  1. Very generous grade on the top right corner. Too big of a color break for that grade. Reviewer has to argue it doesn’t break color, which maybe it doesn’t when in person.
  2. 7.5-8.5 depending severity of that bottom left corner. Top left corner is very rounded, that alone caps book at 8.5.
  3. Here’s my low budget solution. This is my walk-in closet, gets no light except if the closet light is on.
  4. 6.0, top right corner holds this to 7.0 max. Bottom left back may press out. The foxing really hurts the eye appeal.
  5. If that’s a tear on the back cover, I’m at 5.5 on this. If it’s just a spot, maybe 7.0.
  6. Nm, decided the bacK was just color transparency.
  7. Just looking for a grade? Curious how hard the spine tears hurt it. I’m thinking 4.5.
  8. I was looking at the pic and wondering about the spot on the back cover, lower left. It was some crud that game right off. Also my lighting is a bit dark, the pages are closer to cream than tan.
  9. I’m new getting in to this and have hit these square bound books hard on my grading. I’d like to check what I think based on this comic. This comic has a 1/2” spine split at the top and 1/4” split at the bottom. Edit: fixed topic name, and added better light back cover.
  10. I’ve got this at a 8.5 unless that stain affects the grade? I’m thinking a slight chance it can press to a 9, but doubtful?
  11. Looks like the return is fine. I went ahead bought one with the tattoo instead. The price on this book seems to spiking. I think 9.0s with a tattoo are 5-600 right now.
  12. Hello, I’m new to the hobby and stumbled upon what I think could be a very tricky scam tonight. I purchased a no tattoo AS 238 on ebay at roughly a 9.0 grade at $250. The seller had 11 pictures of everything but the back cover and claimed it near perfect shape. I got the comic today in a flexible shipping envelope with absolutely no packing at all (no cardboard, just the comic inside the plastic and the normal white backer. It was obviously damaged with 1 corner having a 1” bend. ALSO, the back cover had a 1” tear on it not related to shipping, but clearly where the tattoo insert was ripped out. I was pretty pissed, but the seller said they were surprised it was damaged and offered a full refund. I noticed the pastic had a previous sale sticker on it “No Tattoo, $75.” I got to wondering about wtf really is going on. Did the seller buy a $75 comic that had with the tear, hide it on an ebay sale, insure it for the ebay sale, then ship it such that they knew it would be damaged? Thus they put it on the claim and profit?
