  1. I have printed off the cover on A4 paper - the image is not bad. PM your address and I will post to you. I would request an Action # 1 cover but not sure if you can afford it.
  2. Is he still on the boards? I haven't noticed him posting in years.
  3. Yeah, I think that anyone who has sold at comic shows before has encountered many kinds of customers. Lots of rude and/or ignorant people buying comics out there.
  4. My early comic buying memories don't go back as far as some of you guys. In the 80s, I was just buying comics from the newsagents in Hemel Hempstead or Apsley and the first comic shop that I found was FP in Milton Keynes which wasn't actually that bad at the time. Soon after that I found Chaos City Comis in St Albans which was run by Rich Emms and Derek Watson. After several years, Rich left to do other ventures and ended up with a shop in Stevenage where Whizzer goes to now. Derek still runs Chaos City but after Rich left, they didn't keep any back issues to speak of. I bought comics from there for thirteen years before moving my subs order to John Skoulides. The only other place that I used to often find comics in the early to mid 80s was at a local car boot sale. I used to buy a few and now I can't understand why I didn't buy everything they had. Unfortunately I didn't take care of my comics well back then either and I destroyed an FF # 16 that I remember finding there.
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll send him a PM. (thumbs u I sent Symbiotic a PM, he's read it and not replied so I'm assuming that he's not interested.

  8. OK, we're drawing close to the end of the month so I just wanted to ask if anyone wants to be added to the PM list or taken off of it. 9. Yeah i saw that, that's why i asked. He didn't put no shipping outside the US and only changed it after you asked. Look on the bright side though, Iron Fist rocks I have edited correctly... Lies I seem to remember you being the owner of an Iron Fist # 14.
  10. In some cases it might be to do with getting higher value books insured. A recent purchase of mine ran into this issue and I think that postal insurance rules may have changed as I hadn't had the problem before.
  11. Yes please, how does it work? As some may have gathered my interests are Miracleman/ Marvelman, Ditko Charltons and British Comic Fanzines... which I have a fair few of Brought up on 2000AD, Whizzer & Chips and Yorkshire grit... I have tons to sell actually... including a PENCE copy of ASM no.1 I'm on hols tomos (Hastings, South Coast) so catch you all soon The basics are that it is a large group PM consisting of UK and European boardies who can post comics for sale within the PM or want lists. The theory is that the participants will find more deals there as it's focussed within a short shipping range, than they would in the main boards sales areas. The first thread has been fairly successful and the next one will be posted at the beginning of July so you'll be included in that. The full rules and guidelines will be included in the PM. (thumbs u
  12. Do you have any interest in participating in the UK/Europe selling and buying PM, Ewan? We can include you in the July one if you'd like.
  13. But thats exactly what I am saying. I can't see them being interested in keeping a huge collection of say 10000 comics but they may appreciate being left a very valuable first appearance of Spider-man, Avengers, Batman etc. It would also take the pressure of them needing to find out what to do with a large collection as it would be a much smaller, better defined collection that would be easy to gather interest in. Very good points. Would they get interested in the expensive comics though if there weren't the reader comics to read and hook them in?
  14. I don't have kids. I will have a coffin made out of my slabs
  15. I find it interesting how many people are keeping their collections to pass onto their kids. I always liked the idea of my kids having my collection but figured that the chances that any of them would be interested enough to keep the collection were very slim so I left instructions with my wife on how to best sell the collection if I died and none of the kids were interested in keeping it. One of my daughters is interested in Spider Man and Hulk (and other characters that I show her) but it's still a long shot that she'll end up as a serious collector in the future. It's a bit of a moot point now that all my books are up for sale but I'm interested in how others see the idea of handing down a collection to their children.
  16. I'll add your name to the list for the buying/selling PM, it'll only be the second one we've done. The plan is to do them monthly. The next gathering hasn't been arranged yet but it probably won't be too far in the future. We'll be sure to let you know when it happens. Did you go to the London SuperCon in February? It was the closest we've had to a US style comic con over here and is being arranged again for next year.
  17. Hey Matt, it's great to see you around here again. Might we see you at the next London boardie get-together? We've recently started a UK/Europe buying selling group PM with over thirty participants. Would you like to be included in the next months PM?
  18. Halo 4 trailer gave my a funny trouser lump Hernia?
  19. Can you please name the UK boardie who ripped you off and in what way you were ripped off? Yeah I would quite like to know this too? I looked through the archives and the boardmember he's referring to was blahblahblah2007 (who I've never heard of before) who didn't ship an item that was purchased.
  20. Bought a bunch of raw books from Sam again recently and it all went smoothly. A great boardie to deal with. Thanks Sam. (thumbs u
  21. I think that for several years now, Incognito has been the only big dealer to attend with any regularity. Were they there today?
  22. It usually costs me more than that by Airsure Printed Papers, especially with insurance. What service do you use, Nick? As far as I know, standard Airmail is only a tiny bit cheaper than Airsure.
  23. ..... and that's just one of the reasons that I rarely use eBay these days. It's inhabited by wankers.
