  9. What he was trying to do was rate comics as to their importance to the medium, not value. By that criteria there is some basis to make the claim that Detective 38 had more influence over the comics that came after it then Detective 27 did. Whether there was a Batman or not, there would definitely be more superheroes. But if not for the success of Robin we probably would not have seen nearly as many sidekicks. Does that argument hold water? Maybe, maybe not. But it certainly shows me that DC did everything in its power to hold Marvel back...without Robin there would be no Toro! I'd argue that without Robin, Batman may have been a second-tier character who didn't survive the Golden Age. Robin gave readers someone to identify with and gave Batman someone to interact with. Batman as a solitary avenger is a limited concept. Superman had Lois Lane, Doc Savage had his aides, etc. That said, the bronze to present interpretation of Alfred makes Robin superfluous as a character as he perform same or similar story functions but is a better character overall. Well said...both of you (thumbs u
  10. No brainer here. Batman 1. It's ten times the book the Marvel 9 is Yup I agree with Bill (thumbs u
  11. You don't have curly hair hanging down all the way to your arse, thus, you cannot hope to be as cool as Roy. yeah, but after I put a beating on him in Chicago, he will have a #4 cut! (thumbs u I haven't played a game in 19-20 months so you might just be right (Sept 07 if I remember correctly). Oh, and I weigh more than I ever have. Maybe we should postpone till next year? I have lost 10 pounds (with 10 more to go)... I have been playing weekly at my old high school, with the current High School coach (that played college ball in the NE)... they have this cool netted ball return gizmo now, that sets up under the goal, and you shoot and it fires the ball back to you, etc... we went head to head last Sunday in 3 point shooting... he said no one on his current hs team can best him total from all 5 spots... results: right corner... me: 5 of 10, chris 7 of 10 right middle...me 9 of 10 (I smoked it), chris 6 of 10 top middle...me 4 of 10 (for some reason, I never shoot well there), chris 7 of 10 left middle...me 7 of 10, chris 5 of 10 (old man was getting tired ) left corner...me 7 of 10, chris 6 of 10 final result: me 32 of 50, chris, HS head ball coach, former NCAA player: 31 of 50 bring a pair of clippers Let's run some ball in Diego Rick...bring your kicks...I'll see if there's a YMCA or gym nearby... consider it done!
