  1. Note to self, stipulate in will, skull must be cleaned and bleached and rubbed against skantly clad hot chick for eternity.
  2. Please wait until I complete my collection. It shouldn't take much longer, I only need another 20,000 issues. Addict!
  3. That brundage cover is fantastic! Why doesn't the damsel help the guy out? She seems turned on that he is about to be engulfed. That's Conan. Gasp! is that Nipple?
  4. Yeah, I don't collect these, but I saw it and impulsively bought it, very happy I did. (thumbs u
  5. Hey, I actually knew that one, as I have a copy.
  6. That would be interesting, but not likely....you would think a book like that would have already popped by now, unless BZ or the likes has one tucked away! It would be fun to see what it would do for the hobby. The media attention to the comic world would be huge I would think. Might bring a lot of new collectors.
  7. I think those are pretty high numbers. I don't see someone wanting to pony up that kind of coin for a book that they know isn't going to be the highest graded. It's one thing to pay $1M for the best copy of the best book, but not for the 2nd or 3rd best. Bragging rights need to come with that kind of an investment. Look how much pub Dave Anderson gets on this board - while Geppi is an afterthought (despite having an equally impressive collection). I hear what you are saying, but as far as I know the 8.5 is not for sale, and David Anderson's is not for sale. Geppi's has resto from what I hear, and that makes me believe that if someone wanted to purchase the "Best" book available for sale and maybe for a long time then, and tied for highest in census or top of census might very well be a book that reaches 1 mil. Again, thats just my opinion as 8.5 is highest in census, at least unrestored, and to my knowledge that is not a book for sale. Paul
  8. What do you guys think the market would be for a unrestored CGC Action 1 8.5 with White pages?(Not the rusty staple one) Hypothetically speaking Also the same book in VF/NM 9.0 WP CGC blue also Hypothetically speaking? I think 900K to 1 mil for 8.5 1mil-1.2 for 9.0?
  9. Jeff, that book looks way better than a 5.0. What are we missing, is there a 2 inch spine split on it or has CGC dramatically tightened up its grading? Nope, no spine splits, and the back cover is quite nice, but enough general wear front and back to keep it out of high grade. If you look carefully at the top right of the front cover, you can see that another comic or magazine had covered that corner for an extended period, and now that area is a bit brighter than the rest of the cover. A cleaning would make the entire cover that bright again, but that would lead to a PLOD. I do think it's strictly graded though. A 5.5 or 6.0 would not have surprised me, especially with that page quality, but I'm still very pleased. With no back cover or hidden issues, I would say with that page quality CGC was pretty tough on that book. Then again, who cares! Its awsome and one of the best copies I have seen. It certainly looks like a 6.0 or better at first glance! Great BOOK!!!! Congrats!

  12. I do. I plan on eventually posting some scans of them. Here's an old photo that shows a Spicy Mystery. They're pretty nifty, too.
  13. "You want me to trade you my pulp for small rectangular sheets of green paper with the images of dead white men?" Why Yes!, Yes I do!
  14. Thanks, Paul. What titles/genre/artist are you collecting? I actually havn't started collecting Pulps, but I would like to collect Marvel Science and some Amazing, and any cover which draws me in. There are so many cool pulp covers I most likely will be choosie! I bought this run for Bill(Ciorac) in hopes he would enjoy them, and thought if he didn't want them, I might keep a few and sell the rest. I would like to buy some Marvel Science Stories for my self, but I never run into them... I suppose I would be interested in R Paul stuff, Schomburg did some, and Sci-Fi, Mystery Adventure type covers. I am not versed in most of the artists, but I do know which appeal to me by cover. I really like covers which resemble comics of the late 30's early 40's(Daring Mystery,Early MMC, ect..), or more so that comics from that period immitated.
  15. OK then....let's take this same Archie, and put it up against Batman. Both sold for approx $6k a few years ago....now which one would you choose, and why ? Tec 31!!!!!
  16. I believe you are correct. I remember it is considered a classic cover as well. Sweet pulps guys. I really like the Marvel Science or any of the red circle pulps, I would like to get a bunch of them, at current I do not have any, my pulp collection is the 14 I posted.
  17. I got to get me one of those, the #3 has the same great feel. Can't help but wonder if some of the better pulp covers(and there are a lot of them) were on comics, the demand and value would be insane. It really is untapped market for fantastic art covers, and some excellent reading. I picked all of these up for under between 3-6 bucks a piece, except the one startling with Capt. Futrue which was more. So for the price of a new comic I got a whole lot of reading and some real fun covers to enjoy. Paul
  18. Holy Schnike's, can you imagine today a comic or any other publication with the phrase "Play Slap the Jap" on the cover Still a awsome cover! BZ you sir have incredible books as always. Paul
