  1. I have to say that the collected hardcovers are really nice. I’m rereading the series now and just started v.3
  2. Thanks all! Hope folks enjoy this one - certainly aimed for this to be both informative and of interest 😀
  3. Nothing snobby about it. Just creating an opp order folks to learn more about the medium we love. 👍
  4. I’m the editor, one of the writers, and did the interviews with the creators.
  5. Agreed. I'm thinking that'll be a nice smaller key especially given how the current series has really made the a part of the team.
  6. Pretty excited to share news that my first book has been released through Sequart Publishing: HOW TO ANALYZE & REVIEW COMICS. Given our shared interest in comics, I thought y’all would like to check it out. A little about the book: How to Analyze & Review Comics serves as a mainstream-friendly resource for journalists, academics, students, bloggers, and fans of all kinds. Presented in “bite size” articles and interviews focused on all areas of the comics medium, this accessible collection is for anyone who wants to learn more about how to write, discuss, and better understand the medium of comics. “An invaluable asset to comics reviewers and critics, giving them much-needed context for their writings.” — Mark Waid “Unlike literary, art, and film criticism, comics criticism hadn’t had time to develop commonly agreed on standards of analysis and evaluation. Now, with How to Analyze & Review Comics, an important step has been taken, as comics academics, journalists, and creators are given a chance to advance the discussion of what comics analysis could be. Forrest Helvie & co. present a universe of exciting possibilities for the evolution of dialogue about what legendary comics innovator Will Eisner called ’sequential art.”” — Danny Fingeroth (A Marvelous Life: The Amazing Story of Stan Lee) “How to Analyze & Review Comics is a book that’s long been needed in our industry, providing inspiration and illumination for anyone interested in doing comics criticism – and, more importantly, a fun read for anyone interested in how comics works as a medium.” — Fred Van Lente (The Comic Book History of Comics, Make Comics Like the Pros)
  7. YUP. Saw that, too. Beautiful copy. I have a SS 6.0 verified signature and sketch from Eastman with an unverified Laird signature and sketch. LOVE the gold ink on yours.
  8. Wow. Not much love for this series? Just not that collectible to folks or not as many following it?
  9. I didn’t see a thread dedicated to the 2011 IDW series so I thought I’d start one (esp since I started the original TMNT thread over in the Copper forum!-). To kick things off, which issues are your favorites and which are you speculating will pop most? I’ve mainly been a trade reader but decided to start chasing the individual issues.
  10. Thanks all! I think that I was hammering the grade bc bc of the chip in the ULC (I was clocking this as a 5.0).
  11. Thanks! Yeah, I really dig the choice of red sharpie.
  12. Just got mine today. Definitely glad I prepped the bag for where the signature and Remarque were to go.
  13. The most notable flaws you’ll see are the two chips - one on the ULC (which feels like it’ll flake off any moment) and the back cover. Interiors are in nice shape with tight corners and OW-Cream page quality. I have my guess as to the grade but I’m curious how that pairs up with all y’all! Thanks!!
  14. Omg I’m soooo sorry, mate. That’s awful to experience.
  15. YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! These, a .99 monster can of Arizona Ice Tea, and 2-3 comics were my middle school years!
  16. I was fortunate as my #1 has both signatures and remarques from BOTH Eastman and Laird (signature series). Such a treat ❤️
  17. I just acquired this set and man, it feels like it’s really picking up steam. The quality of the stories in the Archie books is weak, but there are some covers that are superb and very appealing for collectors. And given how pricey the Mirage series has gotten, I’d not be surprised to see folks shifting to this more affordable series.
  18. Just got notice my Last Ronin #1 SS with a Remarque got a 9.8!!!
  19. So, I finally broke down and bought the rereleased He-man and Battle Cat. I should know better ... but yeah. I couldn’t resist
  20. I have two: One is a double signed, double sketched SS 6.0; the other is a 2nd print raw in around 7.5-8.0.
  21. Thanks for the recommendation! Picked these two up at a great price!
