  1. +1, light is light, marker will fade even if you have UV protection (and going the other way, India ink will be relatively fine even with UV rays) Malvin
  2. Hi Folks, Last call for my LoserCon Sale! I am shutting it down tomorrow. I am quite pleased with the number of pieces I sold. I also sold a couple of pieces that were not in my LoserCon gallery, so asking about other pieces can work! Link to CAF Gallery Thanks for looking Malvin
  3. yay, I'm glad the state that my friend lives in (that I send my HA packages to) has not been added to the list. I better start making new friends just in case Which states are still tax free? Malvin
  4. I periodically browse 2DG, mostly to see if there is interesting art to buy. I have an account (since some art can only be seen by account holders) but have no gallery. I'm curious what features you think are modern compared to CAF? They are different sites with different functionality but nothing jumped out for either site as advantageous to me. Malvin
  5. Dang! I was quite pleased when I was able to grab a couple of pieces when Mitch put up some stuff Thursday morning, I would have been ecstatic if I was able to grab the DV1 cover. Oh well. There is always more art out there! Malvin

  16. My short answer is, where do you think my "ebay 1c No Reserve" auctions come from It's stuff that I buy that I think has upside either at cons, online or wherever. The longer answer is, I have done a few trades and they are tougher. As you can imagine, both sides have to value the trade material offered. I use to bring stuff to cons to sell/trade, but I don't think I have had much success (Im excluding stuff that was already bought and I was meeting someone at a con) I don't have a specific percentage allocated to buying stuff for resale vs. the collection. In general, if I think there is enough upside I would buy it regardless of my budget. As for whether or not its working.. hard to say, I tell my wife that the stuff I buy for my collection are funded from my 1 cent no reserve sales so there is no "real money" going into my hobby, but I think she knows that the math doesn't work but turns a blind eye Malvin
  17. Albert or his friend will probably post here, and all of us in his mailing list got it, but for those that were excluded, this just came out: Regarding the list of stolen artwork listed on my www.albertmoy.comGreat news! Through the efforts of Michael Finn/help4creators and my friends at Heritage Auctions, ten out of eleven pieces previously listed as stolen have now been safely recovered and returned to me. The only piece still missing and still listed as stolen is the Berni Wrightson Horror painting posted on my site. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Michael, Todd Hignite, Nadia and Joe Mannarino, Jim Halperin, Heritage Auctions, the Hartford, and everyone else in the comic art community who helped. I am appreciative of all the effort and time everyone has put forth during this long ordeal.
  18. I use to buy at Hakes more when it was more obscure, but I haven't noticed any bargains on stuff I know the past few auctions. Plus with their bidding increments (10% more) it might be a bargain at the current price but the next bid would negate that. Malvin
  19. was that the original Pooh? I thought it was a real bear that was a mascot for a Canadian Military unit that he later saw in a zoo? heh, if I am right (this is based on a Canadian Heritage moment commercial, something only fellow Canadians would know) I wonder how much that stuffed bear is worth? :P Malvin
  20. hmmm.. tough. He did say he want them so that is a commitment. I think a few days is fair, if you hear nothing in a week, I think most people would agree that it's fair to conclude they changed their mind but didn't tell you. If someone else asks about the same pieces, I would engage them and tell them about the first party and say if you don't hear back in a week from the original guy, it's theirs. Malvin
  21. I shouldn't weight in, and I'm not a lawyer, but I'm confused why Albert has to wait until he is "legally able" to make a statement. What situation could cause that? Malvin
