  1. really??? that's just inexcusable, i wouldn't even want the book anymore. do you have a scan or image of the book prior to signing? Unfortunately no, I don't have a prior scan of the book. I wish I did, but I don't. So I guess you guys will just have to take my word for it. Chandler (with Desert Wind Comics) was notified by CGC about the book and he in turn notified me. They apparently found the book with the LRC bent over (which obviously created the crease). I told them to go ahead and grade it figuring I just paid Stan $50 to have it signed (and witnessed). The one thing that bothers me is that all of the books I had signed in Dallas were double bagged. The interior bag had a window cutout for each signature and had a backing board in it. Each book was removed from a larger (Golden Age) outer bag prior to signing. So each book never left the interior bag/board either before, during or after signing. How the hell any of the books got dropped or folded over is beyond me.
  2. I also just found out that my Swamp Thing #10 signed by Bernie Wrightson is coming back CGC 9.4.
  3. My latest Stan Lee Signature Series just arrived back this afternoon: I'm a bit ticked about the Cap #100 because neither the LLC ding nor the LRC crease were on the book when they were signed by Stan in Dallas. But I thought those would affect the grade more than they did so I'm at least happy it still got an 8.0. The Silver Surfer #2 grade was dead-on with what I had predicted for it so I'm pleased with that one. I now have Silver Surfer #1, 2, 4 and 5 in Stan Lee Signature Series slabs (6.5, 8.5, 7.5 and 8.5 respectively). Now I'll just have to go out and find a nice #3.
  4. Let me know if you sell any of those Marvel squarebound issues.
  5. I gotta quit watching this thread. I get sick to my stomach every time I see these gorgeous books in everyone's possession but mine.
  6. I wish we had a HPB. I always hear about the great deals. I have The Strand which is good for tpb but they put price stickers on the covers of the comics. These posts have reminded me that there are 2 Half Price Books stores in the Oklahoma City area. We've only been here for about 9 months so I didn't know they sold comics at these stores. I need to go check 'em out though. Might find a few deals there.
  7. Due to the chat boards being down about half of the day yesterday, I'm just now starting my big slab sale. I just started a thread in the Mixed Ages selling area. (thumbs u
  8. MASSIVE SLAB SALE! Hundreds of slabs will be put up for sale. Marvel, DC and Independents all listed starting tomorrow. Be there or be square!
  9. Nice set Tom! (thumbs u Wait a minute...that doesn't sound quite right does it?
  10. Sounds like someone needs to start a poll in here.
  11. I bought a nice Fantastic Four #1 from Roy back in April that he had graded as a 2.5. I had Stan Lee sign it in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and had it submitted on to CGC for grading. Got it back today and 2.5 was what it was. Spot-on grading, quick delivery (from Canada) and excellent packing job. NEVER hesitate to buy from Roy!
