  1. one of my favorite torch covers. just stunning. and i want to know why it isn't a 9.2. Just my opinion, but it seems to be Schomburg "like" and while has some qualities of him, I am not completely sure it is. I think it looks like someone trying to do Schomburg or it could have been he was very busy that month and didn't spend his normal time on the cover. The details are only half there compared to most of his covers and the composision is weaker than a great deal of his work. There are some similar traits, but they are not as prevalant. Either way, a truely stunning book, and very nice with white pages to boot. Congrats! Paul Thanks guys. I feel fortunate to have come across this book. I happen to agree that it looks like someone trying to immitate Schomburg. There are a lot of similarities, but no quite there. Still a great cover. BTW, that's a great Destroyer cover guys. (thumbs u Here's another one of my favorite Timely's. Now this is a definate Schomburg! I love these giant Subby covers. — Rick That is a great cover, I love the Schomburg Pill Box Covers...I think USA 13 has Cap and Bucky running over one...great book Paul

  3. Great showing of books guys, warms my heart to see all those timely's. Paul
  4. Jim, that was Bill who gushed over those funny books, but take it from me, Billy loves them as well. beauties, i tell you. and if you don't love timelys from pennsylvania.... I love that book. Nice one, Billy. (thumbs u thank you, sir. what kills it for me is that someone drew a little "p" on the cover I kinda like the little "p" on the cover my understanding is that parker likes some books with a little "p" on them No, that would be Russ. I am supprised at page quality with it being a "p" copy, you would think acidification would have been a factor and droped page quality to a yellow to cream color??

  7. can''t wait to see that one in 7 weeks. You got it! i have nothing on my mind, but it's sinful that the timely thread could lay fallow for 5 damn days, hence the bump. Well, it's probably your fault. I mean, after all, you've had 5 friggin' days to go out and buy & post a Timely! He bought a Zip! Oh wait....that is an MLJ. If its schomburg it counts....nuff said!
  8. Paulie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Billy, allow me. Paulie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after the fact allowance dispensation granted. Dang Lawyer. What up my Southern Fried Mo Fo Bro? everything great down here, sir. but we're broiling hot, with lots of humidity. not alot of fun outdoors for the next month or so. Yup. Pretty steamy here too. Crazy humid too...we had a record rain fall in July. R. Anyone remember the Ace Freely solo album...."Back, Back in the New York Groove" Anyway good to be back and nice to have so many well wishers....Thanks guys. Paulie
  9. open the door, pauly, open it up wide Rick you are so gay, not that there is anything wrong with that.
  10. Only if you guys think it would go 8.0, I will take a look at it when I get it....looks like a super 7.0, but I haven't seen the back cover. Paul

  13. Rick, you really need to work on your 80's movie proliferation. "I, I, I waaant the knife" is classic 80's movie trivia. Almost as good as " I'll be back"
  14. you sir are on a terror!!! Nice pick ups. I, I, I, want the knife!!!(Eddie Murphy immimatation) first, what is a Immimatation?...is that anything like an imitation (I might have figured that one out) ...but who the heck is eddie murphy I can't spell, never have been able to, live by word. Anyway thanks teach'a, I appreciate the correction in public, you ever think about abusing kids for a living? I am sure there is an public school in need of wrist slapping teacher to belittle young minds. Eddie Murphy the actor, star of The Golden Child, thus Josh's Name Sardo Numspar is from that movie....duh!! sorry, never heard of golden child, or sardo numspar...must be an OR thing Appearantly not, Josh lives in your state??

  17. I have a bunch of them for sale on my ebay site. Some EC's and Wings, if anyone is interested. I know, I know wrong forum, but at least you know. Paul
  18. Based upon rarity and cover the National 7 is tops, plus a church book. Then again Plastic Man is always been kinda cool to me, but 20K for either would be more than I would pay for either one. For 10K I would take the National, over 10K for the Police, but at 20K I would have to pass. Paul
  19. Flash for me, the FF is sweet and I would enjoy that book maybe a little more, but I could pay the same for a FF as a GA key in 9.6 is just to nice.
  20. Sale Post-poned! I am not even close to having them all graded and scanned yet. I was to optimistic. I will update in a few days. Sorry, for the delay. Paul Ok, so with out further wait. X-Men Run of this collection starts tomorrow evening most likely around 8-9PM PST A list will be up earlier tomorrow or tonight with grades and prices. You may buy of that list, or wait for scans.
