March 29th and 30th Update Up! 245 Raws and another 300 something to go!

I was going through some Promo Lucia card packs and noticed this tiny little crimp mark at the top. Its hard to get in picture but it looks alot more obvious in person. 2nd picture shows a different unopened pack to show the crimping of the wrapper.

How do you feel about Japanese Ancient Mews? I think Ancient Mew might be one of the most under-rated cards. It's still one of a handful of Full Holo F/B. While picking up my banned cards, I picked up a few "Nintedo" ones too. Ancient Mew might be my favorite Poke Card period. Also on Ebay Sniping- That's how the game is man. I'm not gonna disagree that you're idea makes sense, but until you can get Ebay to change that, you must accept that this is how it is currently functioning and take actions in conjunction. I set an alarm for the next bid so I am ready for the 10 second showdown. Honestly, I don't even know why anyone bids before 10 seconds anyway unless they know they can't make the showdown and just brute force the auction with high bids. I had to brute force a couple auctions and not a big fan since I ended up overpaying what I know I would have paid had I Sniped the auction.

While I understand that people want to discuss their submission problems and do not want to block them from doing, I am feeling that we need a separation. Personally, I am feeling a bit annoyed at the entitlement people are having about not getting their cards serviced "as advertised/sold." Or it's not in their X Y Z system yada yada f'in yada. I would like there to be the main TCG Forum for Trading Cards, Collections, Grading questions, etc. and a whole other section for what I feel are more Customer Service complaints. I get in a way this sub forum (ask CGC) should act as that but I see no cleaning up of the main TCG forum nor any guidance to users that such discussions should come here instead. Both would be greatly appreciated Thank You.

I started the campaign Friday of last week. I bought from several hundred different sellers. It's been an absolute chaotic time between Sellers, Ebay, PayPal, 2 Banks, the Wife and Myself. Ebay/Paypal have been giving me hell on picking up the last 150 cards to add to the collection. Something about buying way too much. I swooped up $25 Misty's Tears that grade about 7-8(well everything above CGC 6). After opening my old collection box of Pokemon stuff, I got pretty "Re-Hooked" into the collection game again. Sold all my Silver Liberty coins(all 660 of them), took a small loan from my brother and "re-invested" the money into Pokemon Cards. So far I have bought about(no official tabulation yet) 600 Very Special Pokemon Cards to add to my collection. They primarily compromise of 4 Cards and believe this is set to be the largest collection of it's kind, if not already. Soon, I will reveal what those 4 cards are. So long as he's been good he can take 1 everyday. -------------------April 4th Update--------------- This is pretty much Sat-Mon. Not as many packages as last Monday but alot of cards came. We are at 387 raws in. Based on what's been shipped/delivered and not, I'm about half way through. It'll take probably 2 more weeks for the slower packages to trickle in toward the end. And here's what I picked up along the way: Those are 2 Perfect and 1 Pristine Pikachu. Another Nintedo Mew, southern island and 2 more Pichu. Usually the bonus cards I get are just there for packing but these were legit nice bonus. 2 of those pikas are 1st editions as well as the 2 blue ones. --------------------- April 6 ----------------------- I wasn't actually gonna do an update today but I got enough cards in to warrant one. Next may likely be Friday. 420 Raws! And here's the pickup. Man, one of my most valued pickups just shipped this morning and it's a $2,000 order. For now, these will do. The Misty card was just something sold along one of the Misty's Tears I got so not really a pickup but wtvr. ------------------------ April 10th ----------------------- 463 raws in! Almost gonna pass the 500 mark! I'm still figuring out how I'm gonna showcase these. I'm likely gonna start taking the photography a little more seriously and take some nicer shots. I would like to share an idea(service) that has been bubbling in my head for a couple weeks. It's very simple but quite interesting. Apply an opaque peel off sticker over the Grading of, well, any graded item. This would give the feeling of unwrapping a gift almost, but in it's own unique way. Kinda like opening a pack to find out what's inside. These stickers are extremely affordable. Though application methods would eventually require some kind of automation and but biggest cost. I would be happy to pay an extra ~$3 just to have a piece of tape to peel off. It's just so satisfying, ya know? I would just suggest it's got a non stick end to grab and peel off but make sure that side is on the opposite of the final grade. This way, one can peel away one subgrade at a time and then the finale of the big one. I just think it's too fun of an idea to pass up on and would make the experience far more unique.

More money doesn't always fix problems. You can hire all the janitors in the world, that isn't going to give you more people in the choke points. I don't believe there exists, right now, enough people with the qualifications to properly grade. It is an expertise you can't woosh into existence by throwing money at it. And before you come up with the idea of training(more) people- understand that will at least DOUBLE wait times. Right now, these people are hyper focused on the job and it's not enough to meet demand. You ask them to train(more) new people right now and you will slow down grading big time. I am sorry but this is a complicated issue that isn't easily solved. I believe CGC has some very smart people making mostly good choices, which is great. "Don't hate the player, hate the game." - CGC, PSA, BGS, etc are all doing their best. Stop hating on them over circumstances out of their control. Edit: Realizing they maybe using some man power to train new graders. But that's the now circumstance and asking to train more then now is going to slow things down.

I guess what I am asking is if CGC offers any service to "restore" user defects? Also, will CGC do any kind of Dry Cleaning to the cards normally? Is there a way to ask for such a service if it's not standard? I have some cards with some stuck on stuff that I probably should let someone else handle, you know someone who knows what they are doing lol. Thank You.

My personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt(or the whole shaker, upto you). The biggest reason those cards are worth what they are is because supply. Technically all cards are based on this. But there's a difference between will never print again and slow production. Pokemon already said they will finish 2 new factories in USA and start ramping up production this year. I believe the value of these new cards, which are set to print in record numbers, are going to fall like a rock. So will alot of other Pokemon cards since lets be honest, the fact that the new stuff is so expensive right now is affecting all Pokemon card pricing thus, the fall in their prices will affect them as well. Again, my personal opinion on these cards.

I am wondering if these would be graded as "Misprint" or Error or just Bad Centering? Seller called it Frame Shift Error but I can't seem to find anything about it outside of Japanese Ebay Sellers. Thank You.

I wish it was Just my Basic Set Holo stack with a Shadowless Chari and Chansey on top. However- to the right of that is a stack of 13 Misty's Tears. I personally think that's a way more valuable card since it was a banned card from 1998. PSA population is currently at less then 1k I have no doubt one day it'll be a very desired card, maybe more then the Shadowless Chari I got.

However, I would love to have a sonically sealed and Authenticated Box. I don't care much about 'Grading' them, just want to get them encapsulated properly.
