  1. I just uploaded a cool Travel Foreman pinup of DC heroes! https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1807024 Thanks for looking Malvin
  2. yeah, I think it was at 9,900*, which is one increment under reserve and someone tripped it. I like his run on DD, but not at 10K for 2 pages (then again that applies to many OA these days, I'm glad I got my pages early!) Malvin
  3. that was it meeting reserve. and meeting reserve surprised me! Malin
  4. Nice! Do you have a page from issue 6 and 7? Malvin
  5. I was browsing ebay this morning when I saw a sketch that looks very similar to a Cary Nord Hulk commission I have: https://www.ebay.com/itm/154882231701?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m5055.l9430&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=683fd6583f3e40088bc6e6a904ee2ddb&bu=43438751127&ut=RU&osub=-1~1&crd=20220304090416&segname=11021&sojTags=ch%3Dch%2Cbu%3Dbu%2Cut%3Dut%2Cosub%3Dosub%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1216859 Is that a swipe or just someone drawing Hulking running forward? Of course Nord could have copied from someone else too! Malvin
  6. I usually go to my local con thinking I would not do or get much. I only collect original art and pretty much ignore everything else going on at a con (panels, vendors, celebrity signings). Just in case though, I bring some cash and boy did I spend it! Take a look at CAF for some of my haul! 1. Three Tom Grummet Animal Man pages 2. Three Lanna Sounvanny Marvel Origins covers (Hulk, Miles Morales Spiderman and Captain Marvel) 3. A Yanick Paquette Batman/Superman Cover 4. A Doug Wheatley Star Wars Dark Times cover 5. Last but not least I finally got the Brian Stelfreeze Scarlett from GI Joe that I have been after for years! CAF Link to recent uploads Thanks for looking Malvin
  7. I forgot about that! I reminded myself yesterday to bid too. Thanks and I'll take a look. Malvin
  8. Bill and Brian have made it so easy to enter that there are TONS of entries, which unfortunately makes it overwhelming to vote. Heck, I didn't vote this year (I just thought I was too busy to try to pick 5 from 300+ entries) I think we should consider decreasing entries (say to 3) and increasing # of votes per category! Malvin
  9. Prices for prime pieces these days are crazy and unpredictable. I would recommend you auction TLH pages rather than setting a price yourself. The prices in this thread don't reflect the recent craziness Malvin Malvin
  10. Something tells me whoever won that Secret Wars page isn't hurting for money and won't need to liquidate other OA pages Malvin
  11. I haven't voted yet but everyone vote! I think it's so easy to enter that we have tons of entries. Unfortunately that makes voting a lot harder with so many choices. I feel that we tend to get more entries that voters, which is not a good ratio. Malvin
  12. It's the weekly auction but I thought this was more WTF... https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/gabriele-dell-otto-batman-specialty-illustration-original-art-2009-/a/322203-48050.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515&fbclid=IwAR2MN83BBe-VOaIMAIJFW8qViMPzLliYvbN70dSHs5N3Gvw_aC0YZXvaotI Malvin
  13. I don't know, ask Google? I am sure this question came up elsewhere :P I'm in Canada Malvin
  14. I remember this being discussed on the boards before and I can't recall the final answer Googling found this: https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-314?language=en_US Looks like SIN... Malvin
  15. I am guessing that 2 of you put in that exact bid amount, in which case the person who entered it first wins. Malvin
  16. Hi All, Thanks again to Bill, Brian and others who organize this every year. Here are my entries 1. Covers - Brian Bolland Judge Dress Which comic art fan doesn't want a Bolland? I was lucky enough to already have a Bolland Dredd cover, but mine didn't have Dredd and I wanted a Bolland Dredd piece with Dredd. I would have been glad to have a panel page but I jumped at the chance to get this cover CAF Link 2. Interior Pages - Bendis/Maleev Daredevil I enjoyed the classic Bendis/Maleev run and was disappointed that no original art really exists since it was digital. Fortunately, during the Mark Waid run, in Daredevil issue 1.5 Bendis/Maleev did a few pages and physical original art exists! CAF Link 3. Interior Pages - Starlin Marvel Fanfare Thing vs Hulk Again, like many comic fans I enjoyed the Starlin Hulk vs. Thing issues so I'm glad to have this page CAF Link 4. Commissions - Chris Samnee Batman vs. Catwoman I just love the simplicity and the use of light and shadows! This also fits my "Batman vs.." theme CAF Link 5. Others - Michael Cho Batman Warm ups I like Michael Cho and this warm up piece was perfect for me CAF Link Runner Ups Geof Darrow Big Guy and Rusty the Robot DHP Cover - CAF Link Alan Davis Miraclem and and Captain Britain Fanzine Cover - CAF Link Bruce Timm vintage Black Canary Full Figure Colour Pinup - CAF Link Art Adams Monkeyman and O'Brien Splash - CAF Link Thanks for looking Malvin
  17. I would still put that under comic covers. There is a weak case for a non-comic cover if it wasn't a comic anthology magazine, but since it's a comic anthology, I would call it a comic cover (like I would call Wizard covers a comic cover) Malvin
  18. I'm done too. I was willing to go 5 on the Mazz Kingpin but it went for 10! Then again, I was only willing to go 5 because I thought it would be a good buy at that price Now I'm just curious where the Tim Sale Batman will finish it (not bidding) Malvin
  19. I saw that Bolton sketch after it sold. Congrats on getting it, I would have bought it if it was still available Malvin
  20. I'm done for today (I think). Bought 1 piece, a lot less than the 7 I bought yesterday, but today's was a higher end piece (e.g. 1/3 the value of the combined 7 I bought yesterday). Overall I think I was surprised as to how much I bought and I'm still pleased this show is happening. Malvin
  21. heh.. I think maybe 1 or 2 pieces I bought are "must have", the rest are probably more like nice to have but I bought them because I have been busy so no time to look for art. One piece I pulled the trigger too fast because I didn't read the description carefully, but at least it was my cheapest purchase. Malvin
  22. I might as well start a thread since I didn't see one. How did everyone do? I didn't set up this time as my sell pile is super low. I did buy a lot more than expected, at least 5 pieces and likely 7. I would mention it here but I don't like to talk about art I got until it's in hand Malvin
