  1. Nah, the rule of "If 2 Sub Grades Match, that is the final score(lower of the if 2 pairs of matching Sub Grades are present). That should be a final grade of 8. I would definitely keep until CGC is more popular.
  2. Maybe you should talk to CGC? If the cards are suppose to be that "faded" due to different manufacturing then it deserves a higher score.
  3. I thought about that to but it actually doesn't make sense. If a say Spanish version of a perfect 10 is faded still, then it wouldn't get dinged for it. It's the same thing with shadowless/1st edition base. Most of those cards are much more "faded"(not really, just less color during print or something like that) compared to unlimited. Shadowless/1st Edition do not get dinged for being more "faded". So one of 2 things- CGC screwed up and not realizing these cards are normally that "faded" compared to their counterparts, or as I said, sunlight. I'm still banking on sunlight cause I have serious doubts that these specific cards were all made in completely different factories. Extremely limited run Promos like this would very likely be made in the same factory thus there should be no difference in the standard out of factory quality and normally cards don't come faded from the factory, it's extremely rare.
  4. It's pretty clear the surface became faded and the #1 culprit tends to be sunlight. If it's sunlight, it likely faded before you received them. I never been to a Championship but don't they have the cards out for display before you won them? It's possible that's when they got hit by direct sunlight. It really doesn't take a long time to start fading cards especially behind some kind of glass that can amplify the light. The only other way is high heat for a long time like a super hot attic. Till you mentioned it, I didn't notice the border was a silver color for the 8 card(cool). I was simply pointing out that it scored 7 on surface, you can clearly see how more faded it was compared to the cards which graded 9 on the surface. Just trying to explain why the cards got graded the way they were.
  5. Sweet Collection man, even better you won them! The reason some of those Tropical Wind Cards graded low was for Surface. If you look at the cards with higher Surface Grade, you'll notice they are not faded. You can even see the Fade with the 8 Card too. Likely exposure to sunlight. It doesn't take long for UV to do serious damage to almost anything. Likely was left somewhere that sunlight hit it for extended periods of time.
  6. You know how error cards are worth more? Maybe a CGC Error Slab is worth more lol. I'd hold it.
  7. Hello! I want to do a couple things here. One is to discuss the Pros and Cons of Custom/Different/Themed Slab Stickers. Two is to discuss how to refine and make the Current Slab Sticker better. So First- Custom/Different/Themed Stickers: Pros- Can have unique Stickers to Sets and have something different for everyone's taste since some people don't like the Current Sticker. Cons- Will lead to Brand Dilution. Instead of seeing a very limited, but standard, stickers when people shop- instead it's going to be a bunch of random Stickers. I am in the camp of the Cons outweigh the Pros in the end. I can understand the wanting to have different stickers. It's a very desirable concept. However, it will destroy CGC's Brand Recognition. People are not going to be happy to have to remember every sticker for just 1 Grader. Slabs can get away with very small Sticker Variations for something like their 10s. This is fine and works. Having 10-20 different stickers just cause? It's a nightmare. I am sorry for breaking people's hearts who REALLY want that cool Custom/Themed Sticker but you would be giving up the future of CGC for it. However- That doesn't mean the Current Sticker Can't be Refined. I have several ideas: 1. Grade Font Sizes. I think the Numbers for all the Grades can use a slight uptick in Font Size. At the very least, make the Sub Grades just a bit bigger than PSA's Final Grade. Sounds like not alot but it actually does when ya think about it. If anything, I feel there's just a little bit too much Dead Space around the Sub Grade Area and regardless of other Grading Companies Font Sizes, I feel this should be improved on. 2. Sub Grade Details: I have an interesting way to give a little more Tasteful "Flair" that gives alot more info: A. Centering: You can add small arrows indicating the direction the card is off center by. If the card is a 10, it gets a special Symbol behind the 10 to show it has Perfect Centering. Keep the 10 Symbol the Same for all Sub 10s. B. Surface: This ones tricky. I'm not sure what can be done tbh. Everything I can come up with either is too complicated(has to be super simple like the Centering Arrows) or taking up alot of room. C. Corners: Very Easy and Simple like Centering. Have a Marker at each Corner of the Sub Grade Number showing that's where the flaws are. It can be a very simple Rounded Edge Symbol. D. Edges: Again, Very Easy and Simple. Have a Straight Line on each edge of the Sub Grade Number where the flaw is. Outside of Surface, I think the other 3 are super easy to add and would put CGC ahead of everyone else in the Sub Grade Game. 3. Final Grade. Much like Sub Grades, the Final Grade Number could use some refinement. There's too much Dead Space at the bottom. It's feels Off-Center, especially 10's. 10's just look so badly high. I feel the Number Font Size is Good, maybe a Hair Bigger. I think the Words(NM, Mint, Gem, Pristine, Perfect) could use a bump in Font Size and be moved just a hair down from the top giving it just a bit more spacing since it's quite a bit close. 4. Perfect 10 Sticker. Wow, did I just suggest a different sticker after crapping all over the idea? Yeah but remember, it's ok if it's 1 time like this. I honestly wouldn't start adding anymore Different Stickers than 1 for Perfect 10. I thought about if it's good to even have a "Silver" Variation (if Perfect is "Gold", Pristine is "Silver") and ultimately I think that's a bad idea. It's too much. 5. Back. There sure is alot of Dead Space. I'm not saying the whole thing needs filling but I got 2 things that can fit very nicely back here. A. Date of Grading. I am actually kinda annoyed and disappointed that there's no date on the sticker. I wouldn't put it in the Front but the Back is just so full of room and it's very fitting. B. Graded By. Kinda iffy but I think a cool idea. It may need to be by request since I can understand why there would be Employees who do not wish to catch flack from people not grading their card the way they wanted. Definitely a big Con no matter how ya slice it. Would still be cool if you could find the Graders who would be willing to put their name to Slab and allow the service to those who wish for it. So that's it for now. As I think of more I'll add. I do want to do some Photoshopping to show the improvements in what I am talking about. Maybe later in the week.
  8. I have no experience on these full arts so I am guessing here: Is the centering a bit high? I am using the text at the bottom as reference since we don't have a top border to compare to. When looking at the Charizard posted after, the text is more centered on the bottom border. I don't know if that's a legit way about centering with these full sizes. It could be the text is not suppose to be centered within the bottom border for the card to be centered.
  9. Here's my recommendation to CGC, Offer your slabs with just an Info Card inside. There's a few uses for such a thing: -Fitment: People can use the Info Slab to test fit some kind of display they are making. They do not need to worry about damaging a good slab. -Allow people to buy a sample of what they would be getting. It lets them see if they like the slab more vs competitors. -Make Money? The card Inside the Slab would hold a list of all possible information: -Company Info -Dimensions(Inside and Out) -Weight -Material -Features of the slab(Rounded corners to help shock from falls, whatever stuff it's coated with to protect the card, etc) -Whatever else people can think of that I am probably missing Thoughts? I know I would love to buy a couple just so I can use them for projects without messing up a good slab.
  10. I think it's worse than you think. The Card Value is based on the GRADED card, not the RAW you submitted. A big part of the reason for this is insurance on the return shipping. When I spoke to CGC, the basic idea is you can opt for lower insurance but you won't get fully covered if something happens. Roll the Dice if you like, upto you.
  11. Damn those things look sweet. Tempted to get a bunch just for alot of things Do you have a space between each slab or just have them touching? Is it 500 slabs per case or like 600/600/300(or similar) that you're fitting them? I'd only disagree about recommending that PSA Box over that awesome case. Screw Fancy, Case looks like it carries Launch Codes
  12. OMG - I made a once in a decade one of a kind discovery at a dumb price. I want to share but I will be starting my 3rd and Final 2021 Poke Collection and don't want to give it completely away(though anyone who follows what I post can easily guess what the 3rd Collection will be ) All I can say is I found an error vintage card for the Final Collection, and it's a GOOD one---- NO, It's literally going to be THE Trophy of likely my entire Poke Collection dating back even 22 years ago. And I only paid $200 for it
  13. REVEALED! Building a 25th Ann. Collection. There's more to come as we are just past 1/3 into the year. Also waiting on orders to come in Here's the current listing shown. 10 Complete McD 25 Holo AND Non-Holo. 30 Sealed McD Meal Packs 30 McD Deck Holders 55 McD Packs McD Sticker Sets (I'll recount later) 103 General Mills Family Size Packs 100 2021 Lunar Pikachu Red Envelopes (while there is no official 25 Ann. on these, I feel they still count in a way) Some of the off picture stuff I'll share is there are several intact in great condition cereal boxes(I think over 120 of em). Also the Partner Pack Jumbo cards which I got a case of coming in as well as those jumbo binders. Picked up a few posters which I think is a decent pickup when the poke center store limits 4 binders -.-* If you read upto this point and want in, here is my greatest advice and wish I saw from the start how much better than kinda overspending here. Get the McD Meal Pack CASES 150ct. These are by far the best in everyday from price to condition. Some of my holos got center wear from rough handling by employees. Getting a sealed case is perfect since it'll be handled with care and far more likely to have the best condition when 99% were not by employees. Price is dumb good too cause you can find cases for $700 still making each Meal Pack less then $5. Packs alone sell for $8-12 right now so you do the math. If you pickup a case, open it to verify contents, sealed it up and seran wrap and place case in another box with shipping materials. Come back in 5 years if you want quick gains for hold for the 50th Ann. where a case like that would hold a serious premium. Happy Hunting!
  14. Damn, I never really cared for those ultra OG cards but man, what a sweet set of cards.
  15. So here's my heads up to all those who wish to get a great deal. I got my slice of meat and I wish to share with you all what I can't buy right now. Kanto Power Collection is WAY undervalued for those who want XY Evolutions. They are selling at $200(I got mine for $176 shipped, seller has like 7 more boxes). Assume the box comes with ONLY 10 Factory Sealed(Like a 10 Pack Sealed Booster Box). That's $20 per pack where Factory Sealed Booster Boxes cost $1,000 or $28 per pack. Buying 3-4 of these boxes is like buying a Sealed Booster Box for $720 that can be sold off in parts. Now coming back to reality- These Factory Sealed Boxes come with more than just 10 packs and is way more fancy/shiney than a box. If a Factory Sealed Booster Box is $1,000($28/Pack), than these boxes should be priced at $320-350($32-35/Pack). Bare minimum should be $280 just to match the Booster Box. Here's a SS of my Ebay Order of 5, I'll post pictures when it comes in! There's a Dragonite Version but I like Mewtwo WAY more so I got Mewtwo. Happy Hunting! EDIT: So I started down a somewhat medium size hole after looking more and more into these Battle Box stuff. Turns out there's a very large selection of these types of boxes with varying degrees of gains. Some have random packs while ones like what I got have strictly defined packs and in large numbers(10s alot when 4 is more the norm). Right now, the best deals I feel is still the Kanto Power Boxes at 10 XY EVO cards and then the Hatterene/Dubwool with Champions Path. Alot of the other boxes have packs that are, lets say a mix of S-F tier while these boxes are only S tier packs. I did buy quite alot of other boxes but that's also cause I do LOVE Jumbo Cards and patiently wait for CGC to give a REASONABLE service here. Have you guys seen the graded slabs by BGS/PSA? They are clownishly huge compared to the size of the card. I hope CGC can see this and offer something that doesn't look silly like the current offerings. Then after buying those Boxes I realize people pay so little for the Jumbo Cards that I ended up finding less then $0.50/Card Deals on well kept cards in sleeves. Don't regret the boxes cause I know I can sell them anytime at a gain.
  16. They did not let me buy it by the case, they let me buy it by the caseS.
  17. Sooooooooooo..... this is what happens when you walk past the center aisle where no one ever takes cereal from and notice a pikachu on one box. And after going through all those boxes and everything before, I sit at a total of 104 packs(all from family size) 90 from toast, 8 cocoa puffs and 5 trix. Damn that alot of packs
  18. Got this in today: 20 more red envelopes came now making the count 96. Waiting on last 4 to come to have a complete 100 set. And speaking of sets, the last of my 500 card set came as well! Once I get all 300 of these toploaded, I'll post the complete collection set!
  19. Quick update: Stacking over 100 toploaders got sketchy 50 toploaders ago. Now I have some proper boxes to store them in! I'll experiment for now how to showcase the updates but I see it being something like this; We shall see!
  20. You can go online and find an IRS approved donation center that will write you a slip to deduct some of your taxes. It's not alot but I guess I like to even keep the bones to make soup Also if you don't keep the receipt, you can take a picture at the stores barcode/price thing on the shelf to show how much the cereal cost. At least the donation center I go to doesn't care if they come in bags or not. Also you can go on amazon and get "art sleeves" for not that expensive to put them in. I still haven't ordered mine yet as I haven't had the chance to properly measure everything as I have to McGyver something for the bottom only cut boxes. Family size is impossible to find a proper protective sleeve like the funko cereal. Only display cases that cost $30 each. Yeah, that's like half of what I paid for my booster box cases... And I get it cause of size/shipping but still argh....
  21. LOL. You got the Cinnamon Toast too! Was the majority of what I could even find. I ended up going to the other store but it turned out they had like half of the 1st store like 1 day apart. I even spent twice the time rummaging through all the back to find every single last one and only ended up with like 15. Even the Pikachu Pokemon Cereal only had ONE red one(they come in green, blue, and red). Like wow that went fast. Still, at the end I got an extra 50something packs added and a ton of cereal to donate. Did you keep your boxes? I got mine in some moving boxes. It was so many I ended up cutting the glue at the top to allow me to fold the boxes for most of the toast crunch. The rest are still just bottom cut to take the cereal/pack out. I was quite surprised how easy the whole thing was. I guess it comes natural since I was ALWAYS that kid who was super careful opening anything not to damage it unless it becomes inevitable and I just rip the whole thing apart. I watched some people opening packs on youtube and literally am shocked at how abusive they are opening the whole thing. I used to use exacto knives to perfectly cut the wrappers and was always so careful in removing the cards. I regret not keeping the wrappers and boxes cause I didn't think they would actually ever be worth anything. Still, I am starting to get why Japanese cards get graded so high
