  1. Patience.... OK! Misty's Tears were altered in JAPAN CAUSE IT HAS HER NAKED. NAKED. NAKED. FULL BOOBY HENTAI FAN FICTION NAKED. JAPAN changed it, NOT THE USA. JAPAN CHANGED IT BEFORE ANY ENGLISH SPEAKER EVER SAID THE WORDS POKEMON CARD. Explain that please and for Gaze with the Middle Finger, Grimer Looking up a Skirt, and Koga's Ninja Trick Swat Symbol Change to whatever the new symbol is. Cause Japan did ALL THAT before 1999 when it was released for international markets.
  2. Explain why a 1st Edition Charizard, which meets all the criteria you just layed out, is worth more than say literally any card that was printed as many times? All those cards I listed off are changed prints. I.E in the middle of the run, the artwork was CHANGED. Moo-moo/Jynx being a bit different. If you look at US version of Moo-moo, the reprints are not based on the first Japanese one, INCLUDING JAPANESE REPRINTS, not the banned version I have. I think you are getting too tied up in semantics in using the Word "Banned." Would you prefer "Altered"? "Mid Run Change"? What? Cause I feel the problem lies with that I am using the word Banned here and you won't show any flexibility to let that include any reason outside of gameplay.
  3. Ok- Last Time I am Saying This. You are talking about GAMEPLAY banned cards. I am talking about ARTWORK banned cards. These are 2 VERY DIFFERENT THINGS and are banned for VERY DIFFERENT REASONS. Collectors have not, do not, and will not ever care what is good at the game otherwise Charizard would be WORTHLESS. Collectors care about a multitude of other factors, Gameplay(and any cards Banned because of it) is not even on the radar. The only time I can think of a GAMEPLAY banned card being worth anything to collectors is if it made the print limited. Sure, those would have collectors value but again for differing reasons.
  4. You are in-correct. Japan changed Misty's Tears Art. Japan Changed Koga's Ninja Trick- which funny enough made the revision more rare cause it was done later in the run. Sabrina's Gaze was also changed in Japan. Jynx is Purple from Outside Japan, which was Black 98 and earlier in Japan. One year before international release Japan began making Jynx more Purple. This is an alteration and everyone who knows about it agrees. I disagree with those who say the Coro Coro ones are banned cause those are just cards normally exclusive to Japan without any outside Japan printings of the same card/art/anything. Moo-Moo Milk is indeed banned as Japan has altered all future iterations of Moo-Moo Milk to be more inline with the International artwork. Plus man, I was picking those up for $5-8. Now I can't win an auction under $25 on them. What a price increase. These are not rumors. Go look it up yourself. If you like, later I can send an upclose picture of Misty's Tears then tell me if you think it was appropriate for kids to have such Graphic Cards, ESPECIALLY in the mid 90's. Again- you can scream all the way around the world that X card is better at the game, collectors don't care.
  5. Well we are just talking about 2 VERY different types of banned here my friend. Have you seen Misty's Tears Up Close? She's not just naked, she's FULL BOOB (Front, Top, Side) naked. It's literally almost Hentai. I am a little worried to even post an upclose picture of the art cause it literally is almost Hentai. I am sorry to say but collectors tend not to care about what's good in the game. Technically every energy card is more useful than a 1st Edition Base Charizard(boy, Charizard did suck so much didn't he?) but look at the price and tell me game play has any real world effect on collectors pricing? I am not too aware but I heard prior generations where cards were good at the game were priced pretty high but as soon as it rotated to the next set, prices fell like a rock and pretty much stayed there. My Jungle Scyther(arguably one of the best pokemon in vintage) is not worth alot just cause it's good at the game. Just is what it is.
  6. Man, you just aren't aware how amazing Yaris are. They are like the 86 of our time. I was lapping Porches on HPDEs in one cause my STi was down. RWD is an over valued platform for most people. FWD is just so much more fun, especially in sub 3000 pounds. RWD feels more like a chore -.-0 Careful not to overlift! Careful not to Trail Brake too much! Careful not to get back on the gas too hard! Careful not to blah blah blah. FWD don't give 2 fs, Just brake hard into a trail brake and smash the gas, hit the apex with a big s eating grin- what makes it so fun. I did say several times I am not in the flipping game right now, correct? I hustled in the OG so I know what you are talking about those small gains is all it is, just done as many times as you can. I get it. But- again, I am not in the FLIP game anymore. Like you said, it only makes so much money now compared to a normal job. And unlike a normal job, there's no stability. I simply changed my assets from some of my Silver(not my good stuff like Mint Fresh 1944 and under silver coins in rolls[dime, nickel, quarter, half and full dollar or Silver ATBs). I barely spent a penny of my liquid cash on any of this. So far, I have double-tripled my value in a week. Again- ON A LONG INVESTMENT. I am happy
  7. One of my favorite cars of all time is a 2008(not 2009 with all the added garbage like ABS) Yaris Hatch. MAN what a neutral and predictable car. I would take off ramps sideways in that thing all day long. What a blast. Even more fun to edge away from cars like GTRs on the ramps to watch em fly by and having that bragging rights of how long it'll take for em to pass on the straight. I was 13. I knew nothing about stock. I never claimed I made the 100% best choices in life, only I did the best I could given my circumstances. I started off wanting to play. You know how hard it was to ever play cause you couldn't afford a full deck? Then to find out you had some skills to help you attain those cards and gather a collection? BTW, My Mr. Mime Deck would wreck you, it wrecked everyone. I am unfamiliar with stocks. What stocks can I have at home to look at? What stocks can I buy now and expect to be around in 25 years? What stocks can I hand down to my child? I am all 3 catagories. Player, investor, collector. Rare, but true. Look at my boxes as proof Do I play Pokemon today? Nah, I like Digital TCG games more like Hearthstone. Sorry, Digital just brings a game mechanic dynamic you can not have with physical cards. Plus I play for free in the Battlegrounds so :P But my kid is 4 1/2, he is starting his own collection. When he's old enough to read and know how to play the game I am sure I'll pickup whatever generation of TCG Pokemon to play. Btw, some of my brothers collection: As you can see, he is very happy he listened to me 20 years ago.
  8. Ok- This will be the last response and I am done. 1- Yes I did showcase you those boxes(as well as slabs of 1st edition stuff, do you not see that 1st Edition Blastoise?). You thought I didn't know they were 1st edition just cause I was too lazy to type it all out. That or you are not participating in this discussion in good faith and I got sinked into a twitter talk. Pick, both are not great. 2. Accept it. People 20 years ago told me it was dumb to get those Fossil and Jungle 1st Editions because they printed more of those than ALL of Base 1st edition AND unlimited. That was THEIR ARGUMENT. That if I wanted to buy something worthwhile I should just buy unlimited Base. I believe 100%, based on my talks so far with you, that you are EXACTLY that same type of person doing the same today. Go ahead, keep doing you. I will do me cause it works for me. 3. Like I would auction off 20k and let them take 10% on a single item. I know how to sell my stuff, and boy do I have stuff. You do not even want to know how much ammo I moved last year. Begins with M. 4. Again- like I would let an auction house take my money at 10% on a 20k item 5. I was the guy in 2019 saying that. I was watching China. I pay attention to international news. If you paid as much attention as I was, you would have seen it too. I wasn't sure back then how bad it was gonna get but I saw the writing on the wall and acted as best as I could. Edit: I forgot to reply to the part about "it can get ya a Toyota lol". Did you not read? I paid less for a box than a decent bike would cost me at the same time period, that same box NOW can get me a NEW CAR. And you're response is it's not a en Tesla? You sound ultra privileged you know? The best car we had growing up was some smoke stanked 1980's Ford Taures growing up. I think I'm doing pretty damn good, Tesla or not... Now listen, again this is the last time I am going to respond if you're next one is going to clearly ignore what I put effort into trying to tell you. Too many times you skimmed through what I was saying and thus do not even understand. Leave the twitter Clap Back, Snap Back talk or I'm just not gonna share anymore.
  9. First off- YOU do not know what my collection is. If you followed a single thread I made pertaining to my collection you would know I know. Please leave the twitter talk to twitter. Second- You still are not getting it. That is LITERALLY the argument put forward to me. That FIRST EDITION FOSSIL/JUNGLE was printed TEN TIMES MORE THAN 1ST EDITION BASE. I am sure you literally would be the one telling me that 20something years ago cause everyone did. Stop acting like you know what I am doing or how I operate, you clearly know nothing about some stranger on the internet or the decades of history involved in that from just a couple posts. Third- Just to prove you know nothing about this vintage stuff I grew up with: I honestly forget right now if it was Fossil or Jungle cause I get the 2 mixed up ALL the time still, but one of their EARLY unlimited runs is worth WAY more due to all the holos missing the Series Symbol. So to say their unlimited runs are worthless shows you do not know the nuances. No, I do not own such a box because I could not afford to gamble buying those unlimited boxes and not knowing if it was an error ones by the time I found out. Again, 2000s before smart phones I was very aware but unable to act so I did the best I could. Fourth- Money has not inflated almost double in 25 years... I can prove this to you. Those 1st Edition boxes I THINK cost me like $200 each. I could not buy a decent bicycle for $200 in 2000. Hell, that couldn't even get you a top GPU in 2000. Today, they are worth ~$20,000 each(give or take a couple grand). I can buy a new car with one of those booster boxes today. I think you're view on inflation is quite skewed. I bought 30 bottles of hand sanitizer for WuFlu back in early Feb. I gave them out to my local community like Fire Stations, Schools, Police, etc in March cause I knew people would be stupid and buy it all up at once and everyone around me would be left with nothing. Again, tell me I don't know what I am doing =/
  10. I will respect you all have your strategies. I have mine. Mine have worked VERY well for me over my life. I do not think mine is the best, I think it's the best for me. You all very much do the same, go do you. I'll go do me.
  11. It's relevant in that everyone tends to believe they are in the Golden Age for whatever their thing is. Sometimes that's true. But literally, LITERALLY every argument you made is a repeat of arguments from 2000. I'm so stupid for getting Jungle/Fossil Boxes, don't you know they printed 10x more of those than Base 1st Edition? Man what a waste of money- they all said. Why would I get Japanese Promo cards? No one cares about that. What a waste to get that CD and sealed southern islands pack or Neo Files- They all said. You paid $100 for a PIECE OF CARDBOARD. God, you think that Charizard is going to be worth anything more then $40 in a year?- They all said. I heard it all, it's all the same arguments. You think things have changed- life lesson: The more things change, the more they stay the same. I think I know what I am doing.
  12. It's very funny- everything you just told me was what everyone else was trying to tell me 20something years ago. I think I know what I am doing.
  13. IMO it really depends. I got those 2 perfect ones for 450 each. 2 were sold at $1,200 each. I could triple my money today on these so I have a hard time believing that there's no worth in them. Is there better and crazier like what you listed off, yup. But they are not the entire market. I also got this Chari in. I don't really agree with you, in the long haul, that this $400 purchase can't become insane in say 20 or 30 years? I think that 2020 is going to carry more weight into the future. I will say I do not KNOW the flip market. Don't know, don't care. But I think you should rethink your opinion that I don't understand card markets. This is just some of the collection I made when I was 13. That collection cost me about $1,500. Today, $100,000. I think I know what I'm doing. Edit: Will also add, I paid for all those myself from buying and selling pokemon cards in middle school. I was very good at upselling and knowing how to make small cards big, and big cards bigger. Enough so I was able to purchase all these as my collection. So, I UNDERSTAND the flip market, I do not KNOW the flip market today and again, do not care.
  14. I can see from a flipper perspective why the cards I picked out would not really be viewed as premium. However, I am not in the flipping game. I am in for the long haul. Once I am fully done, I am likely to buy safe(s), shove everything in with some being displayed and rotated in and out of display. My collection will likely go to my Son, so long as he grows up to be a good human. I also happen to personally like how the cards I picked out looked, especially the Pokecenter Lady. IMO it's THE Waifu card to have as it's the best looking IMO. I don't get why Marnie is so popular, is it a good game card? If so, then what good is it in a sealed slab? My Jungle Scyther is not worth alot just cause it was good at the game. So I believe with time, people will value the Pokecenter Lady since it really is the best looking one and I doubt anything soon will top it. Well I am not saying people need to buy up CGC 9/9.5s and turn them into PSA 10s. All someone has to do is literally grab all the CGC 10s and mark their price higher than PSA. What is the market going to reply with? That these stricter, rarer(cause CGC has less slabs than PSA), higher then your PSA 10 slabs are not worth more? People will follow.
  15. Now add this: If supply is indeed a big part of pricing, consider the following: PSA chugs out a ton of cards with years past worth as well. CGC isn't currently meeting what PSA can output and only what, a year of grading cards? Combine that there's literally no PSA equal to any CGC 10 and there just isn't that many on the market cause it's so much harder to get those 10s. It's not hard for one of these investors to dump 30g into buying up the majority of CGC 10s and set a higher price then PSA 10s. It literally only takes 1. BTW, I have been buying some CGC 10s. Honestly, there just isn't that many and been buying up all the cheaper ones I could find for the past couple weeks. Here's a couple I bought: Waiting on 2 more Perfect 10 Promo Pikas Also some smaller cheaper ones I could find. By no means am I the guy buying up ALL the CGC 10's just the ones I felt were severely under valued. Can you believe I paid $250 each for the Pokemon Center Lady? Jeez, the Ultimate Waifu Card in Pristine 10 for that little feels like highway robbery.
  16. I would say you are mostly right about sub grades, but that's for investors. I think to a collector, sub grades matter alot more. It gives them a more indepth view at what is going on with a card and why it was graded what it was. Even when it comes to 10s, I think there's a difference between 2 10's in sub grades and 4 10s. I think we are not seeing this manifest itself in the market because people have their money tied with the popular PSA. For investors to start acknowledging that CGC 10's are more pristine would require they migrate their inventories over to CGC. I see them eventually doing this, but on their own terms so we'll probably never know when they will do such a flip. Again, likely when it benefits themselves will we start to see what I consider "normalization" between the grading companies. Afterall, it can only last so long for people to pickup waaaay cheaper CGC 9's with 9.5+ centering and turning them over into PSA 10's. The market will adjust for this eventually.
  17. I can only say why I picked CGC. I just think they deliver a superior product at a reasonable price than competitors. I think PSA has a major issue with consistency and being too relaxed in grading. I am a big supporter of Sub Grades which PSA isn't doing. I think the CGC slab is superior. The cards in my PSA slab move around. Even my wife, who knows nothing about any of this, even brought it up and said isn't this a problem? To which I tried defending PSA but realized it really is a bad design. I also think the CGC slab looks better, even the blue sticker. I also see CGC likely changing the industry to more automated grading with fewer human subjective opinion being part of the factor and speeding up everything. Though I will say once that happens- it's going to be a hyper bubble that will grow big and fast and pop just as fast. Once CGC can literally flood the market with slabs as quickly as people can submit, supply will quickly overflow the real demand. Be careful once that happens and plan accordingly.
  18. Hello Shining! Well I wasn't address them, I am trying to help YOU. First piece of advice on this context, learn to ignore the noise so you don't miss the real prizes in life. Again, be honest with yourself, what gains are you making by playing in the mud with what you believe to be a bunch of kids? Go focus on the positive things in life and try to be more stoic with things like the grading. Best of luck!
  19. Hello! I can assure you that you have alot of room to grow! Think of it this way, do you want to be 50 and say you know just as much as you did when you were 29? Ofcourse not! Life is a journey of growth and you'll eventually learn how to be patient and also how to better deal with perceived lose in positive ways.
  20. Right, so I'm just gonna try a little here. Shining, I am not trying to berate you and legitimately trying to help. How old are you? I suspect you are young, but not so young you couldn't make enough money to spend $900 on grading. When you are this young, you think you know alot more than you really know. We all been there, it's very natural. It's very easy to try to lock onto things like "I was promised X and Y." Well, when you send your car for it's first major repair, you learn the hard way that promises in the business world filled with uncertainty are not what you think they are. Understand that the real world does not work like a computer with 1s and 0s. Humans are a flawed creature and it's from those flaws that societies grow. People are doing their best, not always but that's unreasonable. My advice to you, take a step back. You obviously have a passionate head on your shoulders but complaining on the internet is not the healthy way to use that passion. Let CGC do their thing you paid them to do. Go find the next great thing you can do in your life. Just be honest with yourself, do you really feel you're using your time wisely right now or just running in circles?
  21. Honestly, I have no idea man One thing is for sure, it's gonna get chaotic and fun to watch
  22. I predict the Graded Card Market is about to explode. I also suspect people are going to hunt harder for Trophy Raws since they can't send anything to grade.
