  1. WOW, what a fantastic story!!! Those are the breaks a guy hopes for! Nice people, ultra cool books at fair prices ... just an all around win win situation!!!
  2. I have a Swedish Edition of this issue as well, which I had certified a number of years ago. As you can see, they made some changes and added a base at the bottom area of the totem pole and eliminated the shadow from the pole. Kinda cool. I really dig the Joker covers!!!
  3. Thanks!!! Yeah, I think that's the only copy of it I've ever seen. Here's another rare example of that same issue. This time a Swedish Edition! One of the reasons that I love these foreign editions is that they frequently make artistic changes which make them a bit more unique. In THIS case, Two-Face kind of becomes One-Face as they redraw the damaged part of his face!!!
  4. Here's an Australian copy of this issue. Unusual and seldom seen, I guess Batman is loved all over the world!
  5. @Drgoldage Wow, that's an incredible run of killer Batman issues!!! I particularly dig the villain covers!!! VERY cool to see so many of them!!!
  6. That's a super sharp copy of a book I don't recall ever having seen before! Nice one!
  7. Saving a gal while on horseback to saving a gal while on horseback.
  8. Thanks! I hope to frame it up soon so I DO see it every day. If I remember correctly, it came from Jim Steranko's personal collection. He consigned a bunch of Platinum and Golden Age artwork and I bought up what I could afford. It got absorbed quickly and I haven't seen any of it come back out. This was the only Flessel piece I saw.
  9. Oh MAMA!!! I could honestly stare at them for hours, and I'm not kidding even a little bit!!! Thank you for sharing them!!!
  10. Will do! I'm not sure if you saw this little thread I started about a collection I called the Thrifty Grocer Collection. It's an interesting story. The link is below.
  11. Thanks!!! Make no mistake RM, I'm VERY happy with what I got and hope I didn't come off as being ungrateful for the additions to my collection, as I was conveying the details of the story. I was just trying to paint the full picture and the part that was missed out on was a big part of that story. Wow, YOU got the "Paul" collection??? I had no idea, but I HAVE seen several of the books, posted here and around the hobby! You're spot on about us needing to stay quiet about collections as they are unveiling themselves to us, unless we want to get weaseled out of the mix! With one exception for me, is my buddy of almost 30 years! I do my best to include him in on the fun, unless I can't, like I'm somewhere and it's going down right then and there, and he isn't around. It's more fun when everyone gets some books!
  12. I LOVE that Action Comics #1 ashcan cover!!! Yeah, Leo WAS older than a lot of the artists at DC. Kane was a teenager, Flessel was young ... I wish there was more surviving artwork from those artists! I know there's Flessel artwork from the text story in Detective #11 and I believe it was Heritage who auctioned it. I only have one piece of Flessel artwork and was VERY happy to add it to my collection! It's not a big deal or anything most would remember, but it's VERY early (Star Ranger #2 cover dated 4/37). Here it is and also what it looks like in the comic.
