  1. I see one thing standing out in this whole situation between Tiger and Larry: Lack of Communication All this could have been avoided if Larry had responded to Tiger's payment and 9.8 potential comment by simply replying with something like this: "Just to clarify, I can't guarantee 9.8s on these books but I'll send the best copies I can find." Tiger replies: "OK. Good enough for me." End of story.
  2. I just checked my collection list, and it looks something like this: Magnus #5 – 4 copies Solar Man of the Atom #3 – 4 copies Magnus #7 – 1 copy (I don't consider this particularly key, especially as the origin of the new X-O armor is fairly different 1992 Harbinger #1 – 5 copies X-O Manowar #1 – 5 copies X-O Manowar #4 – 3 copies Shadowman #1 – 9 copies Solar #10 – 3 copies (& 4 reprints) Archer & Armstrong #0* – 5 copies Harbinger #10 – 6 copies Eternal Warrior #4 – 7 copies Rai #0 – 7 copies Shadowman #8 – 6 copies 1993 Archer & Armstrong / Eternal Warrior #8 – 23 copies (you can't help but accumulate these as you put together A&A and EW runs by buying lots on eBay) Bloodshot #6 – 11 copies Also of note: Rai #1 – 4 copies Rai #2 – 1 copy Rai #3 – 3 copies Rai #4 – 2 copies Rai #5 – 3 copies
  3. Nice! No surprise that you found the late-1992 and 1993 books in your boxes. X-O #1 is a bit of a surprise... it was definitely earlier than the others. The LCS having a few of the books is very nice. Magnus #5 has been about the 3rd best Magnus issue for 20 years. Magnus #12 was best, Magnus #1 was second. Both of those books have been important for the first appearances, but both of those first appearances are for characters no longer in the Valiant universe (Turok & Magnus). It would be interesting if the 3rd best issue in the Magnus run ends up being the best issue of the run 25 years later. There are cards inside Magnus #1-#8, so there's always a concern that one of the cards is missing (the coupon for #0). I just found 4 more copies of Rai #0 (9 copies total). I knew I had a bunch of those.
  4. Dug through my Valiant boxes earlier today and found these: Archer & Armstrong #0 - 2 copies Archer & Armstrong #8 - 2 copies Bloodshot #6 Harbinger #10 - 2 copies Rai #0 - 5 copies X-O Manowar #1 I then went to an LCS and found these for a total of $32.00: Archer & Armstrong #0 Archer & Armstrong #8 - 2 copies Eternal Warrior #4 Magnus #5 Solar #10 (2nd printing) X-O Manowar #4 Not a bad day.
  5. I'm quite sure that eBay deliberately makes most of their policies confusing as hell for both sellers and buyers in order to sneakily increase their profit margins. Between the screwing I got 2 years ago when I went on vacation, the exorbitant fee structures (especially charging a fee for shipping amounts) and their recent changes in seller requirements where I truly just got screwed out of 4 months worth of the Top-rated Seller 20% fee discount, I am strongly considering other venues for my comic sales. To say I'm displeased with the eBay selling experience is a strong understatement. It's like the Mafia eBay now. Pure extortion.
  6. Anyone know what Shaq is reacting to here? The Lakers winning another game?
  7. I have to agree with you. Agent Carter did nothing for me. I quit watching it after about 2 episodes.
  8. Was thinking the same thing myself when I saw that announcement.
  9. PP 107-110....that's Spectacular Spider-Man 107-110?
  10. That does limit the amount some. Mockingbird Phil Coulson Graviton Those 3 come to mind. Of the 3 really Mockingbird is the only one that has really taken off of the top of my head. Quake - daisy Johnson. The show really evolves around her and this season her books will continue to spike. Yep. But a tough one to get in high grade with that all-black cover. I pulled a beautiful tick-less copy out of a 50-cent bin a while back. Now they're going for $15-20+ I got lucky and found a high grade Secret War #2 1st printing at a local Vintage Stock store earlier today for just under $3.00.
  11. You should post these in the Dave Stevens appreciation thread. (thumbs u
  12. That Bloodshot is signed by G., nice! Oh, c'mon. His name rhymes with RICK, not *spoon* You're apparently not aware that certain words are replaced with *spoon* by the board system. That name is one of them because it has, well, other meanings.
  13. That's the most I've ever stated as well IIRC. Typically I just say NM-/NM or better. People are usually pleasantly surprised. I will say "at least 9.6" at the most, although one time I did say "if there was ever a 9.8 candidate, this comic is it" - because it really was an easy 9.8. I do wonder what it takes to get 9.9s... I have had a couple of absolutely immaculate comics come back as 9.8s. I am pretty good at grading the UHG stuff because IMHO, those are the easiest to grade. But a couple were, literally, immaculate. Corners sharp enough to draw blood with, no creases, no colour-breaking anything... the only thing is possibly something showing up under UV light. But I have yet to get a 9.9. I think CGC is a little protective of that and the 10 grade. -slym I will state "9.6/9.8" on certain books I list on eBay if there are no visible flaws on a book, especially if it comes from a batch/hoard of books I purchased all at the same time where I've previously submitted books for grading and have received only 9.6s and 9.8s back. But I would never state anything as a 9.9 or 10 unless it was a graded book.
  14. I wonder if CGC would utilize the back of the yellow label. Do we really need that entire certification notice? Sigs look great tho. That book has so many signatures you could play "Where's Waldo?" with it.
  15. So do we know who Raina is or is that still up in the air?
  16. Boy, does this ever sound familiar..... I have not received mine yet, but know I am getting nervous. The same thing happened last year with their ASM #4 JSC variant offering here on the boards. The questionable packing and method of shipment that is.
  17. Depends on why you blocked them the first time. What did you block them for? His reason for blocking them is irrelevant. He's just asking if he has the right to cancel the order because it's the same person he blocked but under a different account. Only eBay can answer that but my opinion is yes, he should be able to.
  18. Even if the auction/store item DID have a 1-day handling time. by eBay's own rules if a customer pays for an item on Friday, the seller has until midnight Monday to "ship" the item (upload the tracking information within eBay). So he met the 1-day handling time rule by shipping the comic on Monday. Hell, he could have taken the package to the post office on Tuesday as long as he uploaded the tracking information by midnight Monday.
