  1. I saw a Marvel Premiere 47 about a 9.2 raw priced at 140 at a con today. :ohnoez:

Why? It's not even his first solo run, that was like 10 years earlier.

Scott Lang is the rumored Ant-Man in the upcoming film and it's his first appearance.

just goes to show how i haven't been paying attention and I even read all my comics back i the late 70s and early 80s.

There are lots of different rumours about who will be the movie Ant Man, some say Hank Pym, some Scott Lang and some Eric O'Grady.

i went through all 20 boxes i had looked through for GOG and thanos books and, of course, this marvel premiere was in the LAST box i went through, though i did find 3 coies of Nova 1 in my search and some more GOGs I had missed as well as another thor 225 (although i'm guessing the whole firelord thing has cooled off, right?)

Thor # 225 always sells for more than the surrounding issues.

  3. I am currently looking for early issues of 2000 A.D. especially programs #149 and #150. I didnt know if I would be better off looking for them in the US or shopping for them from a UK source. I am not well versed on the values of A.D., so what maybe some of the prices for back issues? I know some are jumping in price, I was able to get Program #2 very cheap on the forums. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Congrats on getting prog 2 cheaply. 149 and 150 being the 1st appearances of Judge Death and Judge Anderson are some of the more sought after progs. Values aren't that high compared to American comics but I haven't tracked prices to see where they are currently.

What kind of condition are you looking for? High grade copies are very hard to find.

  4. Won't be buying from Quicksilver again.

Bought a book advertised as 'VF/NM', they just kept the VF/NM (still for sale on their site) and sent a book that is clearly no better than a Fine Minus with moderate foxing.

Sent an E-mail about it and got no response.

So yeah, won't be buying from them again.

You could always try a PM to them and see if you get a response. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showprofile&User=1793

Maybe you should come to the London mart on Feb 3rd. :baiting:

I'll be there, for what it's worth...

Me, Dave & probably Gary will be going for a pint after if anyone is interested. (thumbs u

I'll see if I can drag myself away from all the mayhem...

I'd love a pint afterwards but will be hauling a van full of comics back up to Hertfordshire.

Hope the bloody snow will have cleared by then... :wishluck:

    Damn right to that. :tonofbricks:

I probably will be too though I haven't booked a table yet.

  8. X Men # 141 & 142 are showing as going up in value significantly on GPA and I've had several enquiries from people looking for copies.

at shows in the mid-80s dealers had huge stacks of these at every table. heavily speculated on books. with that said, they still wanted $3-$5 a pop for them even back then, which was real money in 1985.

just makes me wonder if quantity will eventually swamp demand. then again, ASM 300 and FF 48 had nice movie run-ups.

Not for a while. LoDK had the same issue with the 11-15 storyline that was the basis for the movie. Sets sold easy for $50 for quite a while before demanded slowed down.

I think the lodk blip lasted for about 5 seconds (ok, not actually, but it felt like it). i ran out and pulled a bunch of those from dollar boxes around brooklyn within days of reading (here) they were "hot" only to see the prices had taken a huge dive. maybe they popped up again later.

Days Of Future Past actually sold for decent money before the movie was announced and now it's gone into movie hype levels. Even if it drops back to previous value, it's no disaster for anyone trying to sell them (unless they paid silly speculation prices).
