  1. As @Funnybooksquite rightly pointed out, this is a bindery tear and it is a common production flaw on ASM 361 issues. Frequently there are two tears, one on Carnage’s knee and the other under the UPC box. I’ve seen CGC 9.8 copies with the exact same flaw. I also agree with 9.2 as well...
  2. Here’s a better picture, I should have taken one from this angle before. The only blemish on the spine front or back...
  3. Just thought I would give folks an idea about how long it is taking & what the experience is like for a first time submission: I sent my first submission of 10 books in two tiers: 7 standard and 3 economy all are being pressed by CCS. February 17th - The package was sent via USPS registered mail. (Hint: Don’t seal the outside of your box, they make you remove all of the tape.) March 1st - USPS showed the package arrived around 5pm. March 20th - At 6:30pm, (on Saturday no less) I received an email from CGC with a submission receipt. (So 19 days from the time they received the package until the time it was opened.) March 21st - The website listed two submissions under My Submissions. One submission for the 7 Standard books and one for the 3 Economy books. March 26th - I received an email and invoice from CCS for pressing the 7 Standard books. April 7th - CCS finished pressing the 7 Standard books and CGC sent an email that they have received them. April 15th - Submission tracking page now shows “Scheduled for Grading” under status for the 7 Standard books, and the submission number is now a hyperlink to the submission page that lists all of the books under that submission. This is where the grades for each book will be posted. April 16th - Received an email invoice for the grading cost minus the grading discount and the grading credit. April 17th - Submission tracking page status now shows “Grading/Quality Control” under status for the 7 Standard books. April 21st - Grading of the 7 Standard books is complete. Grades and grader's notes are now listed for each book. The line items are now hyperlinks that go to the Certification page for each book. April 21st - Submission tracking page status now shows “Finalized / Imaged / Shipped" which itself is now a hyperlink to the shipping carrier. Shipping date is filled in. I hope this timeline helps. Th' Th' Th' That's all folks....
  4. For an otherwise super clean book, that tear is just weird. I thought maybe a fingernail puncture, I dunno... Anyway, the tear is probably 1/4" end-to-end.
  5. I was sorting through some comics from a collection I bought 20 odd years ago out of San Francisco. I originally purchased the whole collection just for the high-grade Spider-Man comics, but kept the rest. Most I have never even looked at, and to be honest I was amazed at the condition some of them are in. I thought I would post a few of the books to see if any were worth grading... Of course, I could just prescreen them, but what fun would that be? Second is X-Men (1991) #1 Magneto - Spine is clean and corners are sharp with the bottom spine corner a little crunchy. There is an odd tear on the BC spine. I don’t know if the tear is a production flaw, at least it’s not one that I ever saw before. Book is otherwise flat and complete with white pages. Assuming that the corner presses out, does the tear still keep the book out of the upper echelons? Thanks!

Most I have never even looked at, and to be honest I was amazed at the condition some of them are in. I thought I would post a few of the books to see if any were worth grading... Up first is Uncanny X-Men #282 - First appearance of Bishop (I have absolutely no clue who Bishop is...) Spine is clean and corners are sharp, but unfortunately there is a bindery chip on the bottom spine corner and a very tiny edge tear that is visible when I placed a backer board behind it. Book is otherwise flat and complete with white pages. Any chance for a high grade? Thanks!
  7. Bling with zing... I WANT ONE!!!! Now everyone can have a power ring... Suck on that Green Lantern!
  8. Agreed... So, is a cover that has been detached and reattached by tape still considered detached? And would this be a blue label?
