Hey Chris, D.O. (since I think this board would censor your name) I had meant what said, 2 pages look the same, one restored, one not. The restored one in my opinion would take a slight hit. All things being equal. D disagrees, which of course is fine since mine is just an opinion. If there are 2 pages that were similarly damaged, and one was restored, it's more of a toss up. But I would take a stabilized mold removed piece too, all things being equal. Malvin

Not bad, my one comment would be about restoration, you said something along the lines of no stigma as long as things are not re-inked, if it is only cleaning. I would rephrase that to less stigma. All things being equal, if an issue happen to have 2 equal looking splashes, if one was cleaned/restored and one was not, the one not cleaned/restored would go for more Malvin

Maybe finally there won't be a sale. I'm actually ok with that, the last few years I was almost buying for the sake of buying and it was a lot of work to scour the site Malvin

Speaking of covers... I used to own this cover recreation Dave Cockrum made of his Uncanny X-men 145; it's one of my favourite covers of all time (Doom !) and it's the only recreation Cockrum ever made of this page, but each time I looked at it, there was something nagging at me and in the end I traded it...it just didn't "connect" with me. For some reason I don't really like recreations that much, art-wise they can be magnificent, but part of the hobby for me is nostalgia, getting that real page that the artist "created" not "copied" Agreed, to each his own but that is why I have no interest in recreations myself. I don't have any insider info but he has had a sale every year for over a decade (maybe even 2, except that would be before my time) so it's same to assume he will have one. Just stay clear of stuff i am eyeing... Malvin

Quite a few people do it, search for "cover dress" or overlay. I think most restorers/conservators do it, I think on CAF you can search for James Pascoe that some dealers use, another dealer friend recommended someone else to me when I thought about it. Let me know if you want his name. Malvin

You would think it would have been clearly declared at the time of sale. The seller must have known and chose not to tell you. Possibly, but I should have done by due diligence as well. He is accepting a return on the piece. Ankur hmm.. I certainly disclose blue lines if a piece I am selling is one. But if the seller is silent on it, I think the buyer has to do his due diligence.
