  1. Flessel's first cover for More Fun. The contents include not only a Flessel strip, but also 3 strips by Siegel and Shuster, as well as one by O'Mealia.

It's interesting how they inserted the "Mar.-" before the April.

New Adventure Comics #25 has the same "Mar-Apr" cover date. Wonder why? hm

  2. I am once again attempting to put together the early run, 15-39, of New Adventure/Adventure Comics. This time with much stricter grade and PQ requirements. Thanks to all the board members who are already helping!

Special thanks to the board member who put me in to this book today! (worship)

    Congrats man!

    Stunning copy!

We are chasing the same books, but I will settle for VGs, so we shouldn't cross paths too much

    Thanks Bill!

Yeah I'm not too concerned about it. I'll let you know when I come across those lower grade copies :gossip:

Thats my old Curtis copy I had for several years, before selling to Gator! I loved that book. Looks like it got upgraded from a 3.5 to a 4.5, but a downgrade in PQ from OW to cream to OW designation... those are some big swings!

    Congrats!

Oh wow I remember that book. Always thought 3.5 was a really tight grade.

  5. Great idea to bump this, Scrooge. As a long-time pre-hero Adventure completionist, here are my ball park rankings of the top 10 in order of scarcity:

    1. New Adventure 13

    2. New Adventure 26 and 27 (tied)

    4. New Adventure 25

    5. New Comics 2 and 3 (tied)

    7. New Adventure 12

    8. New Adventure 15

    9. New Comics 4

    10. Adventure 36

I tried to go past 10, but found it too difficult to distinguish between specific issues. The next grouping would probably be New Adventure 14, 16, 17, 22 and 23. Some of the other issues of New Comics may be more scarce than they appear to be simply because the demand for them is so low that it affects the scarcity perception.

    Spot on buddy!

  6. While I didn't make it to SDCC this year, I did manage to win a long-time grail book last week... TARGET COMICS #8 (D I C K Winters copy, Sparkle City auction). This book is super-elusive, no doubt due in part to its cool grey-tone cover and candy like colors.

    Well done buddy!!!

    Dibs!

  7. 2 is a Lou Fine cover. 1 is Tuska. (thumbs u

sorry to disagree with you..lou fine inks but there is clearly eisner in that cover.....and maybe they both penciled. but that lady in distress looks suspiciously like ellen dolan from the spirit.

the guy in the coffin clearly has a eisner face and hand holding the gun is definitely eisner!

ok, who in the betting pool had 7/6/2012 as the day that jamie would for the first time be sorry to disagree with someone? wasn't me, i had sometime in 2036.
