I would still watch this show over Force Awakens, Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker. I watched those movies once in the theater and never again. I've watched all of the SW and Marvel movies repeatedly but never those. I wanted to walk out of Rise of Skywalker, that's how bad I hated that one. So in that aspect, I guess it's still a win.

I actually loved Episode 2; never thought I could care about Sand People. But then again, Mandalorian made me care about an Ugnaught. I think that's Filoni and Favreau's talent; to give us back stories for the unloved background characters that got made into Kenner action figures.

I recommend revisiting that latest trilogy. Now that it is a whole trilogy I like it a lot more than I did when I saw them individually in the theaters. And I also come to really like Rise of Skywalker.

You should be allowed to share when you didn't care for a movie. But unless someone is going out of their way to antagonize you over it, no need to instigate it further a la realsilvermane style.

This may shock you, but quite a few critics even came around and noted how they strongly disliked 2017 Josstice League which they attributed to Snyder. Then they saw Zack Snyder's Justice League and were blown away over the difference.

What's shocking is the effort you spent responding to a joke.

  3. Also just watched first time today. After reading this thread I thought it would be like "Justice League bad". But it was way better than Justice League and I enjoyed it. Not loved, but liked it enough. It was a lot of new stuff for me, as I was not an Eternals reader, but the character development was good, I liked their evolution. I also liked the premise of the Celestials and look forward to their involvement.

None of it makes any sense, starting with how he went from a bounty hunter working with Darth Vader to principled antihero for no apparent reason.

Well...spending time getting ready to die in a Sarlacc pit might be a reason? :) I too am not loving a lot of this show but I can definitely see this as a reason for change.

I understand this take, but one thing to keep in mind is that they had to convey about 10-15 years worth of Star Wars time and answer about 40 years of fan theories in 30 minutes.

    Mando was a blank slate.

I think we are in for a pretty epic space crime drama. But, time will tell.

Actually it is only 5 years after RotJ, but yes, still time has passed.
