  1. Is this for real? Sadly, yes. He belongs in the HOS and a mental institution then.
  2. You have to PAY? What the hell kinda deal is THAT?
  3. Hopefully, those boardies looked at the inserts before submission and can tell us one way or the other.
  4. That probably wouldn't be that difficult to do although they would have to ensure the new book was one of those originally released with a Mark Jewelers insert.
  5. Since you listed both ASM #300 and #301 I thought I'd bring this up: I was at a customer's house yesterday as he wants to submit about 50 Moderns to CGC. He's submitting 2 nice 300s and a 301. My jaw dropped when I checked GPA and saw what ASM 301 was going for in CGC 9.8. It's almost bringing the same amount as #300! ASM #300 does bring a lot more in 9.6 though. I was just shocked to see what #301 sold for in 9.8. How many are in the census though? Apparently it's very tough to get a 9.8. I believe there is a thread about it. 69 ASM 301s in CGC 9.8

  7. I went through all of my double cover issues and the only one I have with any kind of an insert is a Batman #397 with the Mask insert. No Mark Jewelers though.
  8. Definitely block this -wipe: mitch_davi Guy listed an Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica #321 (5th Cheryl Blossom) with a pic of a CGC 5.5. But in the description he stated "On a scale of 1-10 I would rate it a 4". So which is it? A 5.5 or a 4? So I sent him this message: "Dear mitch_davi, So are you selling a CGC 5.5 copy of this comic or are you deceiving people by using this picture and giving them a raw ungraded comic? Since you rate it as a 4 instead of the 5.5." His reponse? "Dear mikesmarvels1957, As i was unable to get a picture of this comic i used one that was on line. I should not have used that pic with the 5.5 rating. However if anyone including yourself would have taken the time to read : "Considering the vintage the comic book is in reasonable condition. There is mild crayon marks covering the title but no parts missing. On a scale of 0-10 i would rate it a 4 out of 10" then you or anyone with reading capabilities would have understood. Thank you for your unsolicited attention." Uhh, how would I have known what to write to the guy if I DIDN'T read it? At this point I'm pissed. So I answer him back thusly: "Dear mitch_davi, You don't have to be such a about it. At the very minimum, you should have used a picture of another raw ungraded comic instead of a CGC graded comic. And learn how to use a scanner...they're cheap and I'm sure that someone with your reading capability could understand how to use one. Thank you for being such an honest seller on eBay. By the way, you're being reported for a false misleading listing. Love, Mike" Within 5 minutes of reading my last message, he ended that listing and replaced it with a pic of a raw ungraded #321. Of course, it's still not the book you'll be receiving. He's a newbie with 6 feedback. I've already blocked him because I'm sure if he's that dishonest as a seller he will probably be so as a buyer as well.
  9. Yeah. I've had 3 buyers who claimed they didn't receive an item when tracking clearly showed all 3 delivered. Two of them ended up locating the item (one was in a wrong mailbox) and the 3rd claimed he never received the item. He got the refund too and left me negative feedback in the process.
  10. Did your package to him have signature confirmation? Its under $200.. so no. And Kav - its SS. Buy GPA before questioning slab prices. (thumbs u Even though I don't charge the extra $2.35 for Signature Confirmation directly, anytime I sell a slab on eBay and it's at least $40-$50 I add the signature confirmation if I have room in the flat $9.95 I charge to ship one slab in the USA. I especially add it if the package is going to an apartment address.

  12. Worse, there are real financial repercussions to an unwarranted negative feedback. If you get Top Rated Seller status then you get 20% off of your Final Value Fees. In volume, that adds up to a lot of money. So if somebody is leaving a negative feedback for no reason, and without any attempt to resolve an issue, then they're potentially pulling money out of your pocket. eBay is right to allow occasional removal of negative feedbacks. Especially when the person getting the negative feedback doesn't deserve it at all, and is the type of seller who goes out of his way to make sure he is upfront, honest, fair and attentive in his eBay transactions. I have, unfortunately, become the poster child for this. I've always taken pride in being a Top Rated Seller on eBay and earning that 20% discount on Final Value Fees. But I've lost that 20% discount the past 2 months and the unwarranted Open Cases Item Not Received and Open Cases Item Description have burned me more than the negative feedback/low item ratings have. Sure, you're going to get low numbers on item description once in a while and I can live with that. But that's not the big problem here. What has been the big problem for me in the past 2 months are buyers who either jump the gun or just simply make a mistake in their eBay communications. I had one guy from Texas file 2 Item Not Received cases on 2 comics (1 shipment) not 2 hours after USPS tracking showed the item as "delivered". Why? He hadn't received the items himself. So what happens? A day later he finds the comics were placed in the wrong mailbox. Of course, who gets burned in this whole process? Me! The one who did nothing wrong. Then 2-3 weeks before that a d-bag from the UK does the same thing after showing his Walking Dead #27 had been delivered. Of course he wants me to do all of the legwork for him and find where the package is. I kindly tell him that the USPS can't help once it leaves the states and I tell him to check with his local post office and mailman to find out where he left the package. He acted like I was asking him to walk over hot coals over something! Anyway, he found the package 2-3 days later but never did explain to me where it had been. Another strike against me when I did nothing wrong. A 3rd case was about a week before that when I shipped a Marvel Legends figure to a guy in Canada. After about 3 weeks, he files a case for "Item Not Received". This one I can understand because it should have been there by now. We work together amicably and the guy goes ahead and closes the case even before he receives the item. But it still shows up on my Transaction Defect Report on eBay. The figure finally showed up about 5 weeks after I shipped it. Customs must have held the package for at least 4 weeks! On a $17 item! Who gets burned for it? ME of course! I also had a couple of guys open cases early in 2014 for item description (item not as described). But in both cases the buyer clearly stated that the package had been bent by the postal service in transit. Had I known I could have had these immediately removed from my Transaction Defect Report I would have done so. But I never worried about it because I always stayed below the 2% defect threshold that eBay has instituted to remain a Top Rated Seller. When I finally did call eBay about having these removed, I was told you have to have them removed within 120 days (4 months). Of course you do. So don't hesitate to refute stuff that shows up on your Transaction Defect Report you know wasn't your fault. If you don't, it will end up costing you money like it did with me. And for me, that 20% discount usually amounts to $30-$40 each month. Nothing to sneeze at. And even though my overall defect rate is just slightly above the 2% threshold (like 2.25%), I might not get that 20% discount for another 2-3 months until some of this non-warranted krap drops off.
  13. Here's another -wipe to block. This one's from the UK. Talk about lame excuses... Dear mikesmarvels1957, Hi thank you for excepting my offer. I'm really sorry to muck you around but my paypal account isn't working. It's asking me to verify my account on the phone number I provided but I'm away from home and will be for some time. I'm really sorry I can't pay for this item. That was never my intention when I made the bid. I hope you can relist it and get your asking price. Apologies again Riley - rileyjones88 And this was a $50 book.
  14. Wouldn't this info still be useful so that you would know the hos members eBay id, so you could have that knowledge before purchasing an item from them? I would think a better solution would be to highlight these members as hall of shamers, so that you can reference that before making a purchase from them. (thumbs u Not a bad idea....
  15. I just noticed there's a bunch of eBay listings with Pizzazz inserts now. Last year when I started this thread there were only 3 listings. I guess the word got out.
  16. Did you ever land that #9 to finish your run? I did (thumbs u Congrats!
  17. It's true that ASM is the flagship Spidey title, but ASM 252 also came out weeks before the others and is the only true first appearance of the black costume. As far as BH6 appearances, I thought their first (full) appearance was in their own title due to a delay (at Marvel? Shocking!) in the release of AF 17. Yeah. Sunfire & Big Hero 6 #1 and #2 actually came out in the 2 months prior to Alpha Flight V2 #17. My understanding is AF #17 was intended to be their first appearance but was delayed for some reason. So I think Sunfire & Big Hero 6 #1 is considered their actual first appearance.
  18. That's not what your listing said. You are purposefully deceiving people. I wonder if you've always been this way and I jus never noticed it. I used to think you were a boardie with integrity. Now I don't see any. Purposefully overgrazing and now outright lying. He did something similar with his Alpha Flight #17 sale. Described it as "First appearance of Big Hero Six" in big bold copy, and then formatted less prominently in the paragraph following it "by their creators," as if the first work by a creative team that's not an actual first appearance is something that collectors care about. Clearly intended to deceive people into thinking that it was the first appearance of Big Hero Six. Most people know what they are buying, you're trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. You can't do anything about who writes what on their auctions, the buyer needs to understand what they are buying. It really has no effect on you on, so why not just worry about yourself? I'm not in Divad's corner since i've had beef with him in the past but people on here are splitting hairs on his product descriptions about what is "exactly correct to a tee" needs to stop, try going outside for a walk, get some exercise since I know most of you people could use it. Maybe the buyer should be cognizant of what they're buying, but that doesn't absolve his responsibility. How would you feel if a parent or relative of yours got fleeced from a greasy salesman? What he's doing is dishonest, plain and simple. Again, it doesn't relate to you. eBay does have a return policy and even some sellers don't know everything. I think you guys are just tired of seeing him post his auction results in the thread, well...I'm tired of reading off topic nonsense like this in the thread. Maybe you should call the eBay police and tell them you don't agree with his comic descriptions, besides, most people don't even read them anyway, they just hit the BIN/Bid button. If the buyer buys it and is happy with it, then who is he hurting? You? The collector sitting on his over weight rear end at the comic store playing magic cards with teenagers? The guy down the street? Ever think the buyer knows and actually wants the issue? Maybe he's trying to put an Alpha Flight run together? Maybe he's trying to grab all the Big Hero 6 appearances...You're not the buyer and you're not a mind reader and that goes for anyone complaining about someone's auction trying to sell a book, you don't know the buyer's intent. Plain and simple. And to answer your question about my parents or one of my relatives being taken advantage of "greasy salesman" I'd laugh at them for being so stupid and not doing your research beforehand. I work in the trading division of an investment firm of 39 billion AUM, I couldn't care less about a guy making $10-15 on a comic book. What's he doing is sleazy, if you want to hang out with this clown be my guest. I have to be honest here bud, other than the grammar police nothing irks me more than those who brag about their job in investments or stocks in a comic book forum. That's funny, because nothing irks me more than others telling people what irks them on a comic book forum Nothing irks me more than telling people who tell others they irk them about their irking and when it irks...wait... To be fair, what really irks me is when noobs try to tell other people on here how to act....but I didn't want to be mean to the n00b. But let's also be fair and say that sometimes noobs are the ones who are correct and long standing board members are sometimes full of doo-doo.
  19. Did you ever land that #9 to finish your run?
  20. Let the crazies chase what they chase. It leaves other books for us. All I know is I have 2 nice NM-/NM copies of that coloring book. I'll throw them on eBay and if some goofball wants to pay $30-$50 for one I'm all for it. I could use the money right now.
