It's so good looking…its almost an 8.0….but not quite! You wouldn't believe how stinking beautiful this book is. No visible flaws anywhere. Do you have pre-slabbing scans? I'm not quite sure how I earned the distinctive honor, but CGC just annointed me as the recipient of the World's Most Perfect Looking CGC 7.5 in grading history. I'm not sure how I got so lucky. I'm off to play the lottery now.

I've tried 4 times already to get a 9.8 of that book and no go Lots of bindery and spine issues with that book due to its thickness and cover stock. A real nightmare if you want a perfect book. I got lucky and picked up 10 sweet copies of ASM 365 in an online auction last year for a song. But most of them have 1 spine stress mark that breaks color.

Recently received offer for an ASM #303 CGC 9.4 I currently have on eBay. Offer is from a Canadian buyer and I'm in the USA. I charge $14.95 to ship slabs to Canada. "If you can lower shipping fee, I will up the price on the comic. No way it costs that much to ship a comic book." The offer for the comic? A whopping $9.95.

Jezz, is CGC just giving out 9.8s these days? According to my latest Modern submission, not no but hell no.

How do you know which ones are price variants and which ones aren't? I mean, there are 184 of the 35 cent Marvel price variants and there's nothing to denote the difference other than the price (no starbust like the 30 cent price variants). I carry a list with me on my iPad but unless I pull that list and check for those issues I wouldn't know the difference.

I have to assemble a group shot of all the foreign editions. This Canadian Price Variant of $1.00 was more difficult to find than all the others. There is a 1st print Direct and Newstand, 2nd print, and 3rd print, and also a Walmart 3-pack shrinkwrapped. If I discover there is one more 423 that I dont have I will kill myself so please no one show me a 423 that i dont have I only recently realized that there were 2nd and 3rd printings of this book. So I went through my stash and here's what I have: 4 First printings (3 Batcowl, 1 UPC) 2 Second printings (DC Comics aren't just for kids) 3 Third printings (DC Comics aren't just for kids) All of these are 75 cent cover prices. And I haven't received it yet, but I just bought one of those 3-packs off of eBay.

One other word of advice I might give you. Buy the most expensive stuff you can afford to buy first then buy the cheaper stuff later on. Due to inflation, in the long run you'll spend a lot less money to get the same amount of books.

I am not a lawyer, nor an American, but in Canada we were taught in our law course for engineers that a contract or transaction is not binding if the purchaser knows the seller does not understand the object's true value, and the purchaser then buys it for a ridiculously low price. It's not theft, and you can't call the police. But you could sue with a lawyer if Grampa sold a copy of Action #1 for $10. Also agree, just because something is actionable from a civil perspective does not make it a crime, nor does it make someone a thief. I think there's a lot of people who don't see the distinction, but there certainly is one. Uhhh....I was using "thief" as a figure of speech. I didn't mean he actually stole the comic. But if in fact it was THE Captain America Comics #2, then he severely underpaid her and took advantage of an old woman. Is that better? Sheesh.....

To top it all off, I added the requested back cover scan and notified her that I had done so. Within 15 minutes she sent me another message: "Hi. Can you please send scans of interior pages of Amazing Spiderman 252? Thank you." - lisac1550 My one word response? "NO" It sold at full asking price to another eBay buyer not 1 hour later. And I've blocked her sorry from ever bidding on anything i have listed on eBay.

Just had a prospective buyer (a female) ask me to add a back cover scan (no problem) AND scans of ALL interior pages (WTF?) of an ASM #252 I have on eBay. I guess there's a first for everything.

If that's actually Captain America Comics #2 then this friend's brother is a thief.
