  1. Valorem-stamp-integrum-phobia A serious case if ever I saw one. And, so far, I've only seen one. 5¢ Please...
  2. <Internal Dialog> I'm like... "Prescreen? Why not lead with that?!?" "Well Jeanyus, if you tell everyone that you were prescreening for 9.8 then everyone would be inclined to guess 9.8. Ergo, the grade reveal becomes, well, rather anti-climatic..." "Oh, duh... never mind." </Internal Dialog>
  3. Is it just me, or has Covid ruined the word 'variant'? It's probably just me... Sweet book!!!
  4. Hulk and Thing on the FC + "Tired of being skinny?" Joe Weider ad inside FC = Epic product placement Tape pulls are bad. There's also water stains on the spine... 2.5/3.0
  5. Hi all - Here is my second copy of ASM #135, the second full appearance of the Punisher. Besides the obvious condition issues (spine stresses, corner creases & blunting, etc.) there are some scratches on the FC and stains on the BC (LLC and URC). Cover and centerfold firmly attached. Book is complete. Thanks for looking!
  6. Just thought I would give folks an idea about how long it is taking & what the experience is like for a first time submission: I sent my first submission of 10 books in two tiers: 7 standard and 3 economy all are being pressed by CCS. February 17th - The package was sent via USPS registered mail. (Hint: Don’t seal the outside of your box, they make you remove all of the tape.) March 1st - USPS showed the package arrived around 5pm. March 20th - At 6:30pm, (on Saturday no less) I received an email from CGC with a submission receipt. (So 19 days from the time they received the package until the time it was opened.) March 21st - The website listed two submissions under My Submissions. One submission for the 7 Standard books and one for the 3 Economy books. March 26th - I received an email and invoice from CCS for pressing the 7 Standard books. April 7th - CCS finished pressing the 7 Standard books and CGC sent an email that they have received them. April 15th - Submission tracking page now shows “Scheduled for Grading” under status for the 7 Standard books, and the submission number is now a hyperlink to the submission page that lists all of the books under that submission. This is where the grades for each book will be posted. April 16th - Received an email invoice for the grading cost minus the grading discount and the grading credit. April 17th - Submission tracking page now shows “Grading/Quality Control” under status for the 7 Standard books. If this is stupid, let me know and I'll stop...
  7. Apropos, it is a Wolverine cover, so stabbing is kind of his thing, n'est-ce pas?
  8. The blue stain on the page edges is distributor ink which is sprayed on after the book is assembled. This is not considered a defect and won't affect the grade. The black ink drop appears to be print ink and would be considered part of the manufacturing process and also not a defect. The impressions at the top and bottom of the BC might be bale dents that occur when the books are bundled and strapped together. The waviness of the book might have been caused by this bundling. However, this is a defect, but one that could possibly be pressed out. Additional defects: blunted/abraded corners, rusted staples and possible water damage. 7.0 as is, a clean and press will improve
  9. Huge hit if that cover falls off, and it doesn't look like much is holding it together. The spine splits are going to drive the grade down some. (See picture below where I highlighted some of the splits.) So just a couple of tips: 1) Don't open this book anymore or, if you must, don't open it past 90°. I personally don't like opening them much past 45°. 2) If you are considering getting this pressed (I don't see the need for this particular book) I would definitely get a second opinion of a pressing expert, given the potential fragility of the spine. The book presents well and looks like a 4.5/5.0 but if the spine is as fragile as I think it is, maybe this grades out at 3.0/3.5... Are an accumulation of spine splits additive? Any other opinions?
  10. Are those holes down the length the spine? The spine also appears to be split at the top and bottom...
