am really disappointed in him.

Me 3 - I publicly asked him for a refund yesterday, and his reply was unbelievably snide. I hope Paypal kills his account.

Kudos for keeping your calm over that Michael. I wouldn't have done.

Very odd situation over books that were priced so cheap, I wondered if it was too good to be true.

Maybe someone assumed micro-transactions below $25 wouldn't lead to complaints.

    (shrug)

It shouldnt really matter what the price of the books are or the total of the transaction. People bid on stuff because they want it, period. Just because its a small amount doesnt make it less important to a customer. Theres a proffessional way to do business on both ends, and updating someone with a e-mail only takes a minute, no matter what else is happening. Ive watched this thread from the get-go, and this guy is just a punk the way he talked to everyone. I also am surprised

MSCHMIDT kept his cool, but he handled it better that i would have.

He also totally ignored alot of good advice and kept his mouth going with smart azz comments. He needs the boot though.

  6. Can someone please scan the image of page 11 from JIM 66 for me? Thanks

O.K. Ive got this issue and am looking at page 11 right now. What are we looking for here.? If you want me to scan it, it will take a while to upload it to photo bucket.

  7. I have to chuckle everytime I see the "Doctor Doom" verbiage on this issue. The only thing this monster has in common with Victor Von D is the iron mask and nada else!

Also, I believe this was on the stands at the same time as FF#5 - as both have a July 62 cover date.

I notice that alot of the pre-hero monsters in these books never looked like what they appear on the cover. This issue has the monster almost looking like he has a green suit on. But inside, he's the typical Kirby,Ayers brownish orange.

  8. This smokin' lil' Doc Doom prototype ish was waiting for me when I came home:

    TOS31.jpg

    :applause:

    Nice pickup! :applause:

For whatever reason my brain is just now registering that Kirby did a pretty good drawing of that car. hm

The car + the buildings are especially detailed, but the faces of the people are not. They look like they were inked over a rough sketch + not "finished". Any idea who did the inking?

I just looked at my copy of this book. First page has Kirby and Ayers.

  9. $4.80 with tracking online, any way you cut it :makepoint: Are you telling me someone here doesn't know how to do that? lol

I only ship in priority boxes for safety reasons. I usually lose on every sale I do (on shipping), but i would rather the books be safe. Too many books get jacked up in envelopes.

    (worship) Gospel.

I never use envelopes either, no way. I also think the Priority boxes are a bit too flimsy. I use the U-Line box mailers which are thicker (57 cents ea ), and affix a Priority sticker on that, if the buyer wants Priority, their choice. Otherwise it goes media. Never had a book damaged yet using them, envelopes was another horror story.

    Just my 2c

  10. Listing today (little later in the afternoon)

The beginnings of a big OO collection.

The books are all over the place bronze, copper, modern.

Mostly this guy collected number #1s, but there's a few silver in there too.

    Grades are fine to NM+

Image, Marvel, DC, Charlton, some nice obscure indy stuff.

I'll be posting in the Bronze/Copper forum

What time you think youll be starting. Any F.F.'s, Daredevils?

  11. Whenever I see a sales thread of his I'm reminded of this one

    I overgraded everything for eBay

Where he basically says he overgrades books by a full grade on eBay for his customers.

    Just FYI for folks:

The sales list was created for some past ebay customers of mine, therefore expect "good ebay grading", not the ultra tight grading of these boards. (no insults to my grading here please)

I will admit right here that the low grade stuff is overgraded by 0.5 point average, and the high grade stuff is overgraded by 1.0 average. This is an average, your mileage may vary.

    Thank you. (thumbs u

    Andy

I still cant believe this guy admits to overgrading. His customers expect " good e-bay grading". WTF. Nothing like insulting your customers! So his customers expect overgraded . That makes sense to me. :screwy:
