Speculation ran rampant, as everyone caught "Obadiah" fever. Soon, about the only
place you could get a copy was from a "picture-book" dealer. The dealers organized
and held the first Obadiah Convention in 1843 out behind the Capital Feed and Seed
store in Richmond, Virginia. Pictured here is the booth of the Nikolai Brothers from
Boston.

This is all wrong - I called shotgun weeks ago.
Hey...at least you can see out the window. Apparently I'm in the trunk!
You are holding onto the G9K.
Actually I was not told you were going.
-
I liked it better when Arch let you be nasty. You just aren't the same.

Accessories are still in the developmental stage. But I want a Greggy9000, NOW!
Why? They don't come with a *spoon*.
-
Yes, the actual G9K is a lifesize 6' tall! He is pictured here ready for his big debut!
Come see him at Heroes Con!

Come join in the fun at one of these tour stops! Have your picture taken with the G9K
or just come and bask in the radiance of Canada's greatest Romance Comic collector!
Can you say bromance?

coming to Orlando?

The cover illustration to The Eternal Lover by J Allen St John is supposed to be one
of the paintings on display.

Avon is definitely my favorite paperback publisher. The comics in this thread are way cool, I also like the other stuff such as the paperback discussion, so here is one I picked up last week. Thanks for sharing.
I think vintage paperbacks are great.
Here are a few more Avons.
Oh and welcome back!

No blowup version?
Inflation is not necessary for assembly, but what you do with your
G9K in the privacy of your home is your business.
-
What are you and Tupenny up to?
You will witness it firsthand in 2 weeks.
-
Here is a sneak-peek of the prototype G9K coming off the presses. He will be
a lifesize standup (about 6' tall). We are finishing up the marketing campaign and
will be announcing the world tour next week.

Well its been almost 2 years, but we have great news! The Greggy9000 is no
longer just a pipedream! Production has begun! Stay tuned for details!

This is the second "Cal" thread that I have seen today and I must be totally out of the loop as I don't have a freakin' clue what all of this is about. What is this little cardboard box robot?
Its a japanese robot called danbo. Its probably the mini-version which
costs about $10.00. Google Danbo and there are a lot of cute pictures.

Thanks for the tip! I just ordered one to check it out. (thumbs uBZ, do you read Illustration Magazine? It is quickly becoming my favorite mag
now that CBM is no longer being published.
I've been picking up back issues from dealers when they come up for sale.
I have about 13 of them now. It's a terrific magazine.
I also enjoy Comic Art Magazine which is from the same publisher.

I visit the Today's Inspiration blog from time to time. (thumbs u

Disney also had their contraption, the Multi-plane camera that helped them add
depth to their animations. I love this stuff.

I make my cat wash her hands before she reads any of my comics.Darn cat!!!!It's odd seeing that Rick allowed his cat to walk on his comics. He was always a stickler for buying comics in the very best condition.
I also noticed that neither Rick nor the Collector's Bookstore bagged any of their comic books at that time.
Cat owners are like that I've noticed. They let them walk all over everything. So unsanitary!

In order to share their newfound passion, "picture-book" collectors took to the wires
and formed telegraph forums to discuss all-things-Obadiah.
