  1. I'm not sure if it would be necessary, majority vote may be sufficient for any issues. What does everyone else think?

  3. I think that the idea is about right at the moment. Adams plan sounds good to me but with the requirement for an asking price and also one sales post per person in each PM. There is no time limit on editing PMs so that should work fine. (thumbs u However people should be aware that there will be no notification when a PM is edited so they should check in to see if anything has been added. BTW Adam, didn't get the group PM started by you. Oh yeah, and I think it'd be a good idea to wait a couple of days for the stragglers too. (thumbs u
  4. Sounds like a good idea to me. (thumbs u
  5. Count me in. Adam I wanna play too. Forget I said anything about adding yourself in, I'll do it. Hey Neil.
  6. I think it's doubtful that the mods will want to bother about giving a bunch of us our own section but I guess if we get enough names on the list then there's no harm in asking.
  7. I'll take a look at the list tonight to see what updates need doing and do them all then. OK, Chris has got the ball rolling with his PM. I'm wondering if one big ongoing PM might be better to avoid everybody getting their PM inbox filled up with lots of these PMs? What are everyones thoughts?

  9. We should probably leave the list open for a few days so that any stragglers can sign up. I can think of several more people who will probably be interested in being included.
  10. When we've got all the participants that we think are likely to want to be included then we probably need to agree on a few ground rules. I suggest that anything offered for sale must have an asking price and an estimated delivery price.
  11. It's probably easiest if people just quote the list and add themselves to it so that no one gets forgotten. I'll add you and Paul on anyway so that we're up to date. Whizzer Gaz2810i Arsenalherd Kevin.J Gaz973 Flaming_Telepath 1koko Waylander Stryfe1000 Buddymagoo
  12. Bloody hell, didn't know you even checked in on this thread, George.
  13. Gaz, You forgot me You didn't say you wanted to be on the list. Didn't want to be presumptuous.
  14. I suggest that we start a list of everyone who would like to be included in such a group PM. So far we have Whizzer Gaz2810i Arsenalherd Kevin.J Gaz973 We can just quote and add to the list. Sound good?
  15. So basically you get first dibs on all our books Seriously though, How about a group PM, where UK boardies can put books up for say first before they try the open forum Which is exactly what I was suggesting you dingbat! round robin pm = group pm
  16. The thing to keep in mind is that US buyers can usually find most books in the US for sale so it's quicker and easier for them to pick them up locally. Having said that, I've been selling on the boards for a long time now (and Nick and Andy have been selling here longer) and I sell far more to the US than the UK. I've had very successful selling threads and sold lots through PM's, the main thing is knowing if the comics that you're selling are likely to attract US buyers. More valuable books will sell because the buyer is more likely to pay higher postage for them, lower value books aren't likely to attract international sales because the shipping will probably be more than the comics are worth.
  17. Good luck, they're some good deals if the gradings good and they're clean of resto.
  18. Looks a risky one to me, mate. Chances of decent grading are slim, I blew the picture up but it was to blurry to make much out from it. The # 4 & 6 look to be pence copies from it. Wasn't sure if there was a big chip out of the spine of the # 6. Let us know how it goes. well says no returns but if well off grading i will return as ebays policy, i dont mind pence copies, just want to finish off runs How did the X Men run turn out, mate?
  19. FP had a proper back issue, how much did they want for it?
  20. Those high grade Bronze books for £1 each that you picked up at Kapow should be a good profit. . No way! Those were keepers! This is virtually my entire collection from 1990 onwards, plus lots of tb's, mags etc. Show me the money! i have done well at the local auction for last 2 months, selling piles of 100 dross comics from £30-£70, after that other bloke bought even more its now looking good in my room plus im buying some great keys with just using profits Clearing loads of space and gaining a pile of cash? Very satisfying.

This is virtually my entire collection from 1990 onwards, plus lots of tb's, mags etc. Show me the money! Have you done antique/collectors fairs before? No, but in addition to comics, I've got quite a lot of old movie, sport and music memorabilia that I've hoarded over the years and now want to get rid of and which is too nice to put in a boot sale. I've also had some cards printed up saying I buy comics, which I give out to punters, so I'm hoping I might get some leads from those. I quite enjoy doing them, and it's a good way to make some money and free up some space. I want to try a few different venues to see what works. I'm not risking anything and it's all good experience. Good luck, mate.

  24. There is actually a thread on the Comics General forum on this very subject, which has a couple of recommendations in - maybe PM Mike for more details? Insurance thread One thing these guys haven't considered (for obvious reasons) is what options Royal Mail might have - you should check that out too if you haven't already. Adam Thanks but this is all within the US. I want to know what UK collectors/dealers do when shipping expensive items from the UK to the US. Royal Mail Airsure will insure upto £500 and Parcel Force will insure upto £2500.
