  1. I had a plastic bag over the comic with a window cut out so Stan couldn't screw it up.
  2. Had this one signed by Stan Lee at the Dallas Comic Con a couple of weeks ago: I also had a Captain America #100 and Silver Surfer #2 signed by Stan and should have those back in 2-3 weeks.
  3. So there's regular front cover issues with the Pressman game back covers?
  4. Got mine today, I think Mike sent a 9.9 or 10 copy! Thank you! You are quite welcome! (thumbs u
  5. That is my knowledge as well - hence the request for the scan... Well, you guys tell me...here's what I've got:
  6. The books that were offered inside the box were UXM 303, UXM 307 and X-Men 11. The mail away form could have landed you any one of those or UXM 297. From what I understand, the 297 was only available via the mail in coupon. I'm still not sure if you were guaranteed one of the books in the box. Let us know how it turns out! Arrived today... Had X-Men 307 inside in fantastic condition. No idea what it's really worth... The BiN on the only copy on ebay is $55. Apparently it's one of the harder to locate? I thought it was a 9.8, but after scanning it, I noticed what looks like a printer crinkle along the top edge. Not sure if CGC would ding for that nor not. It's almost imperceptible in hand; almost like it was there prior to printing... The pics are hotlinks to bigger scans if you're curious. Like I said in the other thread... I also found a high grade X-Men #295 Pressman variant when I was at the storage unit the other day. So it looks like I have both the #295 and #303 variants. I think you mean #297, not #295 Nope...it's #295. It has the same Pressman game back cover.

  8. Michael is always great to work with. I just got a great deal on a couple of sweet Supernatural Thrillers slabs. (thumbs u
  9. I've not seen those for a while. Secrets of the Unknown was published by a UK company called Alan Class Comics, which specialised in b/w reprints of American comics. I remember having the Captain Atom issue as a kid back in the 70s. The one on the left is a reprint of this book:
  10. That's normally my goal on most submissions. I try to sell just enough from that group to pay for the overall cost of the submission. Most of the time I can do that, unless I send in a group of high grade Marvels where I plan to keep most of if not all of them. I often send in 2 copies of a book with the intent on keeping one and selling the other (usually the same or lower grade of the 2).
  11. I remember when I first submitted books to CGC about 4-5 years ago. When I got the books back it was like "WTF? How the hell did that get an 8.5? I thought that book was gorgeous!" After learning a heck of a lot more about grading, especially through these boards, I can now go back and look at those same books and completely understand why they got the grades they did. I still get a few back now and then that I still say WTF to, but they are much fewer and further between than they were when I first started submitting. I have a clue now (at least I THINK I do).
  12. Some recent additions to my Dave Stevens collection:
  13. I'm not the least bit concerned about the quality of the books. The one I did receive already was super sharp. I think the guy just had a brain fart as he implied he's done this before.
  14. The 3 free Rocketeer #1 books go to Bosco685, klozd24seven and Warlord! (thumbs u I'll send you guys a PM when the books arrive. The ebay seller apologized profusely (apparently he's done this before and caught hell from his wife) and they're coming to me via Priority Mail.
  15. The new Rocketeer from IDW. Sorry, should have been more clear. Which variant? Sorry for the confusion. The Alex Ross cover....this one: I've also changed my last post to add this scan as well.
  16. I'll try to pick up a few copies in Dallas this weekend. (thumbs u I was unable to find any copies of this book at the Dallas Comicon. However, I did order 5 copies off of eBay which I thought I received today. When I opened the package the dimwits only shipped 1 copy. As soon as I get the other 4, I will offer 3 of them to board members absolutely FREE (one per person). Just pay for 1st Class shipping ($2.50) and a copy is yours. (thumbs u Just be one of the first 3 boardies in the USA to say you want one and it's yours.
  17. Are these books coming back to you via FedEx or by USPS? Shipping by USPS Registered Mail often takes as long as a week to get to you once the box is shipped from CGC while FedEx should only take 2-3 days. I think I marked it USPS registered mail but honestly I can't remember. I'm too distracted by your Florida State pic. :: You could call CGC and find out which shipping method you chose. And you could change it to FedEx if you wanted. It's a little pricier but not by much. And that's a pic of Jen Sterger in my avatar.

  19. You get back in the corner and write on the blackboard, "I will never ask a question again" 500 times.
  20. I'll assume you're joking because this book is extremely common (200,000 copies) and basically worthless, but it does have the distinction of being the only Neal Adams cover in Valiant. No, I wasn't joking. I normally don't ask questions if I already know the answer. I've never seen one before. I'm not a big Valiant fan and had no clue about this book. I only spent $2 for it so it's not like it's a big loss or anything.
  21. Is this book the least bit hard to find/rare? I picked it up at the Dallas Comicon this weekend and it came with both the 3-D glasses and the Solar, Man of the Atom poster. I had a gut feeling about it so I bought it.
  22. I picked these beauties up at the Dallas Comicon this weekend. Neal Adams cover. Neal Adams cover.
