  1. I had my heart set on this book. It passed my limit before I could even bid
  2. I had my heart set on that book! It passed my limit before I even got a chance to bid.
  3. I spent my night buying comics on ComicLink. After winning a few, I came over to the chat boards to get others' takes on tonight's bidding. I was confused to hear people talking about Comic Connect auctions instead of ComicLink. It left me with the following questions. Did both sites have auctions on the same night? If so, where did you guys spend your time and money? ...and more importantly, why would they want to compete with each other? (I assume they each hurt the other's sales and profit)
  4. This is my biggest regret! It pains me to even post this. After ComicLink fees, I got less than $3,000 for it. 7/6/2005 AMAZING FANTASY #15, CGC 4.0 VG $3,100
  5. I am curious to know how much the Marvel Man, Popular Comics sold for, but I can't find the auction results on the Comic Connect Web site. Are the sold prices available to people to who didn't bid on them?
  6. "Does your wife physically sit on your desk all day? Why would you frame a photo of her? If you're simply showing off scans of your wife, you can download any wife that you want from the internet!" I like the comparison. As for displaying comics around the house, I choose to pass. I am too worried that they will fade, get broken, or get stolen.
  7. This is my big win! I overshot my budget for the entire auction on this one book, but it is one of my favorite WWII covers.
  8. I love this book. I bid pretty high, but didn't even close. Congrats on a cool comic!
  9. All that from the first 2 minutes !!!
  10. Fast and safe shipping on a higher end CGC book! Highly recommended
  11. I bought most of them about 7 years ago. I always liked the comic and thought it would be a good book to invest in.
  12. That's too bad about the popped staple. I have certainly been there!
  13. Thanks for the info! Based on the last sale, I guess I didn't do too badly. I will join the DD #1 club once it hits my hands.
  14. I just bought the CLink DD #1 in 9.0. I was thinking about going for the 9.4, but didn't think it looked any better than the one I got. Now that it is done....does anybody have the GPA for 9.0? I am sure I paid too much, but I don't plan on selling later to make money. Thanks!
  15. This pulp is beyond cool! Very nice of REH to give the lead writing credit to his buddy Tevis. I read that REH wrote the whole thing and Tevis may have done some "research". The conclusion was that REH wanted to give his friend an opening to submit some of his own stories.
  16. Popped into my head...I was wondering if anyone knows of a signed copy of a REH pulp? I know he died in 1936 before eternal fame, but surely someone was eager enough to have him sign their Weird Tales??? His signature is well known from his masses of correspondence right?
