  1. Wow!!!! (worship)

That had to be one of the nicest copies to be offered lately though. I think Metro sold the Pacific Coast copy recently CGC 9.6...but this copy almost rivals that one.

I stand corrected...Metro still has it on their website.....asking price is $15,000.00....

  2. That is a sweet NM book Tom.

My raw collection seems to all fall in at OWW pages for the most part(95%+), so my new #2 wasn't a surprise for PQ.

I haven't gotten it back yet, but the ASM 2 is on its way from CGC.

Haven't looked at this thread in a while...This is one of my favorite JIMs issues (in my top 5). Hmm, sounds like a contest question. Anyway it's a beauty.

The #89 is as good as you can get it in the way it presents itself. Really nice. :applause:

  4. As a run...the early "More Fun" books would have to be considered more difficult. I think some of the Adventure books we never see very often on the Boards (and rare) would be the "New Comics" and earlier "New Adventure Comics" with the previous style logo that preceded issue #15. Who has copies of those????? I for one, would love to see a few scans of those books. hm

Edit: Talking about "New Adventure" here...not the Double-Action #2.

Which ones would you like to see?

    na12 and 13 please. :wishluck:

Yes, I'd love to see a scan of NA #12 & #13, also New Comics #2. :wishluck:

as my run will only consist of issues 12-39 my only contribution to your request is this beautiful #14

Here's a book you don't see every often...beautiful.....thanks for posting Swapto!!!!! :headbang:

  6. Yeah Bill...he does, I've seen some of his and Centaurman also has a few. I want to see more though....in the beginnings of this thread there are several posted, but not enough...haaaa

Thanks for the info, I'm sure all the rest of us would like to see more too... (thumbs u

Never got to see his in person though...that must have been a thrill.... (worship)

  7. This is a SA thread. :rulez:

It would be great if you could post it here linky . :foryou:

I get that that is an older book, but if I had won that I would have posted it here too. Being from one of the big Atlas/Marvel pre-hero titles, and one of the longest running, it can be hard to know where the cutoff is (I sure don't). I like to see those types of books here, and looking back through this thread's history you see plenty of them. They fall through the crack between GA and SA for me. (I guess they are technically Atom Age?) Atlas books from this era have always felt like early SA to me, even though I know that technically they aren't.

Now if it had been Mystic or Astonishing or one of those titles that never led to a hero book that is an easy call. But to me, wrong or right, JIM is a Marvel pre-hero book because it eventually gave rise to a hero. This may be a creative interpretation of the thread title and rules, but that is just how I have always seen it. I realize that many will probably disagree with me on this, and I am happy to be educated on the nuances of the ages and designations. :foryou:

I don't see any problem posting ANY Strange Tales (prior to #101), Journey Into Mystery (prior to #83), Tales of Suspense (prior to #39), Tales To Astonish (prior to #35), or Amazing Advs./Amazing Adult Fantasy here in this thread. Since they are ALL pre-hero Marvel, in my opinion they meet the guidelines of the thread.

As a side-note...I consider pre-code Marvels GA...and after the code as SA. But this is not actually correct....I suppose anything after the date Sept. 1956 would be SA...and anything before as GA. Personally...I like the pre-code/code idea better....love bucking the system...haa (shrug)

  9. This one just arrived today. I've wanted a nice, presentable copy of this one for a while, but they've usually been VG or lower available and usually priced higher than I wanted to go. This one fit my needs just fine. The origin of Dollgirl is lame, but the cover is just classic to me. :cloud9:

Dollgirl's origin might be lame, but she is a doll :luhv:

    Congrats Fuely (thumbs u

Yeah, that is a great cover.....congrats!!! (thumbs u

  10. Hi all!

Back again with my latest additions, one courtesy of a real need to have ONE Twin Cities book in my collection as a native Minnesotan, and another courtesy of a reasonable off-hand bid that I did not think would stick.

Either way, the collection grows. I'm trying to keep my promise to myself of only having white-paged books without markings, etc. (unless the markings are from a pedigree). I'm having good luck so far, but some issues are going to be near-impossible in mid-to-high grade. Thanks the gods for new pedigrees and so many auctions!

    Thanks for looking,

    Dan

The Twin Cities Marvels are just incredible, and both of those FF's are prime examples.....Congrats!!!! :applause:

  11. Paid for but not yet in hand unfortunately :(

Sweet copy, I've always liked this book, and I think it is over-looked a lot simply because many of the other early Spidey's are 1st appearances of "key" Spidey villians. But this book holds it's own as far as I am concerned, and the 1st Doc Doom cross-over too. :cloud9:
