  1. Yup! I'm not sure I've seen a low grade copy with a front cover that presented this well for this low of a price! [And I haven't been in the market for this book for probably 5-10 years!]
  2. Was this copy originally sold (raw) via Heritage about 5-10 years ago? This reminds me of a copy that I was the underbidder for (SOOOoooo many regrets on that auction).
  3. Ack! @Point Five, @piper, and @comicdonna caught me buying low grades again!-)
  4. I've been down to about one batch per year. Got a dunkel on deck but I've been wanting to do a coffee porter using Death Wish coffee for a really caffeinated punch!-)
  5. Ack! I missed the deadline! Always late to the party it seems. @HollyJollyOne - If you have anyone looking to partner up, keep me in mind!
  6. I do remember pursuing and learning about Pop Hollinger - @skypinkblu hooked me up with my very first copy! But I'm drawing a blank at the moment as to whether or not I wrote something up on him. Most of my publications have come through Newsarama and Marvel. Mind shooting me the link?
  7. I used to play Vampire the Masquerate and Werewof the Apocalypse when I was younger -- loved the games rich "fluff" -- and even years later, I still really enjoy the background. Since then, the Apocalypse/Gehenna took place and they ended the lines rebooting them anew with Requiem and The Foresaken. I'm just curious about others' response to this new landscape they've created. I've read some stuff, but it just doesn't quite hold the same depth of intrigue for me. [Willing to admit the nostalgia factor could be at play here] Are there specific supplements of novels that have stood out for you since? On a comics-related note, it never ceases to amaze me that more wasn't done on the comics front with these properties. They scream comic treatment, and while I know there were some mild attempts (available on DriveThruRPG), I have a hard time believe some smaller publishers like Alterna, Action Lab, etc, wouldn't want to tackle an IP like this.
  8. Hm. Those early Superman issues are really something special, no? I had a lead on a coverless Action #23 but missed out on it. I still need to get my hands on a Batman #20 -- one of the first GA books I fell in love with but never managed to acquire. And of course, maybe tack on another nice early GA Cap. Yeah, GA Bats, Cap, and Supes are pretty high on my list.
  9. Man, in Baltimore Comic Con 2008, I was next in line to get a free sketch from Jim Lee, and the ones he was doing were huge - 11"x14"! What killed me is that some of the folks who got their free sketch turned right around and flipped 'em.
  10. So? What are you going after? Its been a while since I've been back, so I'm less focused, but I'd love to get some nice, low grade, early GA Batman and Superman books along with keys from that era.
  11. Um. I'm clearly not paying attention to what my comics are worth anymore, but 1. FF1 is seriously worth more than all of these??? 2. TTA27 is being discussed in the same playing field as AV1 and TOS39???
  12. @piper Yeah? Guess I'm earning my TOTAL NEWBIE title. Speaking of which, I still don't have a custom title. I feel like Lord of the Low Grades or Low Grade Lover would be appropriate, no?
  13. When I was more active in comic collecting a few years ago, I know @innocuous had this GREAT site for searching for vintage comics: ComicSeeker.com. I see now that it's no longer in operation? Are there any other aggregate vintage comic search sites out there?
  14. Nope. I found out after posting the link that photobucket no longer works. Tried deleting my post and couldn't do that either. Sorry!
  15. Ah... my first big ticket purchase from back in 2008 or so.
