  1. "real" stats, that are actually used in the production of a comic book are worth something, obviously only a fraction of the real art but still substantial. A few years ago, I sold a stat to Kirby's Hulk #1 (used for a UK reprint comic) for $1.5K. Unfortunately there are now a bunch of photocopies that were never used for production out there, which of course are worthless Malvin
  2. If you go by the letter of the law sure, but those transparencies are copies and no one has been able to stop them. Why don't you try your approach Malvin
  3. Sweet! will reply to your email That means everything is sold! maybe its priced too low or just right, but that's the secret if anyone is wondering Malvin
  4. and the seller made it clear too! (and I had asked him more details to figure out what it was and told him it was likely a photocopy) ebay link Malvin
  5. All sold, thanks all. Malvin
  6. Glad to finally see you post Rich. I think that seller was discussed, but here is a link to an active auction ebay link Malvin
  7. Agree with all above, I hope he has a full recovery in order to enjoy life. Glad to hear that he still has good cognition. Malvin
  8. so in your case the penciller and inker are different? It's still OA, but would be valued less than one where the penciller physically did the art. There are also cases where penciller and inker are the same person, in that case I don't mind and would value it the same. But that is just me. Malvin
  9. Hi Folks, It's time for my 1 cent no reserve auctions again! The first batch for 2017 has: 1. Nick Percival Judge Dredd Megazine page from a Garth Ennis story 2. Mark Bright and Romeo Tanghal Green Lantern Emerald Dawn page 3. Tom Grummett Adventure of Superman 505 page ebay link Thanks for looking Malvin
  10. Yay! Congrats to all that joined. All my pieces got some votes, which is always nice, and one piece was even second place. Malvin
  11. Wow, I just noticed that the non-paying "buyer" of the DPS when you were on ebay has like 130 bid retractions in the past 6 months, that is insane! http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=322387553789&aid=d***a&eu=&bidtid=1701012101011&view=BUYER&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_Buyer_ViewLink Can you tell us the ebay ID please? That is someone that we should all block and avoid Malvin
  12. Saw those, looked off, not worth the risk no matter how good the price is. Malvin
  13. This really confuses me, because seeing "MYNAMEISLEGIONS" post reminded me that I saw an art day on this piece: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9444170&fpart=3 This was 3 days after the auction ended. I thought it was the winner posting, but now it's clear it's you, the seller. How can you know after 3 days that the buyer never paid? That seems rather quick. I didn't think ebay would let you do that. Malvin
  14. Based on all the other items the guy has, and his ebay ID, I think everything he sells is questionable. I wouldn't even assume that Royer touched it. Malvin
  15. err, I saw this listed on ebay the same time you were posting, and it sold, I thought it was you. ebay link what's going on? Malvin
  16. I don't set goals for myself, but looking at everyone else's goal, a few key themes emerge: 1. Less impulse buying of lesser pieces for the sake of buying (Focus was used a lot) 2. Selling off lesser pieces to buy bigger ones (Focus was used here too) Hopefully that doesn't represent the whole hobby, because it would be interesting if it does! Malvin
  17. Well for me the answer is easier. I wouldn't do it, there isn't art out there that I would trade my entire collection for and still be equally happy as I am today (with my current collection) Malvin
  18. Great Bloom County strip! I think I remember reading that one in the 80's...Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the compliment! Malvin
  19. I did not even know about this but thanks to this thread I went to check it out. I almost didn't buy anything but saw a few Grant Morrison Doom Patrol trades so I checked it out. Malvin
  20. There aren't set rules, but If it was mine I would put it in commission. That category isn't about pieces you commissioned yourself, just like con sketches aren't for sketches you got yourself personally. But you could also put it in other, or even covers if it was cover quality (since covers include unpublished covers) Malvin
  21. Ok, finally have my entries up. You know you have a good year when your "finalists" number over a dozen and most of them would have been slam dunk decisions in previous year. So, in no particular order, my entries are: 1. David Mazzucchelli Vintage Batman Year One Sketch - I don't think I need to describe why this one made the cut Lowry Link 2. Kaare Andrews Uncanny Inhumans Painted Variant Cover - The image just grabbed me when I first saw it. Who knew I would like yellow so much? Lowry Link 3. Bloom County with Opus, Milo and Walter Mondale! - Bloom County! My second favourite strip where animals interact with people (I'm probably never getting an example from the one with the imaginary tiger...) Lowry Link 4. Jim Starlin/Al Migrom Marvel Fanfare End page with Dr. Strange and Thing! - A great example from the classic Starlin Hulk/Thing crossovers! Lowry Link 5. Gary Frank Hulk 340 (vs Wolverine) Cover Recreation - He hit this one out of the park! Lowry Link of course here are the many others that would have been slam dunks any other year: 1. Art Adams FF 348 Title Splash 2. One or both of the Tim Sale Wolverine/Gambit Covers - Issue 1 and Issue 2 3. One of the 3 Kaare Andrews Spiderman:Reign Covers I bought this year - Issue 2 , Issue 3 and Issue 4 4. Alex Ross Supreme and Radar Painting 5. Walt Simonson Thor Pinup Thanks for looking! Malvin
  22. I just uploaded a Bloom County Strip! CAF Link Thanks for looking Malvin
