Whew, I needed a break from the frogs and snowmen (although those are cool in their way).
This is an incredible copy of a great book.
Love the 16 wheeler dune buggie
Didn't notice that. How strange!

This came yesterday from the Bay.

It has been a really long time since I`ve posted a book here.
Unbelievable copy. And yes, that is a classic cover.

Nice scans, nice books. (thumbs u

Hoods Up #2
Hoods Up #3
Will Eisner art in both.
Wow! Overstreet says that only 1 copy of #3 and 2 copies of #2 are known. Are these the copies???

Love that Manhattan scene in the background!
(The stuff in the foreground isn't bad either...)
Looks more like a 9.2 than a 7.0.

Great cover, incredibly bad story...

A recent acquisition from the boards (October).
Note: it has an interesting letter from Roy Thomas on the letters page. He must have been a favorite DC fan, because they sent him a preview copy of BB34 so he could comment on the new Hawkman.

Need this one for my Brave and the Bold run
Very nice, is this a pedigree?
Yep... Ohio copy.
First of all, what a group to add to a collection. Congrats!
The colors on the BB18 are incredible. I have a copy and I never knew the greens were supposed to be so rich.
Does anyone have any info on what the Ohio pedigree is?
Seems unfair that this book had to leave the state.

Glad you got the book back!
Atlas, you have an incredible collection of books I wish I owned.

I think by and large Strange Adventures has better covers than Mystery in Space. Here's a couple of great ones:
Gil Kane
Murphy Anderson (great dramatic cover...I love the phone hanging in space...great colors too)
-
One of my favorite covers of the run. From the pink gas (air) pump to the style of clothes on the people, this cover screams 1950's. This scan does not do the actual rich colors on the book justice.
Ken
I've been looking for a nice copy of this issue since I first saw it posted on the boards awhile back. The great colors and the clean, uncluttered scene are just awesome...not to mention the great Anderson girl...

What a beautiful copy! Congrats.

Wow. What a book.
Someday I'm going to own this issue...I hope.
By the way, there are only 4 books graded higher than yours.

Hard to get over how sharp looking and cheap that ASM was.You sure got a deal on that one. Here's a book I've looked for for ages...I haven't actually received it yet but I'm WAY too impatient to wait on posting it.GOD BLESS...

I dont collect too many Charltons, but I couldnt resist this lil gem! What a fantastic Ditko black cover. And, for a Charlton, the interior art is pretty good as well...
Bill
That is a gem! (I have a soft spot for snowy scenes...)

Just got this one off the bay. I fell in love with this cover when someone recently posted it on the boards and had to get one...
-
I enjoyed it.
It was interesting that there were no snipes. On ebay my competitors are faceless, so I don't think twice about trying to steal a deal at the end, and not give them a chance to counter bid, but I didn't even consider it here.
Also, I set my opening bids at reasonable, "fair" levels, not the opening level...again because it isn't in the impersonal Ebay environment.
All in all, this format seems like a great way to dispose of books that haven't sold in regular threads!
-
Unbelievable.

Okay, enough chatter. More comics...
I thought Crazy was a magazine...never seen these.

Was it Strange Adventures that had the cover of the Sphinx on the moon?
I think it was a grey-tone cover.
It was:
What is it about grey-tone? I think I have never seen a grey-tone cover that I didn't like...
I agree, I'd like to have them all. I wonder if they sold better off the newstand? And if so, why didn't they make more of them? Maybe they cost more to make...
By the way, the sphinx cover is actually a Murphy Anderson remake of Gil Kane's Mystery in Space 36...

Got a bunch this week but this was my fav!!
Promo from 1959 ALASKA BUSH-PILOT
100 Produced by Jan Enterprises out of Portland Oregon IN 1959
Story goes 100 were produced but never distributed due to a flood which destroyed 72 total
Classic Bronzilla obscurity!
Wow, I just looked it up in Overstreet and it's actually listed there. Very cool.
