  1. I gotta tell you guys that I am so impressed with this thread!!! I like Dennis when I was a kid in th eeraly 60s, especially those loooong summer annual vacation issues. But when this thread appeared, I had no inkling it would become such a hotbed of activity for so long!! BRAVO!
  2. Another score for Comiclink! Nice book. Congrats. Looks like youre back with a vengeance.
  3. was Giella a victim of tghe DC insurance firings? Where certain artists and writers demanded coverage and DC responded by letting them go?
  4. Sid inked Gil Kanes Green Lantern for awhile. And Infantino in Detective. He also did one of the recurring Strange Adventures strips (Space Museum??) that always looked tight and sharp and realistic in a stylized way
  5. yeah. This has been a nice walk down memory lane! Ive broken out laughing at just the MENTION of some of these great almost forgotten moments! WAY more!
  6. Lately, I've been thinking back on all the issues weve dealt with here, from the serious to the ridiculous. The flareups, the hissy fits, the departures and the shills, the Dupcak scars and the dealer wars. So lets create a top ten CGC Boards Events list and recap some of the fun we've all spent so much quality time dissecting and enjoying, shall we? Heres 6 without doing any research to start, but I know there are many more!! The Wheels are in Motion rollercoaster JC/Gene Crash Theories and missed deadlines Pressing, ad nausea SCS damage Hammer sightings and rants HCOP crybaby exit.
  7. other than what appears to be a small impact crease on the spine right over aquaman's head, i can't see anything wrong with this beauty........... but, again, what a lame cover. i'm with you on cover # 2 and i also always liked #4........... lots of HG JLAs in the next Heritage...... too many!
  8. as I am amazed by AdamStrange's raw collection od sweet DC s.
  9. Actually, Im kinda surprised Chuck never got the Dallas copy slabbed, arent you guys? Was it sold to someone who broke it out? Or did Chuck? Or did Chuck not think it was high grade enough to slab with all the other Dallas books he sent out? Scott, whats the story? What did they tell you?
  10. mmm... I wonder what that could be???
  11. heh heh. I was hoping somebody would remember little ol me. But, in all fairness, mune has that upper right corner so, who knows? fixed a stupid typo!
  12. Nice looking book FFB. Im happy for ya!
  13. I just went back, ALL the way back to the beginning of this awesome thread. This was the very first post. And I want to congratulate evryone who has posted herein, and specifically thank Sterling for starting it. And, to remind him and everyone else that this thread's First Anniversary is April 13th!! Happy Birthday!
  14. but why would anyone slab a 7.0 from the 70s...... on purpose???
  15. yknow, that a pretty sweet looking 5.0!
  16. needs a bit more red... but anyway. Hey Hook, why diont you take a shot at it?
  17. maybe like this as a quick stab at it.
  18. Boy does anyone else here want to vote for a re-color of this cover?? It could havebeen so much more dramatic, and dark, instead of a sky blue cave ceiling?
  19. lotta blue painting on the spine...
  20. whats cool about this thread is that CGC was supposed mean th eend of Pedigree status bevcause it would elevate the grade over provenance. It made sense finally that a no-name 9.6 would sell for more than a Pedigree 9.4. But, as wee see, Pedigrees are as strong as ever, if not stronger in their appeal to us collectors. interesting turn of events!
  21. awwww, cut it out, yer making me blush!! Compared to your book parade of pleasure Im humbled...
  22. looks like John Forte's inks.... but I dont know. I agree, very nicely drawn anatomy and foreshortening.
  23. Id love to see what PCE would price it at since he has so many other lesser DC keys for staggering prices on his site..
