I think the majority of the higher-grade copies are locked up in the collections of long-time collectors. I get them when I see copies that I can afford and deem worth the selling or auction price. This copy here doesn't have the most exciting cover I've ever seen, but it's the second highest graded, with one other copy in grade and only one copy nicer at 8.0. After 23 of CGC grading, you'd think there'd be more in high-grade.

Of the books you posted, I only have the one issue I posted, but I DO have a growing pile of other issues around that same timeframe. They DO have a bit of a different flavor to them vs. the later monster books. I like both but have concentrated more of the monster issues.

Thanks buddy! I bought it a few years ago and GPA tells the story of me shelling out strong loot! There's just something about that brown banner (like the AF 15) that gets me every time.

Peter, I'm CERTAIN this was a bogus auction. Seller registered July 6th 2023, zero feedback and no other auction listings! I mean, it IS within the realm of possibility that it was real, but all things point to it smelling funny. If legit, the lack of seller credentials made it sell cheap.

You've inspired me to buy a copy of this book I saw earlier in the week! I don't have it in hand yet but am looking forward to reading it! Well, reading the REST of it, as I got a head start already, for my copy isn't encumbered with having a pesky cover to prevent me from seeing the splash page already! Hey, for less than $35, where can I find a BETTER reading copy?

It appears that the first offer to join the Fun Club debuted in New Fun Comics #4 with Jolly Bill, the Chief Funster providing club details and letting us in on the first password and countersign! From my research, More Fun #30 is the last such club page with password and countersign, then it all just disappeared.
