  3. Marmat would probably be interested too. Just trying to think who else might be.
  4. Can you list who you've sent to in case we can think of anyone ele?
  5. And Collector_Bill Sorry Bill, should've remembered you.
  6. Yeah, I think that's the plan. We've just been giving it a few days pause for any other boardies to sign up. It might be worth PMing some that don't frequent this thread including our European buds to see if they would like to join the list. Off the top of my head, it might be worth sending PMs to T3quila, He'sDeadJim, Romain, Cryptkeeper, Osborn_fr, djc81 and Chromium.
  7. This is what I wrote in my sig box under "my profile" My selling and buying feedback Can't remember how I came up with that but it forms the link saying "my selling and buying feedback".
  8. Guess. I think I'm more John Cleese. That's not a compliment you've given yourself there. I think you're more Harold Lloyd.
  9. Guess. I think I'm more John Cleese.
  10. You'll love it when I get to do a show or two later in the year then, I'm compiling 20p and 50p boxes with buy 5 and get 1 free signs.
  11. Sorry I missed you. I'm sure I added myself to this but I'm not on there? Yeah, I think I remember you adding yourself so I'm not sure how you got cut out. It's probably best if everyone checks that they are on the list.
  12. And what was wrong with the old blood There is not much old blood left. We might get to see a few comic pics on there, what with you still not having a scanner Too busy buying up the comics you have yet to get yer paws on - they are few and far between tho. Anyway I don't even have a pc anymore - use a xoom now. This is 2012 y'know. What the hell is a xoom?

  14. I still like the idea of using both. I think I would sell on the Comicopolis boards with the view of linking to it in any PM thread. I also think you can try and sell on these boards with a link in the threads that alerts all UK boardies to the thread but like Nick says doesn't limit your market if yo have a high value book. Sounds good to me, I can't see any reason why any of us can't use a combination of PM and Comicopolis forum. (thumbs u
  15. Of course you can Lloyd. Sorry I haven't got back to you after talking on the phone recently, been looking out some stuff for you. Was gonna let you know about this when I PM'd you.
  16. Well, I think there is a definite genuine interest in the idea so it's just a matter of how to go about it. An official place on the boards is obviously down to Arch and the mods to decide and there are concerns about possible resentment from some board members. Since we can't do anything about that until there is some kind of communication from Arch, we should probably focus on our other two current suggestions. A group PM is a possibility and is certainly workable. The boards PM system is very user friendly. The PM could be a bit cramped though. The Comicopolis forum is another possibility. There is a lot more space to operate there and we wouldn't have to worry about treading in the toes of CGC. Adam has the problem of is work PC blocking the site though and some people may not like the idea of checking out a separate forum. (I do however recommend signing up to the Comicopolis forum anyway, it's a very friendly and relaxed UK based forum and a few of us in this thread have been members for some time). I think a poll may be worthwhile to get an idea of which way the opinion is going. PM vs Comicopolis and you can vote for both.
  17. Why would it do that? There would be nothing to stop people listing higher value books in the main sales forum (in fact in practice I am sure they would be more likely to do so) and post links in the UK thread. I think we are mainly talking about lower value books and sets here. At the moment those are not being listed at all by UK sellers, so there's no audience to be limited and no sales to be cut. I'd argue that a UK sellers' forum would do the opposite of what you say. You list books in the appropriate Marketplace section, every UK buyer can see them and so can everybody else. You have a UK-only section and every UK buyer can see them...but very few other people will venture there. Lower value books sell internationally...I know because I've sold thousands...and the only problems you have is that (a) nobody else in the UK bothers listing them and (b) few UK sellers, barring Garry and Andy, have a long resume with international buyers. Before we reinvent the wheel, why not try to sell under the current circumstances and see how it goes? A round-robin PM would be useful for everybody to link their latest thread in the Marketplace - but then I'd suggest you also include all of our European colleagues, as shipping from the UK to mainland Europe is a hell of a lot cheaper than from US to mainland Europe. One other potential down-side is that an anti-Brit sentiment can be generated by us requesting our own section. If you've been here long enough, you'll know that anti-Brit sentiment bubbles just below the surface with many and I could possibly see a mess-storm over this that will not help us. Just sayin'... Hey Nick, I think that you've been able to sell lots of cheap comics internationally because you've got such an exceptional reputation and large customer base on the boards which I think makes you the exception to the rule that US buyers don't want to pay the shipping cost on cheap books that they can probably pick up locally. Occasionally one of the UK guys does give a shot at selling some cheap books here and the thread usually gets bumped off the page very quickly due to lack of interest. Also, some of the guys who don't sell regularly may just have a preference for not posting internationally. I've got some stuff that I would consider giving a shot with the UK guys that I wouldn't bother listing in the regular selling forums as I'd consider it a waste of time. I had considered that it could be worth PMing the European boardies if we got the idea off the ground, I can think of a few who might be interested. The point of a possible anti Brit sentiment is valid and may certainly be a reason to think twice about an official UK selling area.
  18. Maybe I'll send Arch a PM later to see if there's any chance of a UK selling area here.
  19. Everyone could have their own selling thread there, eliminating the problem of it all being overcrowded into one PM.
  20. Actually this idea isn't without merit. On the Comicopolis forum we could have a whole forum section devoted to it. Not to mention there would be a few other members who would probably take part.
  21. Yep, I think that's settled. (thumbs u
