  1. No pricing restrictions. But if you have the secret sauce to boost Animal Man pages to $5M each, let me know how I can help, I have lots! Malvin
  2. Wow! I'm shocked. Just so I am clear, these pieces didn't sell, and you sent an inquiry with a question or an offer off their listed price? I guess it's just me. I almost always respond. Even on CAF when people lowball me on NFS pieces I send a polite reply saying it's NFS. Malvin
  3. Sorry to hear. I usually don't make the piece sold until I have payment (or it's a known user and he confirms it). Heck, I don't even mark I on hold until it's pretty much sold. At least that way I will still get emails if others are interested (I do tell the they are not first on the list if they email) Malvin
  4. We all have our own approaches. With crazy auction prices, I was gun shy in trying to sell higher end pieces. I would just consign them. That's why most of mine were only a few hundred bucks, even if I priced it "too cheap" I would only have left 50 bucks on the table I hear people saying their $$ for heritage, but I think the majority of the items for sale on CAL were not really competing with HA, they were lower end. Malvin
  5. and 10 of those were my sales! but they were only $100 to $300 on average, just wanted to decrease the quantity of my collection. Malvin
  6. Hi Everyone, I'm glad to sell quite a few pieces today and I've applied my final discount to my remaining items. So please take a look! CAL Gallery Malvin
  7. Ok, finally done looking at the new Sunday listings. Everyone done and anyone buy anything? I saw a couple that I thought about but trying to be more disciplined so did not buy anything. I also got 4 purchase requests so I'm happy with that (assuming all the sales go through) I just noticed that some were Saturday postings re-uploaded at a lower price. I just lowered my prices, I might do that next time! Malvin
  8. Yeah, I bought 1 piece and sold 3. The item I bought was a few hundred more than the 3 I sold You are right. Many pieces had aspirational pricing. Malvin
  9. Hi Folks, Hope everyone is having fun at Comic Art Live. I've sold and bought a few things. I'm headed out for the rest of the day but reduced prices across the board on my items so please take a look Malvin's Comic Art Live Booth Key Items are: 1. Jr. Jr. Thor vs. Thanos unused cover 2. Bart Sears Batman Splash 3. Bisley Lobo original miniseries page 4. Page written by Alan Moore and Grant Morrison Thanks! Malvin
  10. Hi Folks, I just uploaded a bunch of art to my CAF: 1. Jim Lee Wolverine full figure sketch on the back of a Jim Lee Punisher War Journal Page 2. Dale Keown Wolverine vs. Hulk Commission, and one with Mark Farmer Inks over bluelines 3. Jae Lee Captain America (Ice Storyline) Unused cover 4. John Romita Jr. Bullseye page from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe 5. Tom Grummet Animal Man pages featuring the first full appearance of "Grant Morrison" 6. I normally don't post art until it is in hand, but with his untimely passing I posted a Carlos Pacheco Superman/Batman splash that is on the way to me CAF Link to recent uploads Of course as art comes in, I have to pay for it! So I will have 27 pieces of art for sale for Comicartlive. Most pieces are priced from $100 to $1000 and artists include Jr Jr, Leinil Yu, Keown, Grant Morrison Animal Man and more. Heh, even if I sell everything it probably isn't enough to pay for this art day, but don't tell my wife that! Malvin
  11. MCS use to have tons of great art when few people knew they sold art (Adam Hughes Justice League pages and covers, Tim Sale covers, Will Eisner, Michael Golden and more) but you are right, they have been very weak lately. I don't know how consignors are thinking but we do need more venues that auction art. Malvin
  12. The paper ones are colour guides. The plastic ones harder to tell, they might be more colour proofs with no hand coloured elements Malvin
  13. The same comment applies. Those are colour guides, where the original art is photocopied and the colourist either colours directly on it or adds notations for the printer so they know what colours to use. They tend to only go for the tens of dollars max. Malvin
  14. Sorry, my gut says they are not worth a lot of money. Colour guide tend to go in tens of dollars max. If any of them were colour guides to highly desirable pages (e.g. the original art page would sell in the tens of thousands) then the colour guides would be more. But at a glance, I didn't see any highly desirable pages. It's still neat to have regardless. Malvin
  15. Hi Yoram, Thank you for the detailed explanation. I get the One Punch and that this page was two pages before it (and I am lucky enough to own the one page after it). The pages were high, but everything is high so it was more of a pleasant surprise. I'm more surprised that: 1. Page 7 was valued almost the same as the cover and issue 5 page 5 2. The cover was not valued more than the 2 panel pages (and I get than one was an A+ panel page, and that the cover didn't have Batman like the 2 panels). Then again, many prices confuse most of us these days :P Malvin
  16. I'm scratching my head on the Kevin Maguire Justice League page finishes, in terms of the relative price of the cover and interior pages. The were basically the same! I get that the interior pagers had better content and characters, but did not expect the cover to be priced the same as an interior page. Malvin
  17. Not DD but I saw Ankur list a Maleev Prof X cover that I thought was decent (image and price) Malvin
  18. great response and I have an even better one related to yours! I haven't paid attention to Jeopardy for awhile, but they no longer have $500 questions. They now start at $200, $400,.. to $1,000 in the first round, then it doubles for the second round. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeopardy! Just like our hobby, dollar values in Jeopardy are going up too! Malvin
  19. Thanks for understanding Don't know much about Frazzeta so can't comment sorry Malvin
  20. Hi Matt, OK, I look at the signature and it looks off too, I stand corrected. I did see a similar scan sell on ebay on $900, not sure if its the same fake or that there is a real one out there that looks similar. Malvin
  21. I don't think that Alex Ross is fake. It's not the published piece but a study so not worth that price. It sold on ebay in 2019 for $900. Malvin
  22. Short answer is you store it in darkness and don't display it. Museum glass won't matter at all and it will fade. Malvin
  23. appreciate this! Thanks! Malvin
  24. I think its just all spread out now, mainly to various FB focums. CAF has it's own forums but I think activity is low. Comicart-l is still around but has lower activities. Statue forum had and maybe still has an OA sub forum too but I don't know how much activity is going on there. Malvin
