  1. 5.0. Bottom left front, spine damage, tear.
  2. Does’t look like a chip, look like a bug was eating the stain there. That matters to me. 5.5 from me.
  3. Not often we are off so far. I looked at this again, and hold my grade at 7.0. Maybe you see the top left shading line as a hit to the 6 range, but I see no way this is below a 6.0. I also pulled my 80s price guide and a 6.0 copy was worth $90 in 1989. I suspect the sellers grade was higher for him to pay $115 5 years or so earlier. Would love to see you slab this and verify.
  4. 6.5 also. The creases on the back cover are a bit too many/large for 7.0+. You are missing a full back cover picture so it is a bit hard to put your shots into prosoective.
  5. I’d be at 7.5 as is. Press could remove all of the writing on the front, but the one on the back will not come out imo. Cardstock will hold the shape moreso than other paper.
  6. I remove these all the time. If you want it gone, erase it off. You might have to feather erase around it if you pull off some other dirt around it. That said, this mark is not hurting your grade and adds some history to the book. The shape of the paper, water drop stain and crease on the front are the determining factors. I said 4.5, I’m at 5.0 after looking at it again. The lower left back looked brittle, but maybe it’s not.
  7. Staple looks production, however if not, I don’t see it changing the grade. 7.0
  8. That’s not a scuff, that’s a full peel off. 3.5 from me. Without the tanning and top right crease I could maybe get to 4.5, but I’m at 5.0 before considering the peel.
  9. 4.5, take an eraser and erase the pencil mark off. Biggest hit is the front crease running through the S.
  10. It looks like you cut out the crease on the front cover pic? Trying to fool the volunteer graders??? 🤪 What’s on the bottom left front corner?? I think the combo of the spine (particularly by Kingpin’s foot), lower right corner and the top crease takes this to a 7.0. Just too many small defects for an 8.0.
  11. 5.5, won’t press out, not production.
  12. 8.0 on this. Lower left being the biggest flaw i see. Might could even see this getting better after c/p. Hard to zoom in on the fuzzy corners and really feel how large it is when on pics. If they deep that minor, you could see 9.0.
  13. This one is a 6.0 after c/p. Small stain on lower left and a defined crease on top right.
  14. 7.5 if the with a press on back top left. I think it will press out. 6.5 if it does’t.
  15. Needs a clean. 7.0 after the clean. 6.5 as is.
  16. I think you might get 5.5, but not a 6. The combo of the pen, top right corner and spine hold this below 6. O don’t think you would get below a 5 though.
  17. Looks 7.0 to me. Some paper aging and Pretty fuzzy top left, but the rest of book is really nice. $8000 book or so.
  18. When I see dings in the same spot on different pictures, I know there is a flaw there. They do not have to break color to pull down from 9.6/9.8. I’ve worked on spots like this a lot, and you aren’t getting them out. On these modern books, you can’t work the dings much without rubbing the color. I see 3 solid flaws, and maybe some light edge wear on the spine. Solid 9.4 to me.
  19. 5.0, will c/p to a 5.5. Too much creasing/wear on the top left and top right to go higher. The paper quality is worn a bit too. Fits right in the 5 range.
