  1. I'm hoping to get round to seeing it so just showed the trailer to my missus who liked the look of it.
  2. I bought some slabs from Chris and I couldn't have asked for a better seller. He put in a lot of effort to find the best shipping option, packaged them superbly and supplied some great books. I highly recommend Chris as a great seller, buy with confidence. (thumbs u
  3. Good god. I still can't believe that some people actually took this seriously.
  4. Im not a professional by any means but if I got that copy in the mail I wouldn't be happy. Dinged up corner and noticeable spine issues. No chance at that being a 9.8 from even the most generous of graders. Well he only claims it to be a 9.6 but after looking at the scans I don't think even a 9.6 is in the realm of possibility. That's part of the reason he doesn't sell those raw books here with those grades. More suckers on Ebay. That book isn't even 9.4. A 9.2 would be super generous. Quoted for absolute truth...I promised I wouldn't say anything, but I can comment on other peoples posts. I was beginning to think that 4 major spine creases is acceptable in the 9.6 grade. Jim It was for the Iron Man #55 my LCS submitted a couple of months back. The owner and I had it pegged at 8.5, maybe a 9.0. It came back 9.6 which meant monies for him To be fair, occasionally CGC's grading is as bad as Divad's. I sold a raw Silver Age book as a VG a few months ago, the customer submitted it and it came back as a 6.0. It was truly appalling grading by them and a good demonstration of the fact that sometimes they're just plain wrong.
  5. All this is because people are guessing that Domino is going to make it into one of the upcoming movies? It's not like there's been an announcement or anything. You guys are gonna be blushing when it turns out to be Boom Boom who makes it into the Deadpool and X Force movies. The day will come for Secret Wars II whateverthehellissueitwas.
  6. I agree, # 8 should be her first appearance. I suspect that CGC just overlooked that one. Looked through X-Force #8 and Domino is all through out the book. So, Domino's 1st appearance is: New Mutants 98 X-Force 11 and now X-Force 8 Marvel.com has her 1st appearance listed as X-Force #8 so... back to searching the dollar bins "Domino" is on the cover to #8, just like NM#98. However, looks to be a Strange Tales #114 type of issue, exepct carried forward over several issues. http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_11 "Domino is studying up on her teammates when Deadpool makes his appearance. He knocks Domino around and continues to call her Vanessa. He reveals that she has been working as a mole for Tolliver and has been giving him trade secrets on the team but has stopped recently. They continue to fight and Deadpool threatens that she must start giving Tolliver what he wants or Tolliver will come after her. He then reveals that she is not really Domino and has just taken her persona....Tolliver enters the depths of his secret castle. He walks with Pico and enters a room where he is keeping a prisoner. He states that she has been there for more than a year and has not adjusted to their hospitality. The prisoner is revealed to be none other than the real Domino." Thus, #11 is the 1st appearance of the 'real' Domino, as the CGC label states. New Mutants #98 and all of the pre-#11 X-Force books are Copycat, impersonating Domino. Nope. Check the info for issue #8, including: Supporting Characters: Domino - (Only in flashback), (First appearance) …We're given a glimpse of Cable's past for almost the rest of the issue. He's the leader of a team called Wild Pack… Domino appears in flashback, and presumably this is the actual Domino, long before her abduction. http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Force_Vol_1_8 Yep, sorry Aggiez but this is correct. The Domino in X Force # 8 is the real one making # 8 the first appearance, not # 11. But who's to say that it's not the real Domino on the cover of NM 98? It's not a part of the story, therefore her status is not certain, regardless of the interior. Cover apps rule in my mind. You're probably correct in that people looking for the 1st Domino appearance will go for the # 98 like RMA said earlier. It certainly is the first appearance of her likeness.
  7. But you haven't always. Are you not willing to entertain defending your raw grading at all? As someone pointed out earlier, your history of returns for raw books on Ebay is not very dispositive of whether you're un/intentionally overgrading. What I am doing other than offering a friendly wager to quantify what you say already exists? Divad's never gonna go for it as he stands to lose face and I'm betting he doesn't feel too confident about winning. Don't know what he expects when he keeps on posting his auctions in this thread for people to scrutinise so often. Personally, I won't sell a raw book as advertised more than NM even if it is higher. If someone is going to do that then they should put their money where their mouth is IMHO.

  9. I agree, # 8 should be her first appearance. I suspect that CGC just overlooked that one.
  10. I think I remember hearing that Jessica Jones would be the one to follow on from Daredevil next.
  11. Hey Phil, good to see you're still around. You gonna make it to LSCC so we can finally meet, next year?
  12. Waaaaaaaay too many Andrew's on this board. By Andrew I will clarify to the n00bz that we are not referencing Thirdgreenham, Beige nor myself. In that case it must be Andrew, Andrew, Andrew, Andy, Andy, Drew or Drew.
  13. I suspect that Guardians of the Galaxy will be extremely profitable from a merchandising standpoint.
  14. Congratulations. I spent 5 minutes earlier today researching that book because you mentioned it. Nearly bought one too. Damn you RMA. Damn you. You wanna know the best part...? I literally pulled that issue out of thin air. Had no clue what was in it. But watch... It wouldn't have worked without an obscure first appearance. The odds of randomly selecting such a book is very, very low. so ... And yet, that's precisely what happened. Why are you calling me a liar? Especially over such an utterly inconsequential fact, about a book about which no one cares, and has little redeeming quality, especially in light of my beyond obvious tongue-in-cheek "attempt" to "create buzz"? Some people don't understand boundaries. Even I thought it was funny, especially when people really did start taking it seriously.
  15. You were the first person to tell me I did not know what I was doing. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=76949&Number=1405459#Post1405459 Looks like you took it well.
  16. These are good questions, as you would assume Silver Sable is tied in with Spider-Man, and Alpha Flight would be with the X-Men franchise. That sounds like the logical answer to me. (thumbs u
  17. I was friends with Nick (Flaming Telepath) and he mentioned this place a couple of times during conversation. Then when he knew I was looking for a Captain America # 100, he put me in touch with Arex, who had one for sale so I got chatting with Arex who suggested I should sign up. Then shortly afterwards, I got chatting with Matt (Anfield Fox) after buying from him on eBay and he also suggested that I should join the boards so I finally got round to registering in late 2006. The very best thing about this forum is the fact that I've made so many good friends through here. There are plenty of guys here who I enjoy chatting with but also a whole bunch who I enjoy seeing at our regular meet ups for beer and I owe that to the CGC boards.
  18. Thanks for the links. (thumbs u Still can't see why Cable would be included in Marvels stable of characters. If X Force does go ahead, I'm guessing that Cable will be there. I'm looking forward to the day that it might actually go ahead.
  19. BTW, does anyone know how Universal ended up with the rights to Namor?
  20. The author of that drawing and I shared some articles about some of the characters while discussing who owns what right now. When I pointed out Elektra is still in limbo until 2015, he just wouldn't agree with that because of an interview with Feige from 2013. Unfortunately, Feige wasn't even sure who owned the rights in the article. I heard a rumour that Marvel owns the rights to Cable. I can only assume that it was completely untrue as it would make no logical sense at all that I can see.
  21. I gave all of my issue from my original Guardians of the Galaxy run to my nephew, years ago.
  22. Hi Evorus, I'm Paul and I'm located just North of Nottingham. I'm originally from Middlesbrough (The current location for a couple of other reprobate boardies). What do you collect? I'm a bit of an X-Men nut, especially Jean Grey stuff. Currently working on a 9.8 Dark Phoenix set as well as upgrading my UXM raws to as high a grade as I can manage. Hi Paul, I'm in Manchester, originally welsh but moved here and married a local lass and have somehow managed to avoid border control. Currently collecting through Preacher, Sandman, Transmetropolitan (which I've bought off a user here!), The Boys and Hellboy (for which I have the first 3 appearances) As for this secret handshake and 12 month wait for the PM List, I'm sure I've already received the obligatory paperwork which I've signed, sealed and am now currently shredding as per the agreement Hey, you're the guy that I pointed toward Comicana for some Transmetropolitan's when you posted a WTB thread, aren't you? Hi there.
