  1. Wait you have those in california? The Cardboard bags that once they get wet they fall apart 😂 it's 50¢ a bag and it holds basically nothing. It's all about money. Another way to get money
  2. I agree. The car insurance alone must be insane but I have to be real with you. It does make me jealous and envious. I have a 4 cylinder engine and I still pay out the nose for it.
  3. Thank you I appreciate you taking the time to respond and leaving a comment!
  4. I wanted to get the new Gibson Deluxe in pelham blue but the reviews were ehh due to it having trust rod issues and the new pots that die out. So I went with the Epiphone!
  5. Plus gas is expensive and bags have to be specific and put in specific locations. Everything has rules here
  6. No it's $450 a week for grass cut, leaves picked up, weed killing, trimming of hedges etc, fertilizer, faxing the dead grass, basically everything yard maintenance
  7. Sadly they charge you for everything. For bags, for gas (since it's expensive) they charge you for every possible thing they could think of. It's all about $$$. Also I got an Epiphone Sg with P90 in dad's pelham blue BUT the cases that people suggest does not fit due to the new headstock being an inch longer. Would that forum help?
  8. Yes. They charge you for gas (it's expensive) they also charge you for bags becasue you have bag up the leaves and grass and put it in a specific location in front of your house so it's not mixed with the trash. They charge you for everything. That's why I charged $40 for cutting the grass and the cost of a bag was 50¢. Gas would be around 3 dollars per yard so I charged $40 😂 it's a fair price! I stopped doing it once I got my job job now I get payed $18 an hour. Reality is $16.50 due to the amount taxes taken out.
  9. You could've rented that thing out and made bank. In the grand scheme of things what I made in 13 years is sadly pathetic when compared to what some of my friends have in terms of parents. One of my friends from high school drives a 2019 Ford Mustang GT350. While I am working and then school repeating day in and day out and making $18 an hour isn't even enough to do anything really extreme. (which isn't enough to even live by myself.) that's why am so sensitive when people question why I have what I have. When compared to what others have am poor in the eyes of my friends and their families but in terms of people around the country am well off. I won't lie it does make me insanely jealous that I know people who go to Europe and travel the world, have brand new expensive cars and don't care about blowing away $1k a night in the city. I am jealous I'll be lying if I said I wasn't when they don't even work or take any thing seriously. While am here working non stop.
  10. It's not that I don't have to funds to afford state school. It's that once I finish college I want to have some money in the bank, I make $18 dollar an hour (where I live that's nothing). Landscaping where I live cost $450 a week and that's twice a week. My dad hired someone to open our pool. It cost my dad $200 for the guy to open it and shock it for the first time. $200 bucks for what? Removing a cover and putting chemicals in that took him an hour to do? Where I live in terms of money I am deemed poor. You need atleast $150k a year to live day by day for a 7 person family and not including money to go out and have fun with. The prices go up but the wages stay the same. I never had close to $100k in cash. I wish. I say I made safely around $80k+ but for 13 years of work that's nothing and sacrificing summers and days off to work really at the end of the day doesn't equivalent to here. I got my car in 2018, and got my phone plan when I was 18 so 2016.
  11. New York is insane as well. They are introducing a 'luxury tax' to those living in high end areas. The stress of money is bad. Sometimes I don't sleep because if I wanna live in New York with my family and Girlfriend and what am doing now will be impossible. I can't even Afford to move out of my house to an apartment. Heck I can't even afford gas since it's close to $5 dollars a gallon. It cost me $50 bucks just to fill up
  12. Clearly you don't know how much money it is for yard work where I live? Or how close it is to other houses? Do you have any idea how expensive it is to hire someone where I live? How much they charge for just putting up leaves? It's astronomical. Everything is expensive where I live. You can say what you want but I earned what I have and am damn proud of myself. You can choice to respect me or not am not asking for your respect from someone who clearly judges others for their hard work
  13. I don't want respect from people who have poor character. It seems like all you do is be passive aggressive with little regards to the challenges and achievements made by someone else. and I didn't come on here requesting respect from a bunch of strangers 😂 you can say what you want but I know my character and I know what I did to get to were I am and I am proud of myself
  14. First off full time school is only 15 credits. I have class Monday (morning class and after noon class) Tuesday and Thursday for all day but that doesn't mean it's impossible to have achieved what I have at my age. Why would I drive my car into New York City on 59th street? Why would I pay for parking and deal with traffic? It would take me an hour just to get to the college and find parking and pay for parking is a needless expense. I dont need your condescending passive aggressive attitude just because I have achieved a lot in my short time on working my butt off. I am a Proud Eagle Scout and I learned when I was in cub scouts that helping Community is an easy way to make money and be a head of the curve and look at me now! It's your own priority if you choice to go long with underestimating me because am young when it doesn't reflect my character rather your own. I love how the older generations complain that the younger generations don't do anything but when they do something it's like impossible to believe. Well it's not impossible and hard work pays off. I have a flag flown over the white house above my Eagle Scout shadow box with a letter signed by Obama, Jimmy Carter, George Bush and Barbara bush. A signed letter by Bill Gates. You can believe what you want but I earned what I have. Am disappointed that you would be so condescending to those who have common interests and ideals. If you Google Space X it tells you what companies they use. So in sense you are buying Space X stock becasue when they announce something it goes up. It's a direct correlation.
  15. I have $14k~ in my bank account, I bought a car that was {2018 Subaru legacy} ($14,500 when all said and done) plus college I paid for college, I pay rent, bills, I bought my own phones and have my own plan. What do you mean where the money went? It's either spent or sitting in a bank or stocks. I don't know why I need to explain what I did with my money that I worked for? Is there any point to this or is it hard to believe that someone worked hard and earned the money as a young child? Cub scouts taught me to always work and be proactive in the community and same thing as a boy scout? The point was to be a more rounded person after leaving and becoming an Eagle Scout. Yes I do have nice things but those did not come from just doing nothing. I worked my butt off to get to where I am in my life and am damn proud of myself for what I have accomplished. It sounds like your condescending based off of my life choices
  16. Yeah I don't have that kind of money or that kind of luck 😂 boy scouts taught me the life lessons I still use to this day and being the best I can be with whatever ensures I live life without regrets
  17. No it's not bad or good. Just making am observation on how they spend their money with regards to how they could spend their money. It's their choice like it's the same applies to me but it's just food for thought of how I could be spending my money and know it's gone forever.
  18. So I have a record player and I also collect vinyl! I have almost every single Beatles first pressing and a hand full of 45s and some other bands! BUT I found a Superman 45! And a batman 33 1/2 record! I was curious if anyone knows how many were made of each! I know marvel did with the reprints! But I do not know the name of them!
  19. It was only on the weekends during school and during the summer it was twice a week to either cut the grass, take care of a pool or weed or do other work but it wasn't bad money for dealing with no other worries 😂 I would make out pretty good but it was a lot of blood sweat and tears to get to where I am so I wouldn't say it was easy and I live close to the other hours so doing 5 houses was not that really far from my house! So it all worked out in the end
  20. Brooklyn college is still a good school! And I agree 100%! I agree they could but the textbooks I am assigned are 80% of the time written by the professor so I realized it's all about money. I went to a Community college first and the John Jay and I never had the same textbook ever..and when it was in person classes it was mandatory to have the physical book so you won't get distracted on your phone or laptop and it benefited the professor if they are the author or co author and usually the textbook is tied directly to the course
  21. You have to remember, there are a lot of hidden fees around every corner, textbooks cost on average $100-$200 so if they take 5 classes (15 credits) that adds up. Service fees for just paying tuition, fees for doing it online when compared to in person but you can't do it in person so they get you for paying online now 😂. Also when I did go to physical school, traveling was a big money spender for the train that adds up. Sadly they make you think it's $3700 after finical aid but it's more like $7k-$8k and maybe even more depending on your major and what you need for class. So that's $10k-$12k for a year and then add that which repeats untill they are finished so it's either $40k-$42k when all said and done and that doesn't include traveling, fees for just doing things such as making appointments etc, supplies for projects. Just remember it's always cheaper to do it in person! They add fees once you are ready to pay and you go "why is it more money then it told me it was." Trust me its not a good feeling Here's a link! It does a alot better of explaining everything! https://www.jjay.cuny.edu/baccalaureatemaster’s-degree-programs
  22. I pay rent ($1200 a month), pay for car insurance (by it self $4k a year for someone who's 22), I pay my phone bill, car payments(my car is going to be payed off this year!), I pay for my textbooks which cost between $400-$600 a semester and sometimes cheaper if you can rent but since they always use the newest editions it basically impossible. So it adds up plus I have a girlfriend for 4 years and I travel alot with her! 😂 And state schools still hit you with extra fees and I don't wanna spend all the money I have on just college! I like having money in the bank!
  23. As someone who went through that phase of being a teenager! I won't lie it was a genuine pain to wake up early on summer days and rather going out with my friends having to go do my chores. I am an Eagle Scout so it taught me lessons in life I care close to my heart like a moment of pain is a life time of glory. It was painful giving up my summers and winters and springs and falls but because of that I have a Collection that I always wanted, I have my dream guitar a Gibson Sg 2016 standard! I have a beautiful Girlfriend who also gifts me comics (Zip Comics #45 {6 on the census} no idea where she found it😂 and America's Best Comics #16). My advice as just moving out of the phase (NO WAY AM I TELLING YOU HOW TO PARENT OR TELLING YOU HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR SON you probably are an amazing father!) but you have to remember that your son probably is depressed becasue his at the age where he needs to see people and make bonds with them! I can't imagine being 15 again dealing with lock down, online classes with no human interaction, he can't see his friends due to Covid spreading, it's harder for him to also met girls through a screen and not having the opportunity to physically make eye to eye contact!
  24. I also am working towards my law degree! I started college late due to me saving money to even afford college now! I go to John Jay still an undergrad! Thank God for TAP and other financial aids that benefit you if you get good grades (anything above a 3.4 GPA)! If it aid was not an option there's no way I can afford $30k a year.
  25. Thank you! 😂 I agree ! I try to be as positive as I can be while everything in my life has a 15 foot cushion that protects me even if I don't want it or ever wanted it. Millennials made sure that Gen Z (my generation) is basically shielded from everything. I can't say anything out of line or I get kicked out of college and black listed. I try to experience the real world but everytime I do it always seems that they thought of every situation which over times you down. And his attitude is from him being a millennial. He thinks he has it bad even tho he makes $250k a year, has a beautiful soon to be wife, a brand new tesla, and works only 4 days out of it week. 😂 So I don't know I couldn't begin to tell you!
